Mode of teaching at different levels
Our flexible teaching methodology allows us to meet the diverse needs of our students. A school support team coordinates the resources and support services with the adoption of the basic principles of early identification, early intervention and whole school approach. 'Small Class teaching' is adopted to cater for SEN students. P.4 to P.6 students have morning class.
Remarks
We adopt Inclusive Policy. Small class teaching and remedial lessons have been adopted for several years to cater for student differences.

Healthy school life : We adopt a School Green Policy and many programmes to promote a healthy living: Health Fitness Specialist Certification programme, Joyful Fruit Day, Healthy Snacks promoting, Sport Act programme, Joyful Vegetable Month and the Bright Smiles Campus Programme. We have morning exercise and rope skipping to arouse students' awareness in physical health.
Remarks : "Fun Fun After Lunch" provides a platform for students to demonstrate their talent. Thus, students' self confidence can be boosted and multiple intelligences can also be enhanced. During recess, students can make full of their time to engage in different activities in different special rooms.
Life-wide Learning Life-wide Learning
We organise a variety of activities. 1. Sports: artistic cycling, artistic skipping, field track, dragon dance, Martial Art (Wu shu), SportACT Award Scheme, ball games. 2. Arts: Handbell, school choir, percussion band, Marching Band Training Class, Chinese painting, Chinese dance and Visual Arts. 3. Services: Scouts, Brownies, CYC, JPC. 4. Academic: Cambridge English, Mathematical Olympiad Classes, Lego Robotic Class, Drone, Mbot programming and ITCA.

School Management
School Management Organisation : The principal leads the school administrative groups. There are action teams responsible for each administrative group and implement the school plans. Teachers have meetings regularly to receive information from the administrative groups and have more interaction with one another. They can also enhance the teaching strategies in the regular subjects' meetings.
Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee/ Management Committee : IMC was established in 2013. Its members include one school individual manager, two parent managers and two teacher managers. Meetings are held regularly to discuss the school policies.
School Green Policy : Our school advocates green life and builds up an eco-friendly campus. 'EatSmart Accreditation Scheme', advocates healthy eating activities. We respond to the environmental protection activities by acting out recycling and saving electricity at school. Environmental education is also incorporated into our curriculum to enhance students' awareness in conserving resources and caring for the Earth and protecting our planet. We encourage students to save resources and reduce waste. We join a Butterfly Explorer Scheme and establish a butterfly garden to protect our environment.

Learning and Teaching Plan
Learning & Teaching Strategies : We use diversified teaching strategies, such as various levels of questioning and graded worksheets, we develop our students' generic skills, help them build up self-confidence and learn actively. We provide the online learning platform of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics to the students. The focus on our Chinese language curriculum is from reading to writing. In English Language, we implement the PLPR/W program. We carry out 'Problem Solving' teaching strategy in Mathematics teaching. For General Studies, we arrange life-wide learning activities and project learning. We promote STEM curriculum for enhancing and developing students' abilities.
Development of Key Tasks : 1. Promoting reading culture: "Reading Month" is implemented by all subjects in turns. We offer students the reading record booklets and provide them with an I-pad to read for fun. Morning reading time, Reading Billboard and reading corners setting up in the classrooms are means to promote reading. 2. Information technology: We advance students to learn independently by providing the online learning platform and the strategies of e-learning to students. 3. Project learning: We cultivate our students' self learning and problem-solving abilities. 4. Moral and civic education: We enhance civic education and implement the school-based curriculum, the recitation of Chinese classics texts so as to exalt Chinese culture. We cultivate of physical, mental and moral health of our students. We implement PGDE Curriculum and the school-based discipline work to promote life education.
Development of Generic Skills : Project learning, science exploration and discovery projects and different subject activities are carried out to improve students' generic skills. The co-operative learning skill is adopted to develop all-round students.
Promotion of Positive Values and Attitudes : Nurture students with CARES - C-Collaboration, A-Aspiration, R-Resilience, E-Empathy and S-Self-assurance and become Tung Koon CARES-Kids.
Student Support
Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : Morning remedial groups, English Enhancement Programmes are arranged for students. Teachers help students with their homework in daily tutorial lessons. After-school Learning Support & Caring About Personal Growth Programme provide more assistance and opportunities to the disadvantaged students to improve their learning effectiveness.
Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : An intensive education program is provided for students with special needs. The 'Love and Caring Scheme' is adopted to adjust the quantity of homework and students' learning. Speech Therapy and Educational Psychologist service are provided for the SEN students.
Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students' learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; organising cultural integration activities; and hiring additional manpower and/or translation/interpretation services to facilitate the communication with parents.
Curriculum Tailoring and Adaptation : Co-plan meetings design and tailor our curriculum. We enhance the teaching and learning skills through refining various learning and teaching strategies. We attain the support from the EDB to further develop the curriculum.
Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
Home-School Co-operation : Parents have active participation in our activities, educational courses and voluntary duties at school. They give full support to our PTA. They have excellent cooperation with our teachers. Relationships between parents and teachers are very harmonious. We carry out the Award Programme -'Highly Involve, Actively Participate' to commend the parents for their active participation and for being the volunteers in various activities in the annual meetings. PTA publishes publications so as to strengthen members' relationship.
School Ethos : Our school mission is "Educate morals, Extend full talent, educate whole-person". Our school ethos is primitive. Teachers show concern and love to our students and create an harmonious and concerning environment for them. We also advocate the racial harmonious culture. Students have a strong sense of belonging to the school. Therefore, they are willing to love and help each other.
Future Development
School Development Plan : 1. Refine school-based curriculum and to strengthen teacher professional development in order to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching.
2. Implement e-Learning to facilitate classroom interaction and feedback. 3. Promote STEM learning activities in order to nurture students' problem-solving skill and innovative thinking. 4. Equip the campus with advanced facilities and equipment in order to expose students to varied learning opportunities which help unleash their potential and develop their talents. 5. Nurture students with CARES - C-Collaboration, A-Aspiration, R-Resilience, E-Empathy and S-Self-assurance and become Tung Koon CARES-Kids.
Teacher Professional Training & Development : Primary Six students still enjoy "SEED Project" conducted by the NET Section, EDB. Also, we implement the PLPR/W program. We enhance the effectiveness of teaching by co-planning lessons and implementing peer lesson observation. Our P.1 to P.6 Chinese Teachers join the scheme of 'Read and Write' for some in-need students organised by EDB to reinforce their learning.
Others : IMC & PTA Scholarships are presented to the outstanding students every year.
