Tumbler Doll Design Competition Terms and Conditions

 

Organiser:
Committee on Home-School Co-operation (CHSC)

Objectives:
The activities in this school year support the “4Rs Mental Health Charter” launched by the Education Bureau (EDB), aiming to encourage schools, parents and children to maintain close communication, promote parent-child relationships through home-school co-operation and mutual support, so that children can grow up in a happy and caring environment, as well as collaborate together to help children establish healthy habits and positive interpersonal relationships, enhance student’s well-being and resilience and promote their physical and mental health, to support their all-round development.

Eligibility:
Parents of students who currently study in local primary schools (P.4 - P.6) and secondary schools are welcome to participate in the competition with their children. Each participant group should submit one entry only.

Submission of Entries:
The entry form and tumbler doll frame can be downloaded from the website of the CHSC (www.chsc.hk). Participants have to submit their entries together with the completed entry forms to the Secretariat of the CHSC at Room W215, 2/F., West Block, EDB Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre, 19 Suffolk Road, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon by post (Please indicate “Home-School Support Multiplies Love and Care; Children Flourish with Joy and Flair” Tumbler Doll Design Drawing Competition on the envelope cover).

Entry Requirements:
The entry form and tumbler doll frame can be downloaded from the CHSC website (www.chsc.hk). Participants are free to design. The types of medium to be used are not limited. However, the addition of other materials (e.g. stickers, golden powder, glitter powder, crepe paper) to the pictures is not allowed. If the entry contains texts, both Chinese and English are acceptable.

Deadline:
7 June 2024 (Friday)

Assessment Criteria:
The assessment criteria for the panel of adjudicators include: relevance to the theme, creativity, techniques of design, ideas, etc.

Awards:
Each category will have 1 champion, runner-up, third runner-up and 10 merit awards. Certificates and book coupons will be awarded to the Champion 1st Runner-up, 2nd Runner-up and 10 Merit Prizes of each category. In addition, the winning entries may also be selected as the mascot for publicising the "4Rs Mental Health Charter" of EDB.

Announcement of Results:
List of winners will be announced by early July 2024 via the CHSC website (www.chsc.hk). Individual winners will be notified through their schools

Rules and Regulations:

  1. Each participant should submit one entry only. For multiple submissions, the last submitted entry will be considered and the remaining entries will not be accepted and without further notice.
  2. Entries found to have infringed other people's copyrights, be they commercial or non-commercial, will be disqualified. The Organiser will not be held responsible for any infringement of copyrights committed by the participants.
  3. Participants must ensure that their entries do not contain any material that is obscene, violent, pornographic, defamatory, indecent, disparaging or content that is controversial and inappropriate, and will not breach the laws of the HKSAR; failing which, the participant will be disqualified.
  4. All entries cannot display any names and school names involved. Signature, border and watermark in the form of text, symbols or pictures which contain personal information are prohibited in the entries.
  5. The Organiser and EDB own the copyrights of all entries and will have the right to edit and use all entries for publicity, exhibition or publication purposes. Prior notice or payment to participants for the copyright is not required.
  6. Upon receipt of entries, the Organiser will not issue acknowledgement for individual participants. All submitted entries are not to be returned.
  7. Entries not complying with the competition rules and regulations will be disqualified.
  8. Resolution of the panel of adjudicators will be final. Participants should raise no objection.
  9. Participants agree to provide personal data and authorise the Organiser to release such data for promotional purpose. All collected data will be destroyed if they are no longer required after the competition.
  10. The Organiser reserves the final right to interpret and amend the terms and conditions of the competition.
  11. Participants must have full understanding of the regulations of this competition. Submission of entries by participants implies that they have agreed to abide by and accept all the terms and conditions involved.
