School Facilities: : With a new annex built since 1995, the campus is hence well equipped with 2 halls, a mini-theatre and several special rooms such as the English Cafe, Mathematics Room, Computer Room, Student Activity Room, Dancing Room, Library, Self-Study Room, Religion Room, Fitness Room, Music Room, Music Balcony and Chinese Literature Room in addition to the original classrooms. All classrooms are equipped with air-conditioners, computers, projectors and smart interactive boards in order to provide a comfortable and conducive teaching and learning environment. Besides, there is a Parent Resource Centre to facilitate home-school cooperation.

To facilitate the development of Global Classroom, Video Conference Room was set up in 2018 for students to have a cultural and academic exchange with our sister schools.

Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Junior form students are required to have their lunch at school. The School Catering Team selects the lunch supplier carefully in order to ensure that balanced diets are provided for students.

(2) School Management Organisation : School-based management is implemented by an incorporated management committee consisting of school stakeholders and non-stakeholders. Our school was recognized as the most effective school in Yuen Long by the Education Bureau (EDB) in 2004. The visit of the Chief Executive in 2008 was a further acknowledgement of the school’s achievement. Invitational Education has been implemented in the school since 2004. It was awarded by the International Alliance for Invitational Education in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 respectively.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : The Incorporated Management Committee is established to manage the school. It is composed of representatives from the sponsoring body, parents, alumni, teachers, the Principal and an independent person.
(4) School Green Policy : To raise teachers’ and students’ awareness of environmental protection, school has formulated the energy-saving policies and measures.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Starting from 2010, English has been adopted as the medium of instruction for all subjects (except Chinese, Chinese History and Putonghua). Passing average marks of Chinese, English, Mathematics and the overall average mark is the promotion criteria of students. There are five NETs at our school to enhance the English-learning environment.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Our school puts heavy emphasis on nurturing students' language skills. Good practices in the teaching of English have been identified by the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong. We have been invited by the EDB to share its good practices and policies in the teaching and learning of English. To raise teaching effectiveness, collective lesson planning for major subject teachers and peer lesson observation for all teachers are arranged. To prepare and equip our students for the New Senior Secondary Curriculum, we implement cross-curriculum learning program in our school, we organize Life-Wide Learning Activity Week for all students so as to nurture their ability to think from different perspectives and provide opportunities for them to enjoy other learning experiences.
In recent years, active learning has been promoted. Through peer lesson observation, discussions and sharing sessions, teachers of each subject start to implement ways to increase student's participation in active learning. To better improve the learning and teaching effectiveness, our school has implemented student feedback questionnaires since 2019-2020.
Information and Technology Education is incorporated in lessons in order to enhance the learning and teaching effectiveness. Some of our teachers often use iPads in lessons to stimulate students’ interest in learning. “Decoding Aerial Shooting”, “3D Printing” and “App. Coding” projects are included in S.1-S.3 Computer lessons, aiming to raise students’ motivation to learn.
To help students apply what they have learned in their daily life, promote the active learning culture in school and foster students’ interests in science, Biotechnology Corner and Herbal Lane are set up.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X.
2. Curriculum highlights: To further cater to students' needs and help them build up a solid foundation for learning, three core subjects in junior forms - Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics have their own tailor-made school-based curriculum so as to bridge junior form students with the Senior Secondary Curriculum.

Science, Art and Language Enrichment Programmes (SALep) is implemented in S1-S2 since 2019-2020. Students will have SALep lessons during school time. S1 and S2 students are required to complete the compulsory modules, Chinese Calligraphy Class and English Drama Class respectively. From December onwards, students may select one elective module from 15 modules below: Japanese Class (Basic Level, Intermediate Level), Korean Class(Basic Level, Intermediate Level), German Class, Food Science Class, Health Management Class, Chinese Calligraphy (Intermediate Level), Creative Cooking Class, Intelligent Home Technology, Responsive Web Page and Hybrid App Development, Mathematics Plus, Music Arrangement for Popular Music and Advanced English Drama. Some courses are taught by external tutors and all fees will be sponsored by the school.
(4) Development of the Four Key Tasks : Morning reading sessions, extensive reading schemes of all subjects and new book displays are organized in collaboration with the Student Knowledge Promotion Sub-committee.

Through our programme “Global Classroom”, students are provided with opportunities to broaden their horizons. Theme-based interdisciplinary learning approach is implemented, including English learning, scientific inquiry, field study, environmental conservation, historical inquiry, national study and living in poor and remote areas, etc. In the past, students were guided by teachers in study tours and field trips in various countries, for example Japan (Osaka, Kyushu), Singapore, the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Australia, Seoul, Taiwan and the Mainland, etc. They are encouraged to learn outside the classroom to enrich their life experience. Until now, our school has already formed sister school pairs with 21 overseas schools, and has even established the "Exchange of Visit Scheme". In order to enhance student’s participation, student representatives are invited to organize activities together. In the academic year of 2017-2018, Seoul Exchange Programme, Melbourne Music Study Tour, Sports Camp in Foshan and Mainland Exchange Programme - Historical Figures and Events in Dongguan and Zhongshan were organized. Teacher Professional Exchange Tours to Nagoya, Osaka, Fukui, Beijing and Guangzhou were also organized to improve the teaching and learning effectiveness. In the academic year of 2018-2019, several exchange programmes were organized which included Taiwan Tunghai University Study Tour, Seoul Study Tour, Fukui Liberal Studies Study Tour, S.3 Beijing Study Tour, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology Taiwan Exchange Programme 2019, London & Cambridge Music Tour 2019, New Zealand Study Tour and USA Exchange Programme 2019 etc.

To familiarize S.1 students and parents with Christianity and Tin Yiu Life Lutheran Church, our school organizes the Education Sunday Service cum S.1 Blessing Ceremony every year. Students receive tremendous blessings from God, the church and teachers.
(5) Life Planning Education : In the school-based life planning programme, through formal lessons and cross-curriculum activities like Mentorship Programme, Life Planning Education lessons for senior form students, Life-planning Camp for S.4 students, Odyssey to Universities, Career Expo and information talks for students and parents, students are more equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitude to make wise choices in accordance with their interests, abilities and orientations; and are guided to integrate their academic or career aspirations with whole-person development and life-long learning.
In the academic year of 2019-2020, our school successfully formed sister school pairs with Tsinghua University (in Mainland), University of Aizu (in Japan), J.F. Oberlin University (in Japan), Konkuk University (in Seoul), Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (in Taipei), Tunghai University (in Taichung) and University of Alberta (in Canada). At the same time, the School Principal’s Nominations Agreements with these sister schools have also been made. Each of these universities will provide 5-10 admission quota for S6 students annually and students will receive offer when they are in S6. Some of these sister schools exempt students from the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) which students will be admitted to Bachelor's degrees programmes through Principal’s nominations.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : Curriculum design and student-centered teaching model are introduced to students with diverse needs.

(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: organising cultural integration activities. After-school Learning and Support Programmes are provided.
(4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment : Different assessment policies are adopted in various learning areas based on students’ different learning experiences. Besides general assessment, continuous assessment provides an objective evaluation criterion for students’ academic performance.
Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : Gatherings among parents and teachers are held for different forms annually. For the growth of students, workshops are held regularly to improve communication between parents and children.
(2) School Ethos : Our school aims at rectifying students' minds and cultivating them in the name of God, providing a good learning environment for students. Mental health is one of our greatest concerns, therefore, we have implemented a number of programmes to provide individual support for students. We have organized a series of diversified programmes, such as “S1 Leaping Programme” and “Stand By You Lunchtime program”. Group counseling and school activities are also organized to take care of students’ mental health and help junior form students adapt to school environment, including “Relaxing Lunchtime”, “Joyful Teens Space”, “Joyful Games Stalls” and “S3 DASS Program”. For S4 students, “Project Care” is arranged to provide peer support to students with mental and academic needs. Additionally, we have Academic Prefects, a group of students with outstanding academic achievement, to provide academic assistance to junior form students in the hope of creating the culture of caring in the campus.

We strive to nurture students' whole-personal development through multiple aspects of development, namely spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic. Soaking students in the love of God, we can promote excellent school ethos.

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : A three-year staff continuous professional development plan which aligns with the school's areas of concern is implemented. Our school also organizes Staff Development Day and other in-school training programmes to enhance the school’s development and address areas of concern.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : Students are free to choose their extra-curricular activities from a wide variety of school societies. Tutors with professional qualifications are recruited to teach students in cultural and art activities. Classes include wind band, handchime, vocal music, a cappella, dancing and drama. “Be an Active Learner! Take the initiative to organize a New Club!”programme was organized in 2016-2017. Students are given opportunities to propose new clubs to school by submitting the proposal. 4WD Interest Group (2017-18), Gymnastics Club (2018-19), Animal Caring Club and European and American Pop Music
Club (2019-20) are formed under this scheme.

Sports activities including fencing, korfball, indoor rowing, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and handball are also provided.
Others : Scholarships including the YLLSS Alumni Scholarship, Mr. Fan Yat Chung Scholarship, Mr. Chan Wing Lim William Scholarship, Dr. Mak Tsz Chung Andrew Scholarship, Dr. Tsui Luen On Gordon Scholarship and Parent-Teacher Association Scholarship are offered in the school.

The School’s a cappella team, H.O.A. (Harmony of A cappella) was awarded the entire champion, the Best Performance along with the Best Arrangement in the Hong Kong International a cappella Contest 2016. Honorably, our a cappella team was even invited to perform in "Hong Kong 2017 International A Capella Festival".

In the academic year of 2018-2019, the School’s handbell team was awarded “Best Handbell Team” in the 14th School Handbell Competition, “Creative Ringing (Open Group): Honours” and “Handbell Intermediate Secondary: Golden Award” in Hong Kong Handbell Festival – the 14th School Handbell Competition and “Handbell and Handchime (Secondary) Golden Award” in Joint School Music Competition 2019. Our school’s music teams were also awarded “Choral Singing (Secondary) Golden Award” and “A Cappella (Secondary) Golden Award” in Hong Kong Performing Arts Festival 2019 Ensemble Contest.
