Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2021 ).Admission Criteria and Weightings for Secondary One (S1) Discretionary Places: Academic performance: 40%; Interview performance: 30%; Performance other than academic results: 30% (including conduct, service, extracurricular activities performance, internal and external awards, etc.)
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : 1. To enhance the English ability of S.1 students and their ability to master the fundamentals of learning, our school provides all S.1 students with free Enrichment Courses in Chinese, English and Mathematics. Through the free Interest Classes, S.1 Orientation Day and S.1 Parents' Day, JS1 students will be better prepared for a happy campus life.
2. The Environmental and Health Education Committee has been set up to promote healthy living awareness among our students. Related services such as health check and vaccination are also provided.
3. The school tuck shop and lunch boxes are closely monitored by a special unit to maintain the health and well-being of our students.
4. The Health Ambassador Programme has been in place for years to promote related knowledge to students.
5. All classrooms are disinfected on a regular basis. School launches an inter-school cleaning competition every year.

School Management
(1)School's Major Concerns : We strive to create a positive and caring school culture and cultivate students to possess positive life values, respect themselves and others in order to achieve our mission and vision.
(2) School Management Organisation : Through school-based management and the introduction of the school self-evaluation scheme, it can be said that all stake-holders, i.e. parents, students and teachers are involved in policy-making, under the umbrella of the Incorporated Management Committee.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : The Incorporated Management Committee has been established, members including two parents, one alumnus, two teachers, one independent member, eight board members of our school authority (including our principal).
(4) School Green Policy : The Environment Protection and Health Promotion Group has been established to educate the students of the importance of taking care of and preserving the ecosystem and to help them understand the meaning of environmental protection Furthermore, health issues are significantly discussed in school. Compact fluorescent school system or energy-saving light used is a safety system that shuts off the current if the bulb breaks. We select Energy-efficient fluorescent tubes instead of the incandescent lamps. The ‘On-site Meal Portioning and Leftovers Recycling’ Scheme shall be launched at lunchtime, aiming at inculcating the importance of reducing food wastage among students.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : The main points are as follows: 1. We endeavor to strengthen the biliterate and trilingual skills of our students. 2. Our annual Singapore culture exchange and leadership study tour has built up confidence and has nurtured English skills among students. 3. Small-class teaching has been conducted in junior English language lessons so that students have more opportunity for individualized attention. 4. We organize a wide variety of activities, including English Garden, Western Breakfast, English Week, English game stalls, film appreciation and English cultural exchange activities.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : The main points are as follows: 1. The educators of university work with our teachers to refine the curriculum. 2. The establishment of an active style of studying, reading and learning support programs as well as a school-based academic award scheme. Emphasis is on catering for learners' differences in junior forms via the implementation of school-based remedial teaching programs. 3. Reforming the curriculum ensures that students have a strong foundation for learning. "Life Education" is offered for junior form students, "General Studies" for S.3 students, and "Other Learning Experiences" and “Career and Life Planning” education courses for S.4 to S.6 students. All S.5 to S.6 students focus on acquiring study skills and thinking skills. 4. Promote whole school-approached all-round learning through non-regular courses.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X. In order to meet the learning needs of different students, our school provides students with a wider choice of electives among Arts, Commerce and Science subjects.
2. Curriculum highlights:
(1) S.1 and S.2 Integrated Humanities comprise Geography, Economics and Public Affairs.
(2) Students develop their skills through thinking, questioning, discussions and responsive actions. This facilitates a smooth transition between the junior and senior secondary curricula of Liberal Studies, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Tourism and Hospitality Studies, Business and Financial Studies in order to prepare for the new senior secondary curriculum.
(3) To implement the new NSS curriculum concept, the school offers ten elective subjects in Arts and Science. Students can choose their favourite subjects according to their interest.
(4) Development of the Four Key Tasks : The main points are as follows, 1. Reading to learn S.1 students are required to participate in library periods. Other cultivating schemes include the Morning Reading Scheme, the Reading Value-Added Scheme, the Recommended Book Chart, Book Exhibition and Special Theme Promotion every year. Extensive Reading Scheme, Book Report Competition and Online Reading Scheme. 2. Information technology for interactive learning – all the classrooms have been installed with overhead projectors and multi-media computers. Students can also interact with teachers through online learning systems. 3. Life-Wide learning - These projects give students the opportunity to explore real-life challenges and problems and develop cross-curriculum skills in innovative ways. 4. Moral and civic education - Moral Education Committee and Civic Education Committee have been set up, planning relevant activities. Apart from Religious Studies and Life Education, moral education has also been incorporated into the curriculum of different subjects with a view to nurturing good citizens. 5. The educators of university work with our teachers to refine the curriculum.
(5) Life Planning Education : 1. Workshops on Self Reflection, Goal Setting and Learning Skills were held for junior secondary students.
2. Guidance on DSE elective selections were provided for S.3 students and their parents.
3. Events were organized for senior secondary students, such as: exhibitions and informative talks.
4. Life planning activities were held in cooperation with different NGOs to meet the needs of senior secondary students.
5. Visits to various private sectors including property management, social welfare, hotel, food and beverage.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : The main points are as follows: 1. Scholarships and various awards are set up for outstanding academic performance. 2. The After-school Child Pilot Scheme is to help the most needy students, and to co-ordinate and integrate after-school learning and supplementary activities for them. 3. Elite Training Scheme is offered to high achievers. 4. After-school Remedial Classes and Tutorial Classes are provided for less able students. 5. Summer Enrichment Courses are available for new S.1 students and students of different levels. 6. Our teachers and peer classmates take good care of students with special educational needs. 7. An Educational Psychologist will be stationed at school regularly, providing school-based supporting services. Student helpers will be present to design tailor-made activities related to personal growth, aiming to address learning differences and ensure mental health among students.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : A student support team is established to cater multi-faceted needs students might come across in their learning or growth. The team comprises of SEN Coordinator, experienced teachers and student counsellors, they assist the school in establishing school policies such as, school-based teaching adaptation and assessment accommodation, individual education plan and the utilization of learning support grant. With abundant resources, the school aims to assist students in their all-rounded development via academic and social means, as well as boosting their self-confidence and self-esteem.
For students who find difficulty in learning, the school has arranged remedial learning groups during long holidays, in hoping students can make use of their holiday to revise learnt chapters and to prepare for upcoming studies, so as to set up a positive learning habit.
The school also values the development of various interests and social skills, a range of team activities and services are hosted by the team, including volunteering groups providing various volunteering services to the community, in hoping to nourish the sense of responsibility and contribution towards the community among students. To improve the social and communication skills of students, the team had set up peer groups and hosted various activities. The student support team also plays a pivotal role in facilitating parent-school support. Holding seminars/talks for instance, aiming to discuss effective parent-children communication, attaining parent-school collaboration, ultimately helping students to reach their full potential and have a healthy growth.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese. Provide after-school activities to non-chinese speaking students, to solidify their grasp of knowledge during Chinese lessons. The activity includes language skills training, peer collaboration, culture appreciation etc. Teacher assistants will be assisting student during chinese writing class. Moderation of test papers and appropriate assessment tools will be provided if needed, in hoping to monitor the progress of our students and to provide assistance as soon as possible.
(4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment : In addition to tests and examinations, coursework and projects will be assessed. Assessment accommodation for special educational needs students.
Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : Since its establishment in 1994, the Parent-Teacher Association has been frequently organizing various kinds of activities. Every year, two Parent Managers are elected to sit on the Incorporated Management Committee. Parent's Day and Parent-Teacher Conference are held regularly to facilitate parent-teacher communication.
(2) School Ethos : The main points are as follows:
1. Our school values the all-round development of our students, their spiritual education and moral education in particular. Our students are always encouraged to be caring and care for the community.
2. Our school has achieved the 'Caring Campus Award' and the 'Excellent Caring Campus Award'.
3. Award schemes are promoted to encourage students to work towards their goals.
4. Junior form students are assigned the same class teacher for three consecutive years in an effort to foster a sound relationship between teachers and students. The daily form master session also strengthens the communication between them.
5. Together with teaching assistants, junior form students are supported and helped to develop good habit of learning in school.
6. Teacher-Student activities are conducted to motivate teachers and students to support one another and grow together.
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : 2019-2022 School Development Focus:
1. Releasing time and energy through adapting the central curriculum to enhance the efficiency of teaching and learning.
2. Strengthen students’ generic skills by better use of the Life-Wide Learning Week.
3. Enhance the self-evaluation (PIE) cycle.
(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : All of our teachers participate in various in-service continuing professional training courses every year. To promote continuing professional development, teachers participate in a variety of staff development programmes, seminars and workshops such as Teacher’s Professional Development Days, collaborative lesson planning, sharing of teaching methodologies among teachers as well as visits to other schools, organized by Teacher’s Professional Development Group. It is believed that in this way teachers are better equipped to cope with educational changes and enhance the effectiveness and quality of learning and teaching. The educators of university, work with our teachers to refine the curriculum. The Chinese Language, English Language and Liberal Studies panels refine the curriculum, collaborating with educators of university. Mentorship programmme is for new teachers.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : Students have the opportunity to choose from over 20 interest clubs and uniform groups. In addition, cross-curricular as well as project-based learning activities are regularly organized. There have been outstanding performances in inter-school activities.
Others : 1. Scholarships and Awards are provided for the outstanding students to reinforce their significant performances. Enhancement classes are provided for students who are academically weak, whereas enrichment activities are arranged for students with strong academic results. English and other subjects' enhancement classes are provided for S.4 to S.6 students to help them to prepare for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE).
2. Our school strongly encourages students to participate in all sorts of competitions, in which our students had won numerous titles in the KMC International Mathematics Contests, World Mathematics Invitational Finals and The Asia International Mathematical Olympiad Open Contest etc, as well as various awards in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival.
3. We will keep close contact and hold joint-school activities with schools outside Hong Kong (e.g. Singapore).
