Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2021 ).EDB rank order 35%, Student overall performance 65% (academic results 35%, performance in co-curricular activities 10%, conduct 10%, interview performance 10%).
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : S.1 Adaptation Counselling Group, S.1 Orientation Day, S.1 Parents Orientation Meeting and Talk, S.1 Summer Bridging Course, S.1 Personal Growth induction programmes, S.1 I CAN personal growth camp, Life skill training etc.
The Health Education Team aims to promote a healthy school culture to students. Activities such as healthy living programmes, 'say no to drugs', fun day and healthy eating habit programmes are held in order to promote students' awareness of living a healthy lifestyle. The school also set up an environmental kitchen to provide central portioning lunch service to all S.1 students with a more healthy and balanced diet.

(1)School's Major Concerns : 1. To promote the five core values of Catholic education through diversified learning experiences to enrich the qualities of NGWAH.
2. To promote diversified teaching strategies with e-learning so as to help students become active learners.
3. To meet the new challenges of changing to a co-education school.
(2) School Management Organisation : Incorporated Management Committee comprises not only the supervisor and the principal but also teacher representative, parent representative, alumni and professionals from outside. Under the Incorporated Management Committee, the School Development and Executive Committee, the Finance and Administration Committee and 8 sub-committees are responsible for Teaching & Learning, student affairs and school administration.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : Incorporated Management Committee is comprised of 15 members, namely, Rev. Milanese Renzo, Mr. Li Wai Wing, Mr. Chan Tze Leung, Nicholas, Mr. Yeung Kong Hing, Peter, Mr. Antonio G. Ernest, Mr. Shu King, Mr. Chan Ka Luen, Clement, parent representative, teacher representative and alumnus representative, one independent manager and three alternate managers.
(4) School Green Policy : Religious, Moral and Civic Education Committee is responsible cultivating environmental awareness in school. Different activities such as waste paper collection, tree planting and greening school projects are held to enhance students' awareness of protecting the environment. The school has installed solar panels on its roof to generate electricity for rebate. The project is aimed at promoting environmental education and reducing power consumption.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Chinese is the MOI in junior forms. Starting from 2010-2011, according to our school-based MOI arrangements, some subjects in some junior form classes adopt English as the MOI, including Mathematics (S.1 to S.3), Integrated Science (S.1 and S.2) and Biology (S.3). In senior forms, bilingual teaching is used. To enhance students' English proficiency, different English activities such as sharing sessions with our NET teachers are held. Through morning assembly sharing, extensive reading scheme, English ambassadors, English corner, Holiday English speaking class, phonetic class, English enrichment lessons, students' English proficiency can be enhanced.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : The school helps to develop students' core skills, encourages them to be keen learners and nurtures their reading habits. Through collaborative lesson preparation, peer observation, open lesson observation, IT in teaching and project learning, teachers are able to enhance learning and teaching effectiveness.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X. 2 elective subjects.
2. Curriculum highlights: The school plans the curriculum to lay a good foundation for students' life-long learning flexibly and appropriately. Its breath and depth meet the needs of both the students and society.
(4) Development of the Four Key Tasks : Reading to Learn: In addition to providing reading periods within Chinese and English curriculum and reading KLA articles in the timetable, students are invited to share their reading experience with fellow schoolmates in morning assemblies. Various programmes are organized throughout the year to promote a reading culture in school.
Information Technology in Teaching: Teaching with the use of information technology is always a major concern in our school. Teachers are able to make use of multimedia presentation to help students understand complicated and abstract concepts. A computer presentation system is standard equipment in each classroom and special room. This, together with the resources provided by the Internet and intranet, would certainly facilitate interactive learning and discussion between teachers and students.
Project Learning: A systematic, cross-curricular approach is adopted in the implementation of project learning in junior forms. Students are expected to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in the first two years in order to finish a group project by the end of S.3, under the supervision of teacher advisers.
Moral and Civic Education: Based on Christian values, social issues are integrated into the curriculum. Various programmes and activities in parallel with the formal curriculum are scheduled throughout the year. By taking a more active role in the community, students can better contribute to their family, society and country.
(5) Life Planning Education : Our school aims to provide career life planning to students in fostering their self-understanding, personal planning, goal setting, reflective thinking and articulation to progression pathways. Our school provides students with a systematic career life planning education, including aptitude tests, career planning courses, seminars, workshops, workplace visits, leadership training programmes and study tour, so that students can get well prepared from the senior secondary stage to further studies and employment.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : To cater for student diversity, class allocation and split-class teaching will be based on students' abilities. Through collaborative curriculum planning, teachers will adopt adequate, diversified teaching strategies such as e-learning, differentiated worksheets and group learning tasks. Enhancement and remedial learning programmes will be regularly organized for both junior and senior forms. Moreover, students are encouraged to join various co-curricular activities to develop personal interests and potential.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school strives to implement integrated education. Through whole-school approach and comprehensive services, we hope to enhance SEN students’ learning effectiveness and encourage them to engage in all-rounded school activities. Student support team includes Vice Principal, SEN co-ordinator, guidance teachers, School Social-Worker, counsellors and School-based Speech Therapist and Education Psychologist. Student Support Team also works with teams in school to give continuous support to students in need. Our school well-utilizes Learning Support Grant to provide services and enrich human resources to give appropriate services to students. Training to students include Occupation, attention, writing and social skills. Our school also provides accommodation to homework, lesson and examination and trains Peer Counsellors to help school to promote integrated education and school caring culture. Besides, our school also treasures school-parents co-operation. Programmes such as banquet gatherings, careers planning parents’ meetings are regularly held to help strengthen our connections with parents on the one hand, and help reinforce parents’ network on the other.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; and organising cultural integration activities.
(4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment : Apart from traditional written assessment, continuous assessment which includes performance in class, Q & A, homework, short quiz, observation and project learning are also used to evaluate students' learning effectiveness.
Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : PTA actively participates in many activities in school, including parent volunteers, 'Respect Our Teachers' campaign. Parents' Day and other school functions. PTA also holds regular meetings to discuss issues related to school. A PTA website is also set up for parents' information.
(2) School Ethos : We have implemented the whole school approach in school-based counseling and discipline work by strengthening the collaboration among class teachers, discipline board and counseling team. The double class-teachers scheme and the class teacher's period are provided to give proper care to each student. The Student Award Scheme, the class-based Smart Team Award Scheme and S.1 Ng Wah Star Award Scheme are to affirm and encourage students' participation in extra-curricular activities to help students develop good character.
Future Development

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Apart from staff development days, seminars and visits are arranged throughout the year.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : Besides Student Union, there are more than 30 clubs and societies. All S.1 students must at least attend one sustainable training activity to nurture perseverance. Life-wide learning period is scheduled to be held on every Wednesday. All students are engaged in different personal growth activities and programmes including clubs' interest classes. Furthermore, "Student Award Scheme" is set up to encourage and recognise students' positive development in co-curricular activities and moral imperatives.
Others : The OBA and PTA set up different scholarships to commend students with outstanding performance in various areas.

Remarks : With a view to improve teaching and learning, collaborative and split-class teaching will be implemented in core subjects of some forms. Teacher-student ratio is lowered so that more support and resources will be given to each student.
