|School Facilities:||:||The notions of“Hardware”, “Software” and “Soulware” are fundamental to the provision of school facilities. Through the establishment of diversified authentic learning sites (hardware) and the professional curriculum and learning experience designs (software), it is hoped that students’ knowledge and skills can be enhanced. |Secondary One Admission||:||Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2021 ).We welcome applications for discretionary places. |Orientation Activities and Healthy Life||:||To familiarise S.1 newcomers with the school life, build up ideal teacher-student relationship and develop their sense of belonging to school, an orientation programme and adaptation activities are organised for them during the summer break. The list of activities cannot be exhaustive, to name but a few, team games, secondary school life experience, Chinese, English and Mathematics bridging programmes, Parents’ Night are arranged.
Bulk ordering of nutritious lunch boxes is arranged for S.1 students. To provide greater care to students, the two class teachers will have lunch together with their students at the beginning of the school year.
Nurturing students into an all-round healthy individual is the school major area of concern. The concern is achieved through collaboration between school’s professional counselling team (composing of school social workers, counsellors, the speech therapist and educational psychologist) and teachers by means of diversified activities and counselling techniques.

|(2) School Management Organisation||:||The IMC Committee is composed of the sponsoring body, principal, teachers, parents, alumni and independent individuals. It is of transparency and accountability. School Executive Committee helps implement school policies.
The Learning & Teaching Committee sets up policies concerning enhancing the learning effectiveness of students and teacher professional development. The Teaching Admin & Curriculum Development Group; Teacher Professional Development Group; Teaching Effectiveness & Development Group; and A.I. Innovation and Technology Edu. Group help implement the policies set up.
School emphasizes an all-round development of students. Great effort is paid to nurturing students’ self-discipline.

|(4) School Green Policy||:||School is awarded the Innovative and Energy-saving Enterprise Awards 2020 by CLP Hong Kong as an acknowledgement of its efficiency in promoting environmental protection and energy-saving.
In line with the STEM and environmental conservation education, 32 solar panels are installed. Students can explore further knowledge about renewable energy and other related issues so as to live a low carbon lifestyle.
Furthermore, smart sensors are installed in various classrooms and special rooms so that the density of the carbon dioxide and room temperature can be automatically adjusted to avoid unnecessary waste of energy. To further reduce the energy consumption, T5 lighting equipment is installed in classrooms; and insulation films are pasted onto the window glass with direct sunlight.
|(1) Whole-school Language Policy||:||1. To cater for students’ abilities and learning needs, school implements the whole-school language policy. For Chinese-speaking classes, the medium of instruction (MOI) is Chinese Language while the medium of instruction (MOI) is English Language for non-Chinese speaking classes.
2. A wide range of language enrichment activities are organized. Take English Language as an example, there is Amazing Race, from Page to Stage, Speech Festival and other interschool competitions and all these help to promote an active and positive learning environment for our students.
3. School arranges outdoor extra-curricular language-related activities to broaden the horizons of students.
|(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies||:||1. School-based curriculum design and a wide range of strategies to cater for learner diversity are adopted on subject basis.
2. I.T. in Education is adopted to enhance the learning and teaching effectiveness and efficiency.
3. Cross-curricular learning activities enabling students to align knowledge gained from various subjects are organized.
4. To arouse students’ learning motivation and to maximize learning outcomes, cross-curricular school-based STEM project is initiated. Teachers of Science, Design and Applied Technology and Information Technology work together to launch STEM activities.
|(3) School-based Curriculum||:||1. Electives: 2X. Two electives (2X) are offered in S.4-S.6.
2. Curriculum highlights:
a. School-based STEM interdisciplinary learning activities: The school’s STEM development has three objectives, namely to help others solve problems, to help improve the lives of the elderly, and to make the world a better place through different inventions. Based on the three objectives, the students develop different products and contribute to the community. Among them, "Smart Flower Pot", "Smart Teapot" and "Medicine Sorter" have even participated in overseas invention competitions and achieved good results. The school will continue to design different products based on these three objectives to serve the community.
b. Design and Technology Section:
Design and Technology is the school’s junior high school curriculum. School-based courses are set up in response to the different learning abilities of junior high school students. The teaching content is appropriately adjusted to teach students the important basic knowledge of design, technology and computer. The undergraduate teaching mode is based on context and topics. Use the knowledge learned to solve life problems. For example, teaching students to design products based on the humanistic spirit and design cycles and other design concepts according to the needs of users.
|(4) Development of the Four Key Tasks||:||Reading, Information Technology and Project-based learning are integral to the school curriculum. Through voluntary work and social service, students’ sense of responsibility and respect for others is enhanced. And through sharing in morning assemblies and class periods, students’ correct moral judgement can be cultivated.|
|(5) Life Planning Education||:||The Career Planning and Multiple Intelligence Development Group helps implement matters related to career planning education. Through a scientific analysis of students’ personalities and occupational orientation; individual or group basis professional counselling; diversified job tasting and other learning activities, it is hoped that students’ self-management skills and habits (Self-understanding, Resources understanding, Goal Setting and Application) can be developed.
|(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity||:||School has a perfect student support and counselling system. Class teachers and subject teachers accompany and listen to students at all time. Form pastoral and care coordinators provide support to and continuously care for every student’s attendance and behaviour. School social workers and counsellors offer support promptly to help solve students’ problems.
1. Students are streamed according to their learning abilities in the four core subjects – Chinese, English, Mathematics and Liberal Studies.
2. For curriculum adaptation, the Chinese Department has participated in the School-based Support Scheme organized by the EDB Language Support Team; and the Liberal Studies Department has joined the School-based Support Scheme targeted at students with specific learning difficulties.
3. To cater for autistic children, the Whole School Participation Stratified Support for Students with Autism Scheme organized by the EDB Educational Psychology Team has been joined.
|(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education||:||Student Support Group is composed of the SEN coordinator and teacher, the educational psychologist, the speech therapist, counsellors, school social workers, subject teachers and other supporting staff. The Group aims to provide reading and writing trainings; social skills trainings; concentration and attentiveness trainings and counselling services to students with special learning difficulties.
School also organises talks and seminars to respective parents. To enhance family-school communication and cooperation, parent groups are formed. Relevant learning and support news are disseminated and parents’ opinions are collected. Trainings by the school educational psychologist and speech therapist are arranged for teacher professional development.
|(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students||:||Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; organising cultural integration activities; and hiring additional manpower and/or translation/interpretation services to facilitate the communication with parents.|
|(4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment||:||1. There are two internal examinations. As suggested by experts, to motivate students to learn, assessment adaptation in the form of stratified assessment papers in junior forms is provided.
2. Continuous assessment is adopted. Daily marks composing of class and assignment performances are integral to the term score.
3. With a view to fostering students’ learning and monitoring students’ learning progress, diversified assessment modes such as class participation, project-based learning and conventional assessments are adopted.
|(1) Home-School Co-operation||:||The school PTA arranges different types of events and activities such as recreational activities, parenting workshops, field trips inside or outside Hong Kong, parent-child volunteer service, etc., to develop a better connection with the parents and guardians.|

|(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development||:||The full implementation of different levels of professional training:
New teacher training, Subject-based training, Whole school teaching strategy training, Middle management training, Participate in SEN training visit, observe and exchange with other schools. Carry out the "Lesson Walk-through". Through the "observation - sharing - amendment" cycle, teachers share with each other to promote professional exchanges. The school has participated in the EDB School-based Support Program. Through discussion, lesson preparation, class observation and other activities, the teachers can enhance their professional level.
|Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.)||:||Extra-curricular Activities and School Clubs:
“Wellness Learning Experience” group activities are organised every Friday afternoon. There are about 20 events and activities for whole person health for students to choose from.
There are other professional trainings and school teams. Professionals are hired to coach students in order to enhance the students’ standard in various domains.
“One-page Profile” co-created by class teachers and students aims at better understand and further explore students’ interests, strengths and potentials. Resources are reserved for the provision of further learning experiences and trainings to students with diverse talents.
School encourages students to take an active role in discussions about school policies and management. Under the supervision of teachers, members of the Student Union, Four Houses and various student servicing groups become the bridge between school and students on matters related to school management affairs and student services.
|Others||:||Being able to serve is very important to students' development. Therefore, the school has a service plan for every student. All students have the opportunity to serve the community so that they can be part of the society, help each other and enhance their self-value.
The Elder Academy which is established since 2019 is to encourage students to know and care for the elders in the community and to nurture the virtues of “Honor old people as we do our own aged parents".
Every student will have the opportunity to participate in an outbound study tour at least once during their six years with us.
The school provides students with chances to learn internationally. Study tours including; The Mainland’s study Tour, The Macau Pilgrimage Tour, The Yunnan Youth Cultural Exchange Programme, the Malaysian Multicultural Exploration Tour, The Creation of the God - Salesians Youth Taiwan Study Tour, Youth Exchange in the Mainland Programme were organized to enhance students’ learning experience and broaden their horizons by different learning themes.
