Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Trilingual teaching and learning remains our focus. With Putonghua being the teaching medium of Chinese lessons in S.1, we have Putonghua lessons for S.2 and S.3 as well. To further enhance the effectiveness of English teaching, each form of S.1-S.3 is split into 6 groups according to their levels for the purpose of catering individual differences and implementation of school-based curriculum. There are 2 English classes in each of S.1-S.3. More English lessons are allotted for senior forms. After-school tutorial lessons are arranged daily for S.6.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : To optimize our teaching, group lesson planning, lesson observations, teaching and learning evaluations are regularly practised. Funding from CEG is well utilized by introducing various learning activities to tap students’ potentials.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Students can select electives according to given class time.
2. Curriculum highlights: We have been developing school-based curricula on Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
(4) Development of the Four Key Tasks : 1. During Morning Reading Session, teachers discuss with students current affairs. Extensive reading lessons are introduced in junior forms. Book recommendations are regularly given by teachers in morning assemblies. There are reading clubs and ERS to encourage active reading among students.
2. Students are encouraged to do self-study. They can get access to various learning materials from the Resource Folder on the school intranet. There are also Chinese and English online reading programmes for all forms. For senior form students, they are encouraged to practise their English pronunciation in the morning reading session at MMLC.
3. We believe in the importance of learning outside classroom. Every year, there are exchange programs to China to broaden students’ horizons. It also allows students to learn more about China from different points of view.
4. All the subject panels, school organizations and the social worker are working closely together for the moral development of our students. Through various civic education activities, we hope to nurture our students into determined, responsible and respectable individuals.
(5) Life Planning Education : Please refer to school website.

It is hoped that on one hand students with different learning needs can all enjoy a healthy learning environment, and on the other fairness in assessment and grading is guaranteed.
