Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : "Form One Orientation Week" and "Form One English Bridging Course" are held in summer holiday. The aim of these programs is to help students meet secondary school life easily. Through the comprehensive curriculum and activities, we believe that students can understand themselves better, discover their talents and potentials, strengthen their self-confidence, learn how to get along well with others, build up team spirit and be responsible. Form One to Form Two students are having lunch in School. Their meals are health and nutrition emphasized.

(1)School's Major Concerns : 1.To promote diverse learning strategies on a sustained basis for reinforcing students’ active participation, and to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching.
2. To foster positive attitude for enhancing self-esteem and self-confidence, and to deepen students' understanding of the country's development and national security.
3. To promote teachers’ professional growth and to build a proactive culture among the teaching staff.
(2) School Management Organisation : Our school was founded in 1966. We aim at nurturing every student to be a capable person. We are proud of our long history and the achievements of the past students. Many alumni have become respected pillars of society. With a piece of land allocated by the government, the School Board contributed 25 million dollars to the construction of the present premises. We provide our students with excellent facilities such as a splendid assembly hall, a lecture hall, a modern library, a swimming pool, multi-media learning centres, air-conditioned classrooms and laboratories, an all-weather gymnasium and a students' activity centre. The Supervisor chairs the IMC. Under the Principal, there are three Vice Principals.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : Incorporated Management Committee has been established in the school year 2008-2009. Members include teachers, parents, and alumnus.
(4) School Green Policy : Instead of paper, e-circulars are issued to teachers and parents.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Learning English is a key policy of the School. Different programmes are adopted to promote the use of English. MOI has been fine-tuned in junior forms and Extended Learning Activities in English are adopted in several subjects. Language activities include English Speaking Friday, English Ambassadors, English Day and English Day Camp.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Our teachers are committed and conscientious. They teach with skill and patience, and various teaching strategies are adopted to cater for individual differences. They are devoted to improving every student's learning performance. In recent years, our students have made great progress in their studies and as indicated in the public examinations, our academic standards have been raised. We endeavour to enhance the effectiveness of formal and informal curriculums. Collaborative lesson planning is held in junior English, Mathematics and Chinese panels as well as the panel of Liberal Studies. Life-wide learning is promoted through various ways to enrich students' learning experiences. We also have Morning Reading Sessions, 'Read to Learn' Reading Award Scheme, Chinese/English Extensive Reading Schemes, Chinese/English On-line Reading Schemes, Good Book Sharing, Authors' Talk, Reading Club, Student Reading Ambassadors and Chinese Writing & Enhancement Course.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. A senior form student can choose two to three electives according to his/her academic ability.
2. Curriculum highlights: Develop multi-intelligence, promote cooperative learning, cater for diverse learning needs, develop generic skills, etc.
(4) Development of the Four Key Tasks : 1. Reading to learn: 20 minutes reading period every morning. There is book crossing from F.1 to F.3 and there is thematic reading from F.4 to F.5. To enhance students' interests in English, junior forms students have leisure reading and senior forms students need to read thematic articles.
2. Providing students more chances of using English through different programmes, such as mini-drama, phonics class and production of English programme by Campus TV.
3. Project learning: Project learning is already a part of the formal curriculum of the Junior Form Integrated Science.
4. Our school has been putting every effort into the application of information and communication technology, enthusiastically promoting the use of different web-based learning platforms so that our teachers can adopt appropriate teaching pedagogy, and introduce self-study and interactive learning skills to our students. In the school year 2020-2021, our school was successfully granted funding from the “IT Innovation Lab in Schools” project, which is a solid support for us to further extend the students’ innovation and creativity through STEAM. Our school is extensively providing program coding lessons to the junior form students, from F1 to F3, aiming to stimulate their creativity, sharpen their problem-solving skills, and enhance their competitiveness in the future.
5. For moral and civic education, our school puts great emphasis on seven core values of JCCSSKC. They are Judgement, Commitment, Care, Sincerity, Self-reliance, Knowledge and Contribution respectively.
(5) Life Planning Education : 1. Assist students in self-exploration and prepare them for life and career planning.
2. Cooperate with other departments to unlock students’ full potential.
3. Support students in making decisions for future studies and career according to their personal qualities in order to achieve whole-person development and acquire lifelong learning.
4. Prepare students for further studies with interview skills and Student Learning Portfolio writing workshops.
5. Widen students’ horizons and equip students with up-to-date knowledge through workshops, corporate visits and workplace experiences.
6. Provide students with timely and adequate supports to get themselves prepared for the workplace.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : The whole school approach to integrated education is adopted. We have made the school building physically accessible to all students with disabilities.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school strives to build up an inclusive and caring school culture. A “whole-school approach” is adopted to support students with special education needs (SEN). Many appropriate and diverse services are provided for their growth as well as enhancing their learning effectiveness. Our school uses the “Learning Support Grant” to employ additional staff to take care their learning. Based on the needs of students, adjustment would be arranged on their learning, homework and examination. Our school educational psychologist will help students to do professional assessment, referral and follow-up. In collaboration with other professional parties, she will design individual education plan for students in need. Parent and school co-operation is vital. Form teachers would consistently work with parents to implement appropriate measures to support students to grow up properly.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; organising cultural integration activities; and hiring additional manpower and/or translation/interpretation services to facilitate the communication with parents.
(4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment : We hold two uniform examinations and two uniform tests every year. In addition, different modes of continuous assessment are used to keep both students and teachers better informed of the learning progress so as to make assessment an integral part of the learning and teaching process.
Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : PTA sponsors Scholarships to students with good academic results and good conduct.
(2) School Ethos : The school atmosphere is harmonious and the students are well-behaved. Through a wide variety of activities such as hall assemblies, class teacher periods and visits, we strive to promote the moral development of students. We place great emphasis on such virtues as diligence, politeness, discipline and responsibility so that students will have a correct outlook on life and they can distinguish between right and wrong. Young people need concern and support from others. Caring and considerate, our teachers are dedicated to providing a loving and warm learning environment for students.
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : Hong Kong people are striving hard for their future and our teachers are doing the best in their job, caring about the well-being of our students. We will offer plenty of opportunities to students to boost their confidence and develop their abilities for a very successful life in their future, and more importantly they can make contributions to our nation and Hong Kong.
(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : We lay great stress on teacher development. Our teachers not only take part in school-based training activities but also frequently attend talks, seminars and workshops run by other educational institutions.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : There are 25 groups of extra curricular activities, which are divided into the following 5 aspects:
1. Cultural and Arts: Dance, Drama, Instrument, Stage Management.
2. Interests: Gardening, Art, Home Economics, Christian Fellowship, Board Games, Juggling, Electrical Unicycle, Table-tennis/ Badminton, Archery.
3. Leadership Training: Student Union and Houses, Prefects.
4. Services: Scouts, Girl Guide, Hong Kong Army Cadets, Student Librarian, Campus TV Student Helper.
5. Sports: Athletics & "Youth.RunOurCity", Swimming, Basketball, Football, Taekwondo.
Others : Nowadays, not only do parents have to experience a painstaking process to bring up their children but also have to withstand the stresses and strains of life. Our teachers (as many of us are also parents) always put our feet into the parents’ shoes, and therefore we keep a constant practice of making frequent contact with students’ parents so as to get a better understanding of the children’s life at home whereas our teachers are then able to let our students’ parents understand their children performance at school. We believe that communication with parents is essential for a student's personal growth and development. As for students from families with financial problems, we will reduce or waive certain school charges. Furthermore, the School-based After-school Learning and Support Programme and the Jockey Club Life-wide Learning Fund can support the disadvantaged students to join after-school tuition classes and life-wide learning activities respectively. Every year our School Managers and alumni generously donate more than 200,000 dollars in form of scholarships to those students with great academic improvement, excellent academic achievement, as well as outstanding performance in sports/aesthetics.
