In the tradition of the school motto “Through learning and temperance to Virtue”, our school provides a pleasant, liberal and democratic learning environment for students to grow healthily and happily. Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : 1. Our school offers preparation courses and a comprehensive orientation programme including STEM Creativity Workshop, discipline training, and orienteering activities to psychologically and academically prepare our new students for secondary school life.
2. We implement the Healthy School Policy. We organize a series of activities and talks to instill a positive attitude towards life into students and foster healthy habits to stay away from drugs and other bad influence.

(2) School Management Organisation : Our school's development is under the supervision of the School Management Committee. Its membership comprises a Principal Education Officer of the Education Bureau, the Principal, two teacher members, two parent members, two alumni members and two independent members. Moreover, the administrative work is taken up by teachers who are experienced and have a good knowledge of the area under their administration and close inter-disciplinary collaboration is in place to ensure high quality and effectiveness.

(4) School Green Policy : Our school has laid down a series of green school policies including recycling, economizing on the use of paper and turning on the air-conditioners only when room temperature reaches 25.5 degree Celsius or above, etc. Also, we set up an Environmental Protection Education Award Scheme to raise students' environmental awareness and encourage them to actively participate in resources conservation.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Our school emphasizes the enhancement of students' biliterate and trilingual abilities. We adopt mother tongue education at junior levels. To elevate students' proficiency in English, extended English learning activities are arranged for some subjects since S.1. At senior secondary levels, students are streamed based on their ability and students from some classes can choose to use English for the study of elective subjects.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : 1. Emphasis on Language Education. Reading periods are organized for S.1-S.4 students. Under the guidance of our teachers, students are encouraged to read extensively and share their readings in oral presentation, with a view to broadening their knowledge base, brushing up their presentation skills and enhancing their language ability.
2. Emphasis on creative thinking and problem-solving skills. School-based STEM curriculum is implemented in S.1-S.3. Students’ knowledge base is strengthened through different learning activities. Their learning interest and problem-solving skills are fostered through participation in innovative activities such as making solar models, 3D printing, robot programming, and project learning.
3. Promotion of Arts and Aesthetic Education. Joint schools visual arts competitions are held to encourage primary and secondary students from the district to participate. Since 2007, our school and 4 other secondary schools co-organized annual interflow programmes and the Joint Schools Visual Arts Exhibition at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
4. Emphasis on broadening students’ horizons. Our school has been holding offshore exchange programmes for students, e.g. “Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Zhaoqing Sister Schools Exchange Program”, “An Exploration into the Prospect of Further Studies and Employment in the Mainland and Macau”.

(4) Development of the Four Key Tasks : 1. We strive to cultivate our students' positive values and good character through organizing a series of Moral and Civic Education activities.
2. We offer Reading Period (S.1-S.4) and promote reading across the curriculum through activities and competitions organized by school library and various subject departments and teams.
3. Project Learning activities are incorporated in school-based curriculum to help students apply knowledge and skills across disciplines.
4. We use information technology and eLearning to facilitate the interactive learning and self-directed learning of our students.
(5) Life Planning Education : 1. To enhance students' positive values, unleash student's potentials, care for students' future needs, equip students for career and life planning.
2. Promote Vocational and Professional Education and Training through diversifying life-wide learning experiences.
3. To enhance communication between students, teachers and parents through a variety of school activities and events.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : 1. We adopt curriculum planning, tailoring and adaptation to cater for diverse abilities.
2. Our Learning Support and Counselling Team provides comprehensive assistance to students who have special education needs.
3. The school Educational Psychologist and Speech Therapist provide professional support to students in need.
4. We provide Gifted Education Training Programme to fully develop the potential of gifted students.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our Learning Support and Counselling Team comprises the Principal, two Assistant Principals, SENCO, social workers, and counselling teachers. With the provision of professional assistance from educational psychologists and speech therapists, we take good care of students with special educational needs collaboratively.
Applying diversified intervention models and using Learning Support Grant flexibly, we have recruited a teacher and a teaching assistant for the implementation of inclusive education at school, organizing individual and group counselling sessions for students with special educational needs.
We lay great emphasis on career and life planning for students with special educational needs, organizing various training and visits based on their learning abilities, interests and specialties.
We also provide IEPs for students with specific learning difficulties / disabilities and arrange regular meetings with their parents, class teachers and educational psychologist throughout the school year.
We provide special examination arrangements for students with special educational needs, e.g. allowing extended exam time, arranging special exam centres, ancillary aids and relevant computer facilities and software, etc. Our teachers are encouraged to enrol in the professional development programme in relation to “catering for learning diversity” provided by the EDB, to enhance their professionalism in supporting the learning of students with special education needs.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; and organising cultural integration activities. Tutorial classes are offered for non-Chinese Speaking Students to facilitate their learning of Chinese.
(4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment : Examinations are held twice a year, one in each term, which takes up 70% of the final mark. Uniform tests held once in each term, together with regular classroom assignments and quizzes, contribute to a continuous assessment mark which takes up 30% of the final mark.
We provide various assistance including individual examination room and extended examination time to maximize the performance of SEN students under the fairest circumstance.
Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) aims to foster home-school co-operation. It is very active in organising activities and providing valuable aid in a number of ways. The PTA awards scholarships to students who have achieved excellent progress and makes generous donations to support learning and training programmes. PTA Newsletters are regularly published, aiming to strengthen the communication between parents and the school.
(2) School Ethos : We uphold our school motto 'Through learning and temperance to virtue'. We lay equal emphasis on the intellectual and moral aspects of education. We adopt an integrated approach of discipline and counselling to help students overcome ethical and emotional obstacles they encounter along the way. Our Learning Support and Counselling Team has organized Peer Counselling Programme to cater for the different developmental needs of students.

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Teachers are encouraged to attend professional development courses to widen their exposure to different pedagogical strategies. Collaborative lesson preparation, peer lesson observation and sharing of good practices are also promoted among teachers.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : To develop student leadership abilities and broaden their horizons, our school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including 4 Houses, 14 clubs, the Student Union, and different interest groups. Students are encouraged to participate actively in community services to cultivate the spirit of serving others and foster personal growth. All S.1 students are encouraged to enroll one Uniform Team in order to build up their interpersonal skills and discipline.
Others : We emphasize bi-literacy and tri-lingualism. Besides, the school focuses on fostering relationship with the local community, initiating community care projects and encouraging students to take part in inter-school, cross-district and cross-border exchange programmes.
