Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2022 ).Conduct grade: B or above Academic results: 30%; Interview: 50%; Extra-curricular activities: 20%.
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : S.1 bridging programme and various extra-curricular activities are provided during summer holidays. We organise S.1 Parents' Day and S1 adaptation programme for our new students in S.1 throughout the school year.

The school's Health Education Team regularly holds a wide range of health talks, exhibitions and education programmes regarding balanced diet and different infectious diseases to raise students' awareness on health issues. The school also arranges seminars and talks for teachers, parents and students to enrich their knowledge on the issue of drug abuse.

School Management
(1)School's Major Concerns : 1. To enhance collaboration across departments and functional groups, and to expand the the established professional teaching and learning community.
2. To introduce inquiry-based learning with effective use of information technology and to cultivate a proactive learning attitude among students.
3. To devise the programme of positive education and consolidate the implementation of the school-based programme, "The Six-year Coherent Curriculum of Students' Growth" highlighting the qualities of being "Tzetinian".
(2) School Management Organisation : We employ a school-based management approach with the Principal as the head. Different functional groups, Studies Department, Discipline Department, Guidance and Counselling Department, Career Department, Extra-Curricular Activity Department, Moral Education Department, Civic Education Department and General Affairs Department, work closely with each other on a form basis to cater for the needs of our students.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : Our school has implemented School-based Management since 1997. The School Advisory Committee was set up under the supervision of the School Management Committee. In response to the operation of the Education (Amendment) Ordinance 2004, our school set up an IMC on 1 Feb 2006. The IMC consists of representatives from the school sponsoring body. The IMC holds 3 meetings annually in order to let the stakeholders have their input in major decision making, school planning, evaluation of teaching and learning effectiveness, management of financial and human resources. Its ultimate aim is to help the school maintain its long-term development and enhance the transparency and accountability of the school management.
(4) School Green Policy : As our school places great importance on greening the campus, different flowers and greenery are planted to decorate the school campus. In addition, we support various recycling programmes and encourage our teachers, staff members and students to make good use of resources.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Our school has been implementing the policy of "Biliteracy and Trilingualism" to foster our students' proficiency in Chinese, English and Putonghua. Our major strategies include arranging split classes and remedial programmes for senior forms. In addition, we organise English drama lessons, compulsory Putonghua lessons, morning reading scheme and co-curricular activities by relevant ECA clubs and societies. On top of that, the school is equipped with an English Cafe for different English learning activities. Our goal is to build up a language-rich environment in line with the school's curriculum planning, classroom teaching and extra-curricular innovations.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : We endeavour to create a congenial learning environment for the students' all-round development. Various field trips to museums, science centres and overseas study tours make learning possible inside and outside of classrooms. This promotes self-directed learning and students' horizons can be broadened as well. By carefully planning the depth and breadth our curriculum and using Chinese as the medium of instruction, we strive to cater for the levels and needs of our students. The school also utilises information technology to facilitate students' acquisition of knowledge. Reading classes are provided in junior forms to help students develop learning and reading strategies. We encourage our students to read regularly and extensively so as to broaden their horizons. In addition to the extensive reading scheme in English Language and Chinese Language subjects, the school library organises book exhibition and inter-house reading competition to foster students' reading habit. Morning reading class and inter-school writing competition are in place to reinforce students' creativity and their interest in reading.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 3X. Students can choose 3 out of 11 elective subjects.
2. Curriculum highlights: In order to cater for the learning needs of students at different levels, our school has utilised additional resources and employed different teaching strategies. For the students with learning difficulties, they will be allocated to remedial groups of a smaller class size. In order to assist the students to catch up with their fellow classmates, we tailor our curricula and organise tutorial classes for the students. Apart from the formal academic curricula, our school also stresses the importance of mental development of our students. We constantly organise a wide range of activities through the collaboration of discipline and counselling so that students understand the significance of respecting themselves, others and regulations. It is expected that all-round development can be achieved among our students.
(4) Development of the Four Key Tasks : Self-directed learning programme: The Self-access Learning Center helps promote self-directed learning among junior forms in the school. IT pedagogy: Interactive teaching and learning atmosphere is developed through the help of information technology. Moral and Civic Education: A wide range of moral and civic education activities are frequently held on a class basis. The elements of the four key tasks are immersed into the curriculum of individual subjects.
(5) Life Planning Education : In order to cater for students’ developmental needs, our school has implemented a Life Planning Education curriculum for students across all forms. Besides career-related learning in the classroom, students can have better career exploration by participating in various activities, such as, workshops, visits, talks and work attachment. Students are expected to hone the skills to be confident job seekers, having good understanding of themselves, their own career goals and the workplace. Together with the training on self management skills we provide to students, it is hoped that they will be able to cope with the transition from school to workplace.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : Some subjects are taught at the same time in the same form so students can be streamed into groups with a smaller class size based on their levels. Teachers can in turn adjust their teaching strategies to cater for student diversity. Our Student Supporting Team supports students of special education needs.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : We are committed to, on a basis of whole school approach, building an inclusive school culture in which students with special educational needs are supported by utilising different types of school and sponsoring body based subsidies. The purposes of providing appropriate and multiple supporting services are to enhance learning effectiveness and social skills of students and help them fit in better at school.

Our Student Support Team comprises the principal, vice-principals, a special educational needs coordinator, an educational psychologist from Tung Wah, the chairperson of Student Support Team, teachers concerned and teaching assistants. Working closely with other functional units or subjects, the team provides different support to students in need.

We provide students in need of special educational needs with appropriate supporting services. Speech therapy could be conducted either on an individual, small group or in-class basis. Art therapy, in the form of individual guidance or small group, is available. Other supporting measures like adjustments of learning strategies, assignments, tests and examinations are available. We also hire professional services to help students improve their social skills. Inclusion Week and Inclusion Ambassadors are introduced with a view to promoting the message of embracing inclusion in school. The message is embedded in the curriculum of Visual Arts education, encouraging cooperation and communication among students. All in all, our supporting service are diversified and all round.

We also attach great importance to the relationship we have with parents. A regular communicate system has been established between school and parents. Meetings and visits could be made to discuss and review strategies on supporting students.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; and organising cultural integration activities. We offer extra support to non-Chinese students including after-school tutorial lessons, pull-out lesson arrangement, peer support and cultural integration activities for the purpose of assisting them to adapt to school life.
(4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment : Two formal tests and two examinations are held every school year. Students' academic performance isn also assessed by their performance in homework, quizzes and projects regularly.
Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) has been established for nearly two decades. The PTA organises a myriad of activities with the aim of enhancing communications, education and cohesion. Additionally, the school social worker regularly assists the PTA in the running of parents workshops under the programme, “Along with you”. Through talks, games, role-playing activities and day camps, parents are offered opportunities to better understand their children and the transitional changes they may encounter in secondary school. Other PTA activities, for instance, parent-child outings, sharing sessions with teachers, information evening for students taking HKDSE, rice dumpling making classes are most welcomed by parents and students.
(2) School Ethos : We organize various tutorial classes to cater for the needs of both the elite students and academically low achievers. With the help of education psychologists and social workers, the Guidance and Counselling Department launches "Mutual Growth Award Scheme" with different activities to academically and emotionally support our students. Furthermore, leadership training programmes are available for senior form students to nurture our student leaders.
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : 3-year School Development Plan:
1. To enhance team spirits among teachers and cultivate professional collaboration.
2. To establish highly effective classroom teaching, utilize different kinds of learning strategies and cultivate proactive learning attitude in our school culture.
3. To develop "Positive Education", consolidate our program of "the Six-year Coherent Curriculum of Students’ Growth", rendering our students the sense of positive identity as a "Tzetinian".
(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Professional development days are organized by TWGHs and our school. We stress the importance of professional training.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : The four categories of extra-curricular activities are academic, interest, sports and service. There are also language week, subject exhibition, moral education week, health education exhibition, education camp, leadership training course, study tour, inter-house competition, Sports Day, Inter-School Competition and summer activities.
Others : Every year our school presents many awards to students, for instance, students who have had outstanding academic achievements would be awarded the ‘Academic Achievement Award’, ‘Subject Achievement Award’ or the ‘Most Improved Student Award’. Students excelling in athletics or other areas would be presented the ‘Outstanding Athlete award’, or ‘Outstanding Service Award’.

Other awards sponsored by the Parent Teacher Association are given to students, such as the ‘PTA Scholarship’, ‘PTA Most Improved Student Scholarship’ and the ‘PTA exemplary conduct award with good academic achievement, improvement in English subject and conduct.

Furthermore, the school body would recommend students with all-round achievement to participate and compete for the ‘Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund’, the ‘Yau Tze Tin Memorial Scholarship.’ or the ‘TWGHs Support Scheme for Elite Sports and Art Students’ etc. In terms of exchange programmes, our school annually offers and organizes an overseas study tour for our students.
