Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : 1. Our MOI policy in junior forms aims at bridging students to study senior forms mainly using English as the medium of instruction. Maths and IS would be taught in English in all S.1 classes starting from the 2022/23 school year. Geography, Computer Literacy and Life & Society will be taught in English in a particular class. We even offer English handouts in cultural subjects.
2. For the first time in the academic year of 2012-13 we offer in senior forms the subjects of History, Geography, Economics using English as MOI. We organize English Speaking Day in every teaching cycle and we encourage students to speak more English in campus with presents.
3. We also stress on Chinese and Putonghua. We offer lessons of classical Chinese in order to quip students with necessary knowledge to study HKDSE Chinese. However, our Chinese lessons are conducted in Cantonese only.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : 1. Bridging course to assist students to adapt EMI in F.4.
2. We always require students to prepare for lessons.
3. We require students to reflect their studies; they should also set learning targets.
4. Peer classroom observation and marking observation.
5. We participate in the reading schemes organized by HKEdCity. Our students also take part in on-line reading clubs and other reading projects.
6. Pooling more resources to award students who are making progress.
7. We promote Self-Regulated Learning.
8. "Learning attitude" grades (by subjects) shown in student's report card.
9. Routine award scheme -- students have the chance to be reward because of good learning performance in every single lesson.
(3) School-based curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X, 3X and 4X. Applied Learning offered to a few students who are in need. The brightest students can study three elective subject and the Japanese language.
2. Curriculum highlights:
a. Life and Health Education: including moral education, civic education, sex education and career planning.

4. Emphasis on the teaching of robots and programming as well as virtual reality.
(5) Life Planning Education : We offer relevant curriculum even to F.1 and F.2 students. We wish to equip them with the necessary knowledge, skill and attitude in order to help them plan their career. Besides, we also provide individual guidance to help our students to make good decisions.
On the other hand, alumni are invited to share their occupational experience. They also assist in counselling students.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : 1. A mechanism catering for students' special education needs. Most subjects have group activities in order to cater for learners' diversity. Group leaders have to guide weaker students and lead group learning activities.
2. More and more teachers create teaching video. Students can learn on their initiative at home through watching these videos.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : We adopt a whole school approach to implement Integrated Education. We have formed a Student Support Team (which comprises of vice-principals, SEN coordinator, education psychologist, speech therapist, subject teachers, counselors, social workers and teacher assistants) and this team supports needy students
We use the Learning Support Grant as well as other resources to supply support of various kinds to students, which include social etiquette training groups, counseling services and remedial programs. We also cater for learning-diversity through tailoring teaching program, diversifying teaching strategies, stratifying homework quizzes and exams into different level of difficulties.
An Individualized educational program (IEP) will be developed for a specific student during the school year to address his/her individual needs. We have a referral system so as to spot those students with special education needs as early as possible.
We also work closely with EDB psychologists to hold periodical meetings and undertake students’ assessment.
We emphasize the importance of cooperation with parents and to that ends we have developed a routine channel of communication. We discuss with parents for proper supporting strategies on electronic platforms or face-to-face meetings.
Our speech therapist also meets parents periodically in order to understand the needs of the students and to provide professional advise on supporting methods.
(4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment : 1. We implement the Minimum Promotion Requirement. In order to get promoted to another form, our students must attain a certain standard in their conduct, attendance, English language and academic subjects.
2. 2 uniform tests and 2 examinations. All subjects have continuous assessment. Students' learning attitude is assessed and shown in report cards.
3. "Assessment for Learning" - to reduce the ratio of summative assessment.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : Family education are disseminated through PTA activities formally and informally. There are parent delegates in the Board of Directors. PTA scholarship.

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Mentorship for new teachers; Staff Development Sharing Sessions and Staff Development days.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, extra-curricular activities, co-curricular activities, etc.) : In order to facilitate our students to adapt to a globalized and diversified society in the future, our ECA policy is student-based and it stresses on the development of students' different potentials. We emphasize social service. More than half of our students have performed services. Our students have accumulated more than 4,000 hours of voluntary services annually (before COVID 19).
We have Activity Day which offers day camps to our students so as to provide more co-curricular activities.
Leader training camp to enhance the leadership skill of our students.
Others : For many years we have produced good HKDSE result. According to statistics we have gathered, our students make apparently great improvement after 6 years of study.
For many years, L2 rate of most subjects is 100% or very close to 100% and far above HK average standard. Moreover, L4 rate of more than half of our subjects is above HK average standard. This year (2021) is no exception.
L3 rate of 2021 is 71.7%, which is higher than the HK average rate (66.5%).
