Secondary One Admission | : | Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2024 ).Admission Criteria and Weightings: Interview performance 40%; Academic Results (Rank order provided by EDB) 45%; ECA 15%; Conduct: B or above. The SSPA admission criteria and weightings have yet to be finalized. Please refer to the announcement of the school in January 2024. |
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life | : | 1. S.1 Adjustment Programme which lasts for five days is organized for newly admitted S.1 students; 2. S.1 Orientation Day; 3. Summer Programmes for new students: We offer Chinese, English and Mathematics adjustment courses for S.1 students; 4. S.1 Parents' Night. 5. The school cares about the well-being of students’ physical and mental health. The Health and Sex Education Team organizes different health-related activities. (2) School Management Organisation | : | 1. Belilios Public School is a government grammar secondary school for girls in Hong Kong. It is operated by the Education Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; 2. In 1999, the School Management Committee was set up with a view to reviewing the school's annual plan and major concerns. The committee comprises the chairperson, PEO from EDB, the Principal, 2 teacher representatives, 2 parent representatives, 2 alumni representatives and 2 independent members; 3. The School Development Committee, consisting of senior teachers, meets regularly; 4. The school conducts self-evaluation by the end of the year. |

(4) School Green Policy | : | The Environmental Education and Conservation Term is responsible for formulating green policies and coordinating work related to environmental protection: recycling programmes, energy conservation campaigns, organic farming workshops, and more. In addition, environmental education is incorporated into the Citizenship and Social Development syllabus and the All Round Development programme. |
Learning and Teaching Plan | ||
(1) Whole-school Language Policy | : | The language education policy of our school aims to enable students to become biliterate and trilingual so that they are proficient in written Chinese and English and able to communicate confidently in Cantonese, English and Putonghua. In addition to the formal curriculum, students have ample opportunities to enhance their language skills in co-curricular activities such as Chinese and English drama, debate and speech festivals. The English Speaking League established by our alumna allows students to learn from native English speakers with outstanding careers. Under the sister school scheme, students practise with mainland students to perform Chinese poems and prose in Putonghua. Students who are keen on learning foreign languages to explore the world can also enrol in Japanese, French, Korean and Spanish courses through the Other Languages Programme. |

(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education | : | To support students with special educational needs, our school establishes an inclusive education policy, flexibly utilizes resources and works out a plan to arrange teachers to attend relevant special education training courses in a systematic manner. The SEN team works with school social workers to implement different measures in supporting SEN students. We offer academic and counselling support to students and organize programmes such as training sessions on social skills, board games and speech therapy services to enhance their learning skills and life skills. |
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students | : | Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school. Teachers and teaching assistants are assigned to take care of the non-Chinese speaking students. We provide enhancement training courses and tutorials for the NCS students to facilitate their adaptation to the local education system and mastery of the Chinese language. |
