Learning and Teaching Plan | ||
(1) Whole-school Language Policy | : | Biliteracy and trilingualism are emphasized in our school and we aim to create an effective language learning environment. Besides native English teachers, the English Corner also creates a platform for students to improve speaking skills by talking to our NET and engaging in English learning activities. Meanwhile, students are welcome to chat with our native Putonghua teacher after class. In addition, diversified language learning activities, such as Speech Festival (English, Putonghua & Cantonese), Drama Festival (Cantonese & Putonghua) etc, are organized in order to provide more opportunities to exercise biliteracy and trilingualism. Our school also implements free programs, e.g., after-class tutorials, English Enhancement Program, and Enrichment & Remedial Classes. Furthermore, we cultivate reading habits of our students and encourage them to take part in Writing Competitions. |
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | Our school adopts a student-centred approach, embraces diversified learning modes and nurtures students’ self-learning ability. According to students’ learning abilities & needs, we have adopted small class teaching and tailor-made the curriculum. Apart from classroom learning, we encourage students to participate in outdoor learning to broaden their horizons. Teachers are encouraged to conduct collaborative lesson preparation & peer lesson observation, which allow them to share strategies & skills in increasing learning effectiveness. We implement the BYOD policy to encourage wiser use of e-learning platforms and flipped classroom strategy. All subject departments have adopted e-learning strategies to enhance teaching effectiveness. Furthermore, we provide small-group enrichment/remedial programs for students of different abilities to sharpen their thinking & study skills. |
