School Facilities : The College is the first secondary school located at the School Village, with an area of over 7,000 square meter. The campus is of millennium design. Apart from classrooms, laboratories and computer rooms, there are also Speech Chamber, I-Lab, Po Tong Exhibition Hall, an air-conditioned canteen, a mini-football court, track and field, etc.

Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2024 ).Admission criteria for S.1 discretionary places are based on: Interview (Conducted in Chi. & Eng.); Academic Performance (Grade A or B should be attained in English, and in either Chinese or Mathematics); Teacher Comments and Conduct (Merit or above); Extra-curricular Activities. The weightings of the admission criteria will be released on the school website.

To help students develop the right values, Moral, Civic and National Education Committee, together with Guidance Committee, Discipline Committee, Information Technology Committee, Student Affairs Committee and Extra-curricular Activities Committee, launched various activities related to national education, healthy lifestyle, drug education, sex education, the ability to handle adversity, emotional quotient enhancement, peer support and online moral education.

School Management

(2) School Management Organisation : The College adopts School-based Management. The Incorporated Management Committee members, PTA and different executive committees join hands in the management.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : IMC has been established since 2007.
(4) School Green Policy : Our school is committed to implementing waste reduction, energy conservation, and recycling throughout the school, including promoting paperlessness, setting up recycling bins, and green walls. In addition, our school received the Environment and Conservation Fund to promote student activities, such as analyzing microplastic pollution, to educate students on reducing plastic usage. Our school has also arranged for students to conduct research on black soldier fly food waste recycling to instill students' environmental awareness and build an "environmentally friendly" school.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : The College has always attached paramount importance to enhance students’ language proficiency, both English and Chinese. Additional 53 small English classes are arranged for reducing the class size. The teacher-student ratio of some English oral classes is further decreased to 1:4 so as to greatly enhance English teaching and learning quality. Other policies administrated by the English department include Public Speaking Scheme, Extensive Reading Scheme, English Ambassador, English Day Camp, After-school NET Interest Class, Life-wide Learning Course, Bridging Course and IPA Course in summer holiday, etc., aiming to expose students to a more English-rich environment. In addition, extra 30 Chinese reading and writing classes are arranged for better reinforcement.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Measures adopted to promote self-directed learning College has come to fruition, exemplified by the satisfactory exam results. 2023 HKDSE Results: All subjects (including Liberal Studies) were taken in English except Chinese Language, Chinese History and Chinese Literature.
The percentage of our students who meet the admission requirements for bachelor's degree programmes at local universities with '3322' in core subjects is 87%(Hong Kong’s norm is 36.6%).
The average credit rates of all subjects reached 60% with all subjects attaining better results than Hong Kong’s norm. Among all subjects, Physics has 90% credit rates and Biology has 82% credit rates.
Our students attained 5**/5* in 62 subject entries.20 of our students attained at least 2 subjects of 5**/5* or scored 30 marks in their best 6 subjects.123 of our F.6 graduates received an offer to study a bachelor’s degree programme, reaching 87% (Hong Kong’s average local university admission rate is 37.5%). 60 of our F.6 graduates are going to study a bachelor’s degree programme in one of the following renowned local universities, i.e. The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology & The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. We have 15 graduates studying in each of the aforementioned universities, which is nearly half of all our F.6 graduates who received a JUPAS offer for a bachelor’s degree programme at local universities.
The programmes that our graduates enrolled in include Medicine, Physiotherapy, Speech and Hearing Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science and Radiotherapy, Insurance and Financial and Actuarial Analysis, Risk Management Science, Professional Accountancy, etc.
(3) School-based curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Eleven elective courses are offered for students to choose from.
2. Curriculum highlights:
(1) Small class size to maximize teaching effectiveness: The College has always attached great importance to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness. Apart from approximately a million dollars allotted to additionally recruit 10 teachers and 10 teaching assistants, additional 111 small classes are arranged in Chinese, English, Mathematics and other subjects’ lessons to mediate individual learning differences in a better way.
(2) A diversified learning environment: Activities, including Academic Week, English Day Camp, Out-of-Classroom Activities, etc., are organized regularly to enrich students’ learning experience.
(3) Enrichment courses to unleash students’ potentials: Professional tutors are recruited to conduct enrichment courses with small class size. To expose gifted students to a more diversified learning environment and further nurture their talents, the College fully subsidizes eligible students to enroll in off-school advanced programmes organized by recognized institutions, including The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Chinese University and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : The College has been committed to the integration of latest technology and innovative teaching aids into teaching and learning. Students are expected to learn self-directedly anytime and anywhere. Most importantly, teaching methods that are "student-centered" involve the teacher taking on the role of a "facilitator" while students become "active collaborative learners", in which students benefit more significantly. In addition, to let students identify their strengths and weaknesses in every subject, adapted materials and exercises are prepared to further develop their strengths. Extra guidance are rendered based on students’ weaker topics. Analysis is carried out at the end of tests and examinations with the aim of helping subject teachers better understand each student’ s performance and ability.
(5) Life Planning Education : Our College provides life planning education and career guidance service for junior and senior form students respectively. A great variety of talks, seminars, visits, mock work placement, interviews and personality tests regarding life and career planning would be carried out with a view to help students examine their interests and abilities, recognize their strengths, arouse their curiosity towards learning and career options, enhance their capacity in planning and decision making. Through diversified learning experiences and career exploration, students can be familiar with various job sectors and pathways of further studies, and hence to make wise decisions in their post-secondary life.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : In order to enhance learning and teaching, over five million dollars are allotted to recruit additional teachers and teaching assistants every year. There are 30 classes from Form One to Form Six. Additional 111 small classes are arranged in Chinese, English, Mathematics and other subjects’ lessons. Some oral classes are split into 4 small groups, the teacher-student ratio of which is further decreased to 1:4 so as to greatly enhance English teaching and learning quality. The gifted courses and after-school enhancement and basic classes aim at providing different assistance to suit the needs of students. To expose gifted students to a more diversified learning environment and further nurture their talents, the College fully subsidizes eligible students to enroll in off-school advanced programmes organized by recognized institutions, including The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Chinese University and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Our school teachers are deployed to conduct regular tutorial sessions to address individual needs of shortlisted students from Form One to Form Three, providing further guidance for them to gain more understanding on their strengths and weaknesses and constantly review their learning progress.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : The College is committed to building a campus culture of inclusiveness. A school-based approach is used to support students with special educational needs. Through flexible deployment of various resources, including learning support grants, assessment services and counseling services provided by school-based educational psychologist, comprehensive support to students is provided. An example is the special examination arrangements provided in school assessments, which are closely in line with the HKEAA guidelines.
(4) Measures to provide adaptation for learning and assessment : The College adopts different types of assessment to evaluate student’s performance. Daily mark of each subject, an indicator reflecting students’ continuous progress, is one of the components accounting for students’ overall results. Every year, over five million dollars are allotted to additionally recruit 10 teachers and 10 teaching assistants. Additional 111 small classes are arranged in Chinese, English, Mathematics and other subjects’ lessons. The teacher-student ratio of some English oral classes is further decreased to 1:4 so as to greatly enhance English teaching and learning quality, horn students’ higher order thinking skills and consolidate the taught content, knowledge or skills.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : Tonglads, Writing Collections, Inside the College and Outside the Classroom, School Circulars and the highlights of all Fortnight activities are the publications distributed to parents. Two Parents’ Gatherings are arranged and two ‘Greeting Calls’ made every year for better communication between parents and teachers.
(2) School Ethos : To enhance students’ ethics, build up their positive values and develop positive attitudes towards cyber world, Discipline Committee, Guidance Committee, Student Affairs Committee and Moral, Civic and National Education jointly organize various educational programmes with different themes included, such as national education, positive education, life education, cyber-bullying, online defamation, illegal uploading and downloading of pictures or information etc. Other activities include such as news discussion, video clip broadcast, slogan design competition, online monitoring campaign, talks or workshops so as to let students understand the importance of positive thinking and their responsibilities for cyber security.

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Various professional training programmes are organized to enhance teachers’ professionalism.
Life-wide Learning (including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be provided through Key Learning Areas, extra-curricular activities, co-curricular activities, etc.) : To enrich students’ learning experience, the majority of extra-curricular activities are outsourced so that students can acquire more practical skills and professional knowledge. To encourage students to learn beyond the classroom, every student is expected to join at least one extra-curricular activity each term. To provide more options for students, the clubs and societies available for selection are revised on a half year basis based on the demand of students. This year, our extra-curricular activities include:
Academic-related Club and Society: Mathematics Olympiad, Korean Club, Japanese Club, German Club, Spanish Club, Foreign Culture Club, Memory Enhancement Club and etc.
Art-related Club and Society: Photography club, Origami club, Leather Accessories club, Caricature Club, Hand Bell, Orchestra, Chinese Orchestra, Choir, A cappella and etc.
Sports Team: Soccer Team, Basketball Team, Volleyball Team, Swimming Team, Athletics Team, Badminton Team, Table Tennis Team, Cycling Team and etc.
Interest Class: Drone Club, Digital Film Production Club, M Bot Programming Club, Star Gazing Club and etc.
Uniform Group: Girl Guildes, Red Cross, Immigration Department Youth Leaders Corps.
Others : Students are encouraged to participate in international and local competitions. Our outstanding achievements are as follows:
1.Our school represented Hong Kong and won a bronze medal in the Korea Science and Engineering Fair 2019.
2. In 2018, we represented Hong Kong for the first time in the International Genetically Engineered Machine Design Competition (iGEM) in the United States and won a bronze medal. In 2019, we represented Hong Kong again and received the highest level of recognition, a gold medal. This was the first time that a Hong Kong secondary school team had won this award.
3. In the 2023 Fun Science Competition, our school got three first prizes and Best Design Award. Our school has been participating in participating in this competition and won awards for six consecutive years.
4. In The School Challenge@Hong Kong 2023 (Live Smart@Kowloon East), our school won the championship, the 2nd Runner-up and Best Presentation Award. Students from our school have participated in this competition and won awards for five consecutive years.
5. In 2023 Joint-school Music Contest (Secondary School Choir), our school choir won the Silver Award.
6. In 2023 Joint-school Music Contest (Secondary Handbell & Handchime), our school got the Silver Award.
7. In China Taiping Cup - I Love My Country Inter-school essay and mandarin speech competition, our school won the first prize.
8. In the Inter-school Football Competition (Boys B Grade), our school team got the 2nd Runner-up.
9. In the Joint School Flag-raising Competition (Secondary School Division), our school got the 1st Runner-up.
