To provide all-round education in a happy, harmonious and positive learning environment conducive to moral, intellectual, physical, social, personal and aesthetic development. | School Facilities | : | With a Y2K school campus of 7,000 square metres, our school has a SMART library, a newly renovated Chinese Medicine Research Centre, multi-purpose rooms, computer rooms, a lecture theatre, a conference room, a school hall with balcony, a multi-purpose hall, a gymnasium, student activity rooms, a racetrack, a long jump pit and a canteen with a cook and green lunch arrangement. Our indoor swimming pool, student hostels, astronomy and meteorology science centre, orchestra rooms and stargazing corner are located at our new annex. | Secondary One Admission | : | Our school will not participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2025 ).Form 1 Admission Phase 1 Application period is from November to December. | Orientation Activities and Healthy Life | : | Introductory videos on school campus and Form 1 subjects will be released to new Form 1 students in June while Orientation Day and Form 1 Parents Day are held in late August during the summer holiday and in early September respectively. | (1) Whole-school Language Policy | : | English and Putonghua are our school languages. Students are required to communicate with teachers in English and Putonghua on campus. English is our medium of instruction. Chinese language lessons are conducted in Putonghua at S.1 as well as S.2 and selected classes at S.3 onwards. To enhance students’ language proficiency, we encourage our students to take part in international language examinations. Every year, a variety of language programmes such as drama, musical, debating and public speaking are organised to enrich our language learning environment. |
| (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | Our spiral curriculum encompasses reading scheme, project learning, I.T. in learning and value education. We also nurture higher order thinking skills across all key learning areas. Developing students’ good learning habit is also one of our major concerns. In recent years, effort is made in devising differentiation strategies and nurturing a self-directed learning ethos to better cater for different needs of students. |
| (3) School-based Curriculum | : | 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. We also offer Mathematics (Module 1) and Mathematics (Module 2) for students to choose. 2. Curriculum highlights: We offer a comprehensive curriculum to cater for different personal, academic and developmental needs of students. The curriculum design facilitates further studies, careers development and life-long learning. Our curriculum prepares students for the HKDSE examination. Our school provides International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in senior secondary which widens the path for further studies and career development for students. 63.2% of our IBDP students attained 40 points or above, with 4 students attaining the highest score of 44 (out of 45) and 3 students attaining 42. The average score of 39.4 is the highest in the school’s history. Remarks: The school fee for International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is different from that of the local curriculum. |
| (4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum | : | Reading to learn, I.T. in learning, moral, civic and national education and project learning are integrated into different key learning areas. In recent years, we have been promoting STEAM education which aims at offering students a solid knowledge base, arousing their interest in science, technology and mathematics, strengthening their ability in integrating and applying knowledge and skills to solve real-life problems and cultivating their creativity, pioneering and innovative spirit as well as entrepreneurial spirit to help them better prepare for further studies and career prospects, and to cope with the changes in the world today and the challenges it brings. |

Form 3 students are given career planning workshops so that they can make informed choices for senior secondary education. | Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) | : | Our diversified extra-curricular activities, which enable students to achieve their potentials, include swimming, rope skipping, fencing, harp ensemble, Scottish bagpipes, handbell, handchimes, handpan, African drum and dance, Boys and Girls Scouts, Red Cross, English musical, astronomy club, underwater robot training workshops, etc. We also organise interest classes, for example, Japanese, French, magic, dance, chess club and board games, 3D pen drawing, comic drawing, a cappella as well as app design. | Others | : | Our inquiry-based learning fosters innovative technology education. The remarkable inventions of our Invention Team Emoji-Mask and Smart Wardrobe were awarded 2nd Runner-up in Young Professionals Exhibition and Competition 2023 and 1st Runner-up as well as the Best Innovation Award in Young Professionals Exhibition and Competition 2024 respectively. The team also won 3rd Runner-up in Joint School Science Exhibition, being shortlisted top 20 teams for public exhibition at Hong Kong Central Library. Robotics Team gained 2nd Runner-up and the Best Engineering Award in the 3rd HKUST Robot Explorer Cup, the 5th Annual Mini Robocon Competition and the 19th IET HK MATE ROV Competition. Our LEGO Team was awarded The First Prize Award and The Third Prize Award in the 17th CTEA Cup Robotic Tournament Creative Technology Robotic Competition. They further attained overall 1st Runner-up in Junior Secondary Section, the Best Challenge Award and the Full Score Award in Robotics Intelligence DIY 2024. Our Physics Olympiad Team obtained the 4th Place in Honorable Mention for Schools in The Hong Kong Physics Olympiad 2024. Our Chemistry researchers actively joined symposia in England, Singapore, Hawaii, New Zealand and USA to present their findings. Having represented Hong Kong at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, our Chemistry Research Team participated in the 7th European Chemical Science Chemistry Congress in Liverpool to make presentations on their study about the Formulation of Turmeric and Green Tea to Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease, and also Synthesis of High Oil-affinity Ester Molecules used as Household Detergents. In 2022, they won the Champion for a Lipstick Product in a cosmetic competition. Our invention was further recognised in CityU Science Patent Challenge 2022, receiving the Silver Award as well as a Patent in Hong Kong. We secured the 2nd Runner-up for our face cleansing gel product in the same competition in the subsequent year. Our researchers entered the 2023 The Wish Builder Programme – Chinese Medicine Mobile Game Design Course and Competition for the first time, securing the First Runner-Up and the Most Popular Traditional Chinese Medicine Mobile Game Award. To cultivate international mindedness and global perspectives, students joined different overseas exchange tours for other learning experiences and all-round development, such as Exchange Tours to Beijing, Guizhou, Shandong, Laos, Singapore, New Zealand and France, Science Study Tours in Tokyo and Jiangxi, World Scholar’s Cup (Global Round) in Melbourne and World Scholar’s Cup (Tournament of Championship) at Yale University, USA. In language aspects, we also won champions in events like Solo Verse Speaking, Solo Prose Reading, Dramatic Scenes, etc. in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival. Our English Musical Team was awarded the Adjudicators' Award and invited to stage a public performance at Yuen Long Theatre. Non-academically, our Athletic Team, Basketball Team, Cross Country Team, Football Team, Table Tennis Team and Rope Skipping Team make impressive results in inter-school and territory-wide competitions every year. Our Swimming Team has got 11 overall champions and 4 first runners-up in Po Leung Kuk Affiliated Secondary Schools Joint Swimming Gala for 15 consecutive years. Our Handbell Team, Handchimes Team, Bagpipe Band, Harp Ensemble, Western Ensemble, Saxophonists, African Drummers, African Dancers, Tap Dancers and Chinese Dancers are brilliant performers and winners in territory-wide events. Our Handbell and Handchimes Team gains championship in Hong Kong Handbell Festival for consecutive years and the team was invited to have public performance in local as well as national mega events. We have organised 15 Annual Concerts to showcase the multi-talents of our students and the fruitful harvest of our all-round education. Our school awards scholarship to high achievers in both academic and non-academic areas in each academic year. |
