| Orientation Activities and Healthy Life | : | Events such as the S.1 Orientation Day for students and their parents, summer bridging courses, parents' night, open classes, learning showcase day, as well as a week-long of counselling activities are organized to prepare the new students to adapt to the new learning environment. To bring out the best in our students, we have launched the "LSTLCW Leadership Training Programme" for S.1 and S.2 students. Our school has striven to beautify the campus so that our students are immersed in a green and eco-friendly environment. School-based projects are implemented in collaboration with organizations such as the Department of Health to inculcate proper values in students and boost their skills in managing adversity. Students are encouraged to volunteer to care for the underprivileged and learn to cherish what they have so as to develop themselves holistically. We treasure mental health. |

| Learning and Teaching Plan | ||
| (1) Whole-school Language Policy | : | Chinese is used as a primary medium of instructions in junior forms while English is used as the medium of instructions when conducting Extended Learning Activities (ELA) in Mathematics, Citizenship, Economics and Society, Life and Society, Integrated Science, Physics (S.3), Biology (S.3) and Chemistry (S.3). In Senior Forms, we adopt English as the medium of instructions in Physics, Mathematics (Extended Part), some selected Mathematics classes and DSE Music. (Please refer to Subjects Offered in the 2024/25 s.y. and 2025/26 s.y. for details.). Providing an enriched English learning environment for students always takes priority at our school. To keep S.1 students abreast of local and international topical news events, we have our "School-based English Editorial Reading Aloud Programme". The "Language Across the Curriculum Programme" is carried out to pave the way for students to self-study other subjects in English. Online reading helps students develop their skills in self-learning. Our school-based English ambassadorial training programme aims to support students to introduce our school and curriculum with competent English. The English ambassadors serve as coaches in a creative poetry writing programme initiated by our school. They guide the primary students who join the programme to become creative poets. Around 200 students actively participate in the Hong Kong Schools English and Chinese Speech Festival every year. We have won multiple awards over the years. Our students won in the United Nations Conference and went on the trip to the University of Cambridge to exchange with the elite students from all over the world. Our English ambassadors were invited to be involved in the RTHK "Dream Chasers" programmes to exchange ideas with the young IT entrepreneurs. The "Worldwide Classroom Leadership Training Programme" strives to broaden our students' horizons. We have organized tours to England, France, Australia, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Brunei, Singapore, Japan and China. |
| (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | To nurture students to be all-round, Activity Lessons and Liberal Arts Education Lessons are offered. Various course options in our NSS curriculum provide students with plenty of opportunities to develop their diverse abilities and interests optimally. Our school strives to implement progressive, avant-garde and learner-centered teaching strategies to cultivate students’ generic and specific skills for their holistic development. We also value the 7 Learning Goals and the 12 key values education. STEAM education is one of the major concerns of our school. Our students are cultivated to be both inquisitive and creative in exploring the scientific world. With the establishment of the STEAM Lab, we could further develop STEAM Education. We promote e-learning in the hope of facilitating STEAM Education. We organize STEAM classes and STEAM Days to encourage students to participate in a variety of STEAM competitions. We have launched an Aerospace Leadership Training Programme. The Hong Kong Aerospace Leaders Association has been supporting us to develop training programmes for teachers and students. Our school has also been invited by regional primary schools to conduct STEAM lessons with their students. Our STEAM ambassadors were invited to share in the Hong Kong Learning and Teaching Expo over the past two years and in the Bett UK. |
| (3) School-based Curriculum | : | 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Senior form students can do two or three electives. For details, please refer to our school website. 2. Curriculum highlights: A comprehensive curriculum is advocated to offer students with diversified learning experiences. With the aim to refining our junior curriculum, we have collaborated with the Quality School Improvement Project organised by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the EDB over the past few years. The efforts made by the Departments of English, Mathematics, Citizenship and Social Development, Integrated Science and STEAM related subjects have had a positive impact on students' learning. Learning skills lessons for S.1 and S.4 students are conducted. |
| (4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum | : | A school day starts with a 20-minute reading lesson. Subject-based reading materials are incorporated into the learning activities for various subjects. The Issue Enquiry Approach is adopted in junior forms for Life and Society and Integrated Science. Cross-curricular activities through project learning are implemented. A school-based curriculum is developed to promote civic awareness. Junior form students join online reading and oral English programmes. An online classroom device is provided via our Intranet for students’ extended learning. |
| (5) Life Planning Education | : | The Career and Guidance Team has developed a comprehensive school-based curriculum in career and life planning, with a view to helping students develop a better understanding of themselves, focusing on academic and career advancement as well as formulating a blueprint for their own lives. To keep students informed of updated information on further studies and the job market, the Career and Guidance Team arranges visits, seminars, mentorship programmes, a career week as well as actively participates in the Sister School Scheme. Through a series of workshops, students learn how to develop positive attitudes and acquire essential skills in setting life goals for self-improvement. We are committed to nurturing our students to become responsible local and global citizens. We have actively participated in the Business-School Partnership Programme, the "InnoMind" Programme organized by the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council and the "Youth Impact Award", all of which led to Championships. Our students got into the final round of the JUMPSTARTER Hong Kong Student Startup Competition 2021 organized by Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund. |

| (1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity | : | Our school identifies students with different learning styles prior to their entry. Enhancement and remedial courses in Chinese, English and Mathematics are available for all levels together with support schemes for students with diverse learning needs. Teachers' meetings are held regularly to familiarise teachers with appropriate teaching pedagogies to cater for learners' wide diversity. Teacher-training is conducted to sharpen our teachers’ understanding of inclusive education. We endeavour to develop an inclusive school culture to assist our students from the Mainland. |
| (2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education | : | On the whole, our school strives to offer support and guidance to the students who have special learning needs. We cultivate mental health literacy, promote social integration on campus by organizing a range of activities. We also value home-school cooperation by hosting meetings and workshops for parents to learn to support children with diverse needs. We organize various activities to promote mental health. |
| (4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment | : | Two examinations and two uniform tests are held annually. Emphasis is placed on conducting continuous assessment via students’ regular assignments and projects. Students are spurred on to acquire productive learning habits. Eligibility tests in Chinese, English and Mathematics for Junior Forms are run annually to determine students’ learning diversity as well as to provide a point of reference for adjusting learning and teaching strategies. Pre-examination revision classes are conducted for the students who need further help with their study skills. |

| (1) Home-School Co-operation | : | Our school enhances relations and forges strong ties between our parents and the school. Seminars for parents often take place for enhancing communication between parents and the school, as well as to deliberate on the approaches to educating children. Sessions for parents are conducted in collaboration with the Parent-Teacher Association to boost parenting skills. Besides sitting in IMC meetings, parent volunteers are also engaged in different kinds of activities conducive to the personal growth of our students. |
| (2) School Ethos | : | The school-based curriculum is designed to foster students’ personal growth and instill in them core values and life skills. Our school organizes various training programmes in collaboration with various organizations, such as the City University of Hong Kong, the Department of Health, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong and so on. Class-based and learner-centred activities are held for students to internalize appropriate habits and attitudes. The system of having two class teachers per class is also arranged to cater students with more personal support. |

| (1) School Development Plan | : | We truly believe that "Every student is able to learn progress and excel". Hence, we value the importance of laying a strong foundation for learning through the fundamental steps of: Preparation- Participation- and Reflection. All of which helps to serve the essence of a ‘good lesson’, be it through blended learning, e-learning, an on-going process for refined preparation, or an assessment for learning. All these learning skills are conducive to student success in the classroom. We value STEAM education. We incorporate concepts of environmental protection into STEAM learning. We also organize artificial intelligence, virtual reality, robotics, coding and aerospace programmes and activities to make STEAM learning fun and meaningful. We offer scholarships for STEAM learning in order to give students the incentive to aim high. We value multiple intelligence. Through life and careers education, our students are brought up lovingly with integrity, discipline and guidance. An extensive range of school activities are innovated to help students develop the qualities of empathy and care for others. Simultaneously, students are also motivated to learn positive thinking and essential values to face up to adversity. The leadership training programmes further develop confidence in our students. |
| (2) Teacher Professional Training and Development | : | Apart from engaging teachers in the regular meetings for common lesson preparation, educational visits in and out of Hong Kong are also organized. Whereby, teachers are encouraged to develop themselves professionally by formulating and implementing innovative subject-based development plans. Thematic talks, classes for the purpose of peer observation and the sharing of exemplary teaching materials are a normal practice for our school. Such activities are instrumental in fostering the professional growth and development of our teachers. To further enhance our effectiveness in teaching and learning, the Departments of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics have participated in the EDB Support Service Programme and the Quality School Improvement Project (CUHK) to enhance teaching and learning. |
| Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) | : | Aiming to promote whole person growth and develop academic capabilities, numerous programmes such as performing arts, recreational activities, skill-based and community service activities are offered. More than 20 societies and interest groups are made available for students to develop their potential to the maximum. To broaden students' horizons, learning trips to Singapore, Brunei, Seoul, Okinawa, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the mainland have been organized. Our students actively participate in the Business-School Partnership Programme and the multi-intelligence programmes. We value moral and civic education.
