Our school strives to provide opportunities for students to actualise their potential and develop their talents so that they can shine. With student-centred education as our chief mission, we prioritise students’ growth needs and promote whole person development. We organise diverse activities and learning experiences to widen students’ exposure and nurture future leaders who actively try, experiment, share, and contribute to our society and country.

| School Facilities | : | Facilities include a computer room, a library, a student activity room, MMPT, a multi-purpose room, 4 laboratories, a Geography room and a Home Economics room. A fitness centre, a STEM Maker Laboratory, a study room, and an air-conditioned canteen have recently been set up. A Chillax Commons has also been established for students to relax, promoting their well-being. The campus is well-equipped with WiFi network, and smart boards are installed in all classrooms to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching. School Improvement Programme (SIP) was completed in Sept 2005 to extend an extra usable area of 1,500 sq. M. |

| Orientation Activities and Healthy Life | : | Orientation activities for S.1 students: An S.1 Bridging Programme as well as the S.1 Orientation and Parents' Day are organised in August. Through our English bridging course, reading groups, learning skill workshops, and talks on etiquette and information literacy, we seek to equip students with the skills and knowledge to prepare for the challenges of secondary school life. Additionally, activities such as campus treasure hunt, a pizza party, and the inter-class quiz competition can help strengthen students' sense of belonging to both the school and their respective classes. The school is devoted to fostering students' whole-person development, developing students' healthy living habits and acquiring skills of dealing with adversity and temptation. Besides, the school incorporates the element of anti-drug addiction and health education in different subjects. Anti-drug Addiction Talk and Oral Health programmes are also organised for the students. |

| (4) School Green Policy | : | Our school has adopted measures to save energy and reduce waste. Solar panels have been installed on the rooftop to help our school decarbonise with solar energy. There are recycle bins on the school campus to collect recyclable materials and food waste. Smart water bottle refill stations are set up to reduce the use of plastic bottles. Elements of environmental projection have been incorporated into the curriculum; for instance, S2 Geography students will analyse the efficiency of our solar panels, while senior form students will visit Green@Community in the neighbourhood. 'Environmental Protection Group', 'Hoi Ping Little Gardeners' and 'Environmental Protection Ambassadors' all help to raise students' awareness of protecting the environment. |

| (1) Whole-school Language Policy | : | Our school uses English as MOI for all classes and all subjects other than Chinese Language, Chinese Literature, Chinese History and Putonghua. Meanwhile, we train our students to be biliterate and trilingual by providing them with a learning environment that is conducive to the learning of languages. |
| (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | 1. Our school is dedicated to cultivating an environment that is conducive to students' learning and fosters student engagement. We seek to ensure the depth and breadth of their learning, and equip them with an array of generic skills and subject-specific learning skills, laying a strong foundation for their learning. Students are encouraged to share their learning experiences and to learn collaboratively from one another. 2. To nurture their all-round development, ample opportunities are provided for students to explore their interests and stretch their potential beyond the confinement of classrooms, such as visits, talks, sharing sessions, service learning, etc. 3. Two elite classes have been established at S2 and S3 levels to better cater for the needs of our gifted students, and a school-based pull-out programme will also be set up for S2 & S3 students to foster their growth. Small-class teaching is adopted for English, Chinese and Mathematics in S1 remedial classes to address their learning needs. 4. The advancement in our school's IT infrastructure and emphasis on STEM education prepares our students for the future challenges. |
| (3) School-based Curriculum | : | 1. Electives: 3X. Based on their interests and academic abilities, students can choose 3 out of 11 elective subjects offered under our class structure and elective combination. In addition, some students can choose to take the Mathematics Extended Module I or II. 2. Curriculum highlights: Our S1-3 curriculum highlights include a comprehensive reform of English, Chinese, Mathematics, and Life & Society to equip students with essential skills for a smooth transition from primary to junior secondary education, and prepare them for senior secondary education. The Chinese and English curricula focus on skill integration and themes relevant to students' life experiences, while Mathematics enhances learning strategies like self-checking and making an error log. Life & Society adopts a project-based approach to develop students' generic skills and other essential life skills. |
| (4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum | : | 1. Elements of Values Education and National Security Education have been integrated into the school curriculum via various academic subjects and an array of learning activities, with the aims to instil the twelve priority values and attitudes in our students, and empower students to contribute positively to the society and our nation as a whole. 2. The school promotes reading as an essential part of learning through several engaging activities. Students share their favourite books during morning assemblies, fostering a culture of literary appreciation. The Chinese and English Reading Weeks and Book Fairs invite exploration of new titles, with visiting authors sharing and inspiring students with their writing journeys and life experiences to create an enriching environment that celebrates reading. 3. With our emphasis on STEM education, we seek to nurture students' innovation, collaboration and problem-solving skills with our school-based curriculum in STEM & IT. New STEM equipment, namely 3D printers, laser cutter, and robots, are set up to enrich students' learning experience. Our students are encouraged to actively partake in different competitions and activities to apply and showcase their STEM knowledge, such as Open Data Hackathon, HK GreenMech Contest, etc. 4. The advancement of our school's IT infrastructure, including upgraded Wi-Fi, smart boards, and the STEM Maker Lab, has significantly enhanced our learning environment while uplifting students' motivation. The introduction of IT tools and concepts, such as Canva, Notion, Python, artificial intelligence and information literacy, has equipped students with essential skills to navigate future challenges. 5. Our school is planning to establish a Chinese Cultural Centre, hoping to arouse students' interest in traditional Chinese culture through cultural activities, such as the art of tea serving, the tradition of 'huafu', etc. |
| (5) Life Planning Education | : | Elements of life planning have been infused into the curriculum of Life and Society at junior levels. Students are also given the opportunity to interview our alumni who are working in different professions. The Careers and Guidance Committee organises various career-related activities in order to enhance students' self-understanding and knowledge of different study paths and job opportunities. These equip them with suitable skills for their future. Alumni support enriches the opportunities for students to get career-related experience through Careers Day, mentoring and job tasting programmes. |

| (1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity | : | 1. Class teacher period and assembly period have been introduced to offer support to student growth and development; individual counselling will be provided for each S6 student to help them prepare for further studies and set goals. 2. Two elite classes are established in both S.2 and S.3 to enrich students' subject knowledge and stretch their potential. A school-based gifted programme will be set up for gifted students in S.2 and S.3 to foster their growth. 3. Our school nominates students to gifted programmes organised by external organisations to broaden their horizons. 4. For students who are lagging behind, our school offers enhancement classes for various subjects. For instance, after-school English, Chinese and Math remedial classes are offered to S.1 and S.2 students to help strengthen their foundation. |

| Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) | : | Our school encourages students to take part in both inter-school and intra-school activities. Our student organisations consist of Students' Union, four Houses and different clubs, which include academic, interest, sports and service groups. Besides, there are leadership training programmes, study tours and service programmes. We also nominate students to join different outstanding student elections, and cultural exchange programmes to widen their horizons. |
| Others | : | Our students have achieved excellent results in public examinations. Since HKDSE 2012, two of our students attained 6 5** and six students obtained 5 5**. Three of our students have been awarded a full scholarship under the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme in 2015, 2017 and 2024 to study at the University of Edinburgh and Imperial College London respectively. One of our students has been awarded the Prince Philip Scholarship to study Mathematics at the University of Cambridge in 2018. Our school lays great emphasis on students' balanced development in academic studies and extra-curricular activities. In the Inter-school Athletics Competition, our boys have won the Overall Third position in Division 1 for the 10th time since 2008. In 2022, our S.4 students won the second and third prizes in Open Data Hackathon 2022. Our S.5 students won the Global Second Prize of CodeQuest Global International Hackathon 2022 and the Silver Award of The Greater Bay Area STEM Excellence Award 2023 (HKSAR). In 2023, two S.1 teams and one S.4 team won the Champion and Second Runner-up of the junior division, and the Champion and the Best StoryMap Application Award of the senior division in the Esri China (HK) 25th Anniversary STEAM Cup. Besides, one S.2 team and one S.4 team won the Second and Third Prizes of Smart Campus Project 2023. In 2023, some S.4 students took on the challenge of designing their own insect hotel at school, enabling them to study and observe the insect inhabitants. Their commitment to environmental awareness earned them the Silver Award in the Insect Hotel Design Competition. Other students researched on ways to extract and use the oil from algal bloom as a means to preserve our water resources and ecosystem, capturing the 2nd runner-up in the Joint School Science Exhibition. In November 2023, a total of ten Hoi Ping students travelled to Yale University in the United States to compete in the Tournament of Champions of the World Scholars' Cup, after outshining competitors from around the world in the Hong Kong Regional Round and the London Global Round. There, they engaged in intellectual and collaborative discussions and debates with top students from around the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. More than 40 medals were awarded to our students in recognition of their talents and efforts, which serves as a testament to their extraordinary abilities on the global stage. Our dance team also showcased their exceptional talent at various dance competitions, earning a number of honours and gold awards. For instance, at the 60th Schools Dance Festival, the team received both the Honours Award and the Choreography Award in the Bulgarian Dance Group. |
