This objective is accomplished through informative seminars that provide students with valuable insights on healthy living. Furthermore, workshops and seminars are regularly organized for parents to foster collaboration and mutual support. To ensure the effective management of the Tuck Shop, a dedicated Tuck Shop Management Committee has been established, and regular meetings are conducted with parents to monitor and coordinate the shop's operations.

School Characteristics School Characteristics
School Management
(1)School's Major Concerns : Our school aims to develop each student's potential and foster a shared passion for learning, creating a strong sense of community. We follow the principles of truth, virtue, and family, which shape our educational approach.

Additionally, we treasure the Health Literacy and the value of life. Love, righteousness, and life are the guiding principles that drive our commitment to instilling these values in our students.

At Caritas, our main focus is on nurturing students' potential, sparking a genuine desire for knowledge, allowing their unique talents to shine, promoting a deeper understanding of Catholicism, and instilling the ethos of Caritas within them.
(2) School Management Organisation : The school implements school-based management and has various functional groups. These functional groups, including the School Improvement Team, Academic Affairs, Discipline, Guidance, Professional Staff Development, School Promotion, Student Support, Information Technology, Student Activities, Safety Management, Library, General Affairs, Religious Education, Moral and Civic Education, Life Planning, as well as the National Security Team are responsible for the daily operation of the school.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : The school’s Incorporated Management Committee was established on 1st August 2014.
(4) School Green Policy : The school emphasises environmental protection by encouraging students to actively get involved in environmental stewardship. Students have been accorded roles as "environmental ambassadors" to raise other students’ environmental awareness.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Cantonese is used as the medium of instruction for most of the subjects except for English Language, English Oral, and Language Arts lessons. One NET have been recruited to create more authentic opportunities for students to use English for communication purposes. Besides Cantonese and English, students are also required to learn Putonghua. In order to enhance the language proficiency of students, various measures have been introduced; for example, organizing various dynamic English activities, promoting a Morning Reading Session, e-Reading Schemes and English enhancement courses. The school also promotes a teacher-student reading programme – Pages of Wisdom: Teacher Recommendations Initiative. These measures are aimed at helping students to become trilingual.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : The School offers a variety of practical courses for students, aiming at boosting their creativity. We strive to foster qualities and talent to prepare them for success in the 21st century. All aspects, ranging from curriculum design to student development programmes, are implemented based on this principle. The newly established Maker Programme is also considered our best response to this trend.

In order to optimize the benefits of a small class context so as to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching, our English, Chinese and Math teaching groups are arranged based on students’ abilities. The school also hires Teaching Assistants to provide classroom support during lessons and tutorials after school. Besides academics, the Boarding Section aims to enhance students’ self-management, social maturity and self-discipline while fostering their whole-person development.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. More than 95% of the senior form students are given their first choice in selecting electives. We aim at providing students with a suitable combination of electives and enabling them to develop their full potential and to maximize their chances of admission to university.
2. Curriculum highlights: Secondary Four and Secondary Five students can also enroll for applied learning courses.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : Learning to Learn 2.0+
1. Strengthening Values Education (including Moral and Civic Education, and Basic Law Education)
2. Reinforcing the learning of Chinese history and Chinese culture
3. Extending 'Reading to Learn' to 'Language Across the Curriculum'
4. Promoting STEAM education and ITE
5. Fostering an entrepreneurial spirit
6. Diversifying life-wide learning experiences
(5) Life Planning Education : To help students plan for their future studies and careers, we will assist students in identifying their personal interests, strengths and aspirations through a variety of activities such as talks, workshops and visits. When students reach the senior grades, they are expected to maintain a fair balance between studies and life, get well prepared for their university application and take charge of their future.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : With the aim of exploring students' potential, our school has joined the Invitational Educational Programme, the aims of which are to provide appropriate support to improve students’ learning, communication and emotional management skills. To enhance teaching and learning effectiveness in the classroom, school-based materials are developed and the school curriculum is adapted in order to suit the ability of students. These measures will maximise the development of our students’ potential.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Committed to the establishment of an inclusive culture, our school adopts a whole-school approach to give support to students with special education needs. Through the deployment of various resources, we can enhance these students’ learning effectiveness and also help them integrate into school life.

Our Student Support Team, led by the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), comprises the teaching assistants, core subjects teachers, SEN Support Teacher and school social workers. The team plans, implements and reviews the work related to the support of students with SEN.

Our school makes use of the learning support grant to deploy the allotted additional resources to provide appropriate support, including employing additional teaching assistants and hiring outside professional services such as speech therapy, reading and writing skill training, social skills training, and after-school tutorial.

Additionally, to further support students with SEN, the EDB provides our school with the School-based Educational Psychology Service to develop effective mechanisms to meet the diverse educational needs. The educational psychologist has regular meetings with the Student Support Team and parents. A systematic data bank on individual students is set up, and with the professional advice of the educational psychologist, we plan and review the school-based support services together with parents. Along with that, our school releases teachers to take training courses on catering for diverse learning needs organized by the EDB. Also, there will be various activities funded by the Grant for Supporting Non-Chinese Speaking Students with SEN students, and they are aimed at creating a more harmonious and supportive environment for students with different learning needs.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : Arrangements of special assessments are made for students with specific learning disabilities. The curriculum is flexibly adapted for some classes in order to cater to learner diversity. Further, extra in-class and after-school support by teaching assistants will be arranged where necessary.
