School Facilities : Facilities to support student learning include 37 standard classrooms, as well as laboratories, computer rooms, design and technology rooms, music rooms, geography rooms, libraries, English corners, and a school history gallery that serve various teaching purposes. The school also provides space for activities like two covered playgrounds, basketball courts and a large school hall that can accommodate 800 people.
In recent years, the school has been actively developing STEAM courses. In addition to the "Amazon STEAM Center" with the animal theme, this year it has renovated and promoted the "SPACE M" aviation technology program. It is equipped with a fully dynamic flight simulation system and six sets of simulation drivers which are widely used in civil aviation pilots' training. Through the school's curriculum, advanced aviation topics are presented to students to increase their awareness of the country's top technological developments.

Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2025 ).Academic Performance 40%, Conduct 20%, Interview 25%, Extra Curricular Activities/ Connection with school 15%.
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : Form One fun day camp, Form One interest class, Form One bridging courses and orientation day for parents.
Our Parent and Teacher Association, and General Office always supervise the food provided by our tuck shop to ensure it is healthy and of good quality.
Our discipline team, counseling team and MCNE team will organize various trainings, seminars or activities to our students. This year, our school also participated in 4Rs Mental Health Charter promoted by Education Bureau to improve their awareness on physical and psychological health.

School Management
(1)School's Major Concerns : 1. To enhance self-confidence in learning and to improve learning effectiveness.

(2) School Management Organisation : Parent Teacher Association, Students Union, Teachers Union and Alumni Society contribute to school based democratic management.
Our school management committee consists of the Supervisor, Principal, parents, alumni, teachers and representatives of other professions. A minimum of ten departments and sub-committees oversee the range of student and school affairs.

(4) School Green Policy : Our school green policy is co-organized by the Moral, Civic and National Education Team and STEAM environmental protection team. There are numerous environmental protection activities, such as an organic garden, lending service for tableware, kitchen waste program and an extensive recycling program.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Our school implements a “Triliteracy and Quadrilingualism Policy”. Each junior form student must choose either Japanese or Korean as their third language of study. The three literacies are Chinese, English, and either Japanese or Korean while the four lingualisms are Cantonese, English, Mandarin, and either Japanese or Korean.
In junior form, the language of instruction is determined by class, while in senior form, it is determined by subject. Furthermore, our school places a strong emphasis on language learning that Chinese and English are taught in groups based on students' abilities to solidify their foundations and to achieve differentiated teaching effectively.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : In terms of curriculum instruction, our school provides grouped instruction in major subjects, allowing teachers to tailor materials based on students' proficiency levels. This approach facilitates a smoother transition for students when learning more complex concepts. Besides regular courses, our school also implements various programs such as "After-school Learning Support", "Summer Remedial Classes," and "Enhanced English Programs" to strengthen the learning atmosphere.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Our school has set up 16 subjects, please refer to the school website for more details.
2. Curriculum highlights:
1. Chinese, English, and Mathematics are taught in groups, tailored to students' levels to provide foundational support and advanced challenges.
2. Junior secondary students are required to study either Japanese or Korean, which can be taken as an elective in senior secondary.
3. Integrated Science in Year 9 combines Physics, Chemistry, and Biology to prepare students for senior secondary courses.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : Starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, our school will offer the IAL international curriculum for F.5 students. Students can choose between the international curriculum and the DSE curriculum based on their higher education and learning needs, catering to both overseas and local educational requirements. Our curriculum aligns with seven Learning Goals and twelve priority values and attitudes, providing a comprehensive and diverse education. Our school features special classrooms like the "Amazon Biology Classroom" and "Space M," which are integrated into our comprehensive science, biology, and STEAM courses.
The "Amazon Biology Classroom" houses nearly 50 species, with students helping as caretakers responsible for daily feeding and cleaning. This not only supports our curriculum and stimulates students’ interest in science but also fosters values like respect for life and responsibility.
Starting in F.2, our school offers an aviation program within "Space M," which includes a simulator cockpit where all F.2 students learn about aviation and astronomy.
(5) Life Planning Education : Mu Kuang English School is proactive in promoting education in life planning. Programs aimed at cultivating student’s personal interests and equipping students with various skills for their future career paths. Depending on the developmental needs of students, material relating to life planning is tailor-made for students at various levels, including material for class-teacher periods, extra-curricular activities, seminars, workshops, visits and internship programs. Thus, students’ personal growth can be fully developed.
There is a Life Planning Resource Room to provide up-to-date information about further study and employment opportunities to cater for students' individual needs, and to provide support and counselling as students plan for their futures.
In addition, the continuous cooperation with corporate partners provides F.4 and F.5 students with opportunities of internship to empower them to pursue future studies and careers.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : The School takes a holistic approach supporting individual student development and accommodating student diversity:
Curriculum planning, ability grouping are widely used in major subjects to accommodate individual differences.
The School employs educational psychologists and speech therapists to support students with special needs.
Our school also offers after-school tutoring and provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities to support students’ needs and development.
Our school has made use of the NCS-SEN Grant to provide social support services to support NCS-SEN student.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school uses "a whole school approach" to promote an inclusive culture that accommodates a range of individual differences among students. Through various whole school and in class measures our school provides a wide range of practical and appropriate support to students who have differing learning needs. Including curriculum accommodation, differentiated teaching and performance assessment. In addition, the services of educational psychologists and speech therapists as well as various types of group training are arranged to meet the needs of individual students.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : A carefully considered process takes account of individual circumstances in class promotion / detention. Tests and Examination scheduling and invigilation meet standards required for external exams.
(5) Fee Remission : Our school offers full school fee remission or 1/2 school fee remission. Needy students, including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) could apply for fee remission.

Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : Our school has established a Home-school Co-operation Committee aimed at developing mutually supportive relationships between teachers and parents, enhancing the connection with our community through the organization and participation in a variety of PTA activities.
(2) School Ethos : We are proactive in shaping students through discipline and the moral education of our students. All teachers and the school social workers actively work with students to develop self-discipline. In order to better care for our students, we assign two class teachers to each form class, while Junior Form students remain at school for lunch with their teachers.
Students' appropriate moral training occurs through assemblies, class teacher periods, and the Moral and Civic Service Reward Scheme. Students are encouraged and rewarded for their best academic performance and excellent behavior.
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : 1. To promote whole-person development and lifelong learning of students through the seven learning objectives.
2. To promote the importance of healthy lifestyles by joining the 4Rs Mental Health Charter and build self-confidence in learning by restructuring the learning framework through data analysis.
(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Teacher professional training and development is supervised by a committee that monitors the current expertise of staff and proactively plans for the future professional needs of teachers and the school.
A survey of teacher expertise, interests, school needs and future systemic demands is analyzed to develop the 3 year overall plan for teacher professional training and development.
Combine collaborative lesson planning, peer lesson observation and specific teacher professional development sessions utilise teacher expertise, external experts and academia to provide an interesting and motivating professional development program that promotes teacher pedagogical development and the alignment of teaching, learning and assessing, thus strengthening staff expertise to improve student outcomes.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : Students are encouraged to participate in group activities, in particular, community service activities; in addition, annual study tours or exchange programs are arranged for students to broaden their horizons and enhance their leadership skills.
Talent development program and Personal interest program are parts of the school-based curriculum that aim at developing students’ potential. One mainly focuses on language learning, STEAM education, and aspects of artistic ability. Students will have opportunities to participate in a wide range of activities and competitions organized by different sectors, and connect with the community. The other aims at developing students’ multiple intelligence and fostering students’ life-long interest through different learning experiences.

1. Several scholarships are designed for students:
“Scholarship for Excellence” aims to encourage students with outstanding performance in DSE who can continue their studies at Hong Kong University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Mu Kuang students have successfully applied for numerous scholarships and maintenance grants, e.g. Ng Teng Fong Scholarship, Future Stars – Upward Mobility Scholarship, Grantham Maintenance Grants and First-in-the-Family Education Fund.
2. Tu Hseuh Kwei Education Fund was established to provide financial aid to students in need of assistance to support their continued education.

Remarks : An English Immersion class is conducted in Form One to Six. The criterion for admission to the English Immersion Class is the students’ English competence. The medium of instruction in this class is English: subjects offered in English are Mathematics, Life and Society and Integrated Science. Other subjects in this class are taught in Cantonese. All classes in Chinese Medium of Instruction subjects are conducted in Cantonese except English Language lessons.
