Upholding the motto of ‘Life-Long Perseverance’ (from I-Ching), the school is committed to providing whole-person education to our students, teaching them according to their aptitude and abilities and preparing invaluable human resource for Hong Kong and our motherland, China.
The school also pays heavy attention on the balanced development of the five aspects (moral, cognitive, physical, social and aesthetic) and to nurture students’ life-long learning, allowing them to explore and develop their personal potentials.

School Facilities | : | This school is one of the biggest in the district. Besides a 1,000 seat hall, a 100 seat mini hall, a 300 seat lecture theatre called “Kan Lan Hall’, the school also has 2 basketball courts, 1 volleyball court, 2 covered playgrounds, 4 science laboratories, 3 Multi-media Computer Labs, Geography Room, English Room, Visual Art Room, Music Room, music laboratory, 2 Home Economics Rooms, Art and Design Room, Student Activity Room, 4 Meeting Rooms, Counseling Room, Social Worker Room, Student Office, Library, Self Study Room for students preparing for the HKDSE and Distance Learning classroom. Each classroom is fitted with air-conditioners, and installed with e-blackboards, computers, multi-media projectors and visualizers. Each student has their own locker. The school has 200 desktops and 100 notebooks, LAN and Wireless LAN covered throughout the whole school. Orientation Activities and Healthy Life | : | There will be a Diversity Learning Week in summer, which is designed to support new students as they begin their journey at our school. These formative days are not only meant to be educational but also meant to be fun, including campus scavenger hunts, icebreaker games, STEAM competitions, sports, musical instrument experiences, and bridging courses. Through our innovative and entertaining activities for new students, they can learn more about each other while familiarizing themselves with our school. We also organize a Form 1 Parent Day to help parents understand the school’s educational philosophy and strengthen home-school cooperation. Environmental protection is always the priority on our to-do list. It is rewarding as we achieved the third runner-up of the Green School Award. In the meantime, we promote a healthy lifestyle at school through different activities. Students and teachers share tips on healthy diets with a view to nurturing their healthy eating habits. The school also prioritizes students’ mental health. In addition to responding to the 4Rs Mental Health Charter program, the school holds a "Life Education Week" every year to actively promote positive living. |

What’s more, all subjects and departments are doing their best to cultivate our students’ sense of responsibility in terms of environmental protection. At the same time, to enhance students' environmental awareness, our school also participated in the No Straw Campaign organised by the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, Hong Kong (OPCFHK). We became a member of the "No Straw School" in Hong Kong. Our school also held a "Plastic-free Living Week" for students to practise plastic-free living and contribute to environmental protection. |
Learning and Teaching Plan | ||
(1) Whole-school Language Policy | : | In English, we set up an English learning environment in order to increase the opportunity of students immersing in an English-rich environment. We adopt a wider approach of MOI policy with the help of other non-English subjects to organize activities and offer language learning opportunities for the students. Our school has partnered with Harrow International School Hong Kong to provide a free English Drama Course to broaden students' horizons. Form One students have drama classes at Harrow International School, and English is integrated into various Science and Humanities subjects. English writing, solo verse speaking and debate workshops are also organised to comprehensively enhance pupils' English abilities. With regard to Chinese Language, the curriculum focuses on reading training. By adding Chinese cultural elements, students are encouraged to cultivate their reading habits and enhance cultural literacy in order to boost up their level of Chinese. Moreover, Chinese Week and Putonghua Week are held annually. In the annual Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, our school’s Cantonese and Putonghua groups have won numerous awards. The Chinese language curriculum uses worksheets and monthly reading themes to broaden students' horizons and cultivate an interest in reading. The School's Putonghua curriculum is standardised along the lines of the Putonghua Proficiency Test. Individual tutorials and Cantonese classes are available for pupils in need. |
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | With the establishment of the streaming system, the students’ learning diversity can be addressed. The school can clearly guide different subjects to formulate their assessment policies and procedures. The Study Council helps different subjects to analyse their tests and examination results and to inform the renewal of the school curriculum. The school promotes different means of IT learning with various learning tools in order to raise the learning and teaching efficiency and to strengthen students’ self-learning ability. Moreover, the school has started the STEAM programme and Maths Olympiad course. |
(3) School-based Curriculum | : | 1. Electives: 3X and 4X. Students may choose 1 elective from each 3X group (3-5 subjects in each X group). It is more efficient to take care of the top and bottom students. The NSS curriculum can let students choose 3 electives freely. Outstanding students may choose the forth elective. 2. Curriculum highlights: Curriculum highlights: To cater the diverse needs, from S.1 to S.6, curriculum difficulty is set based on students ability. Students are streamed into small homogeneous groups in Chinese, English and Mathematics lessons according to their achievements in the subjects. Students may also apply to Network Schools programmes and Applied Learning subjects. |
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum | : | 1. Strengthening Values Education: Integrate values education into the school development plan and all subject curricula to cultivate students' character and sense of social responsibility. 2. Moral and Civic Education: To understand more about Chinese culture and Chinese history, to strengthen social identity, to nurture students’ positive values and attitudes. 3. Reading to Learn: For the Morning Reading Schemes, morning reading sessions are arranged to encourage students to borrow books from the school library regularly and build a good reading habit. 4. Exploration Week: To explore project learning skills and nurture students the spirit of exploring knowledge and cooperation through various subjects and Life-wide Learning Week. 5. IT for Interactive Learning: We encourage teachers to conduct interactive teaching activities using electronic devices. In addition to emphasizing STEAM elements in the curriculum, we also form a "STEAM ACTIVITIES GROUP", including a series of drone, robot, laser cutting and 3D printing workshops. |
(5) Life Planning Education | : | Junior forms: Students are mainly focusing on self-recognition and nurturing the willingness of exploring different professions. At the same time, a talk on elective selection and parents’ night are organized for parents and students so that they can make the best decision according to their interest and ability. Life planning workshops for junior forms will be introduced to strengthen students' self-recognition and learning strategies. Senior forms: Students can have a better picture of the criteria of getting a place in an institution through workshops and university orientation. Besides, students can boost up their competitive edge and understanding towards the skills needed in some new industries through internship. Personal consultation meetings with classmasters and teachers of Career and Life Planning team start in F.4. |

(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity | : | 1. The four core subjects put students in groups according to their abilities in order to cater for their learning diversities and for the purpose of carrying out remedial and enhancement programmes. 2. An educational psychologist and two stationing social workers are available at school to take care of the students with different educational needs. We have a 'JCC Buddies' to help junior students adapt to the new environment while the senior form students can train their leadership skills. 3. Teachers of each subject will sit together regularly to have collaborative lesson planning to design the teaching aids and revise the curriculum in order to cater for the different learning abilities of students. Also, it is aimed to improve teaching and learning efficiency. |
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education | : | The school is fully committed to implement social integration under the support of the Education Bureau. Our Students Supporting Team, leaded by Special Educational Needs Coordinator, is founded to support students with special learning needs with a "Whole School Approach". Through the use of CEG, LSG ,Grant for Supporting Non-Chinese Speaking Students with Special Educational Needs and community resources, students are provided with timely, appropriate and diversified support services to enhance their learning effectiveness and help them integrate into campus life. |
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students | : | Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school. |
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment | : | The school adopts a continuous assessment to evaluate students’ academic performance by stages. Three exams are arranged in a school year. Special assessment arrangements are implemented for students with special educational needs, such as extending the exam time and exemptions on some papers. |
