Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2025 ).Our intake criteria are mainly based on students’ conduct and academic performance. Criteria focus on four aspects: Academic result - 30%, Conduct and attitude - 30%, Performance in the interview - 30% and Participation in extra-curricular activities - 10%.
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : Pre-S.1 Bridging Courses, Analysis of Learning Style, Orientation, S.1 Dedication Ceremony as well as Health Education Camp are held in July and August, aiming at helping students establish close relationships with teachers and cultivate a sense of belonging to school. Meanwhile, S.3 and senior form students participate in leadership training program to foster their team spirits and unlock their leadership potential.

Our school values the importance of leading a healthy life. Balanced diet and healthy lifestyle is taught through the formal curriculum of Home Economics, Physical Education and Integrated Science. Bearing the principles of environmental protection and nutrition in mind, lunch supply is decided carefully with the cooperation of Parent-Teacher Association. We also encourage regular exercise by having rope-skipping competition, Sports Day and different ball games competition annually. These recent years, the school also puts effort in promoting positive education and emotion management.

(2) School Management Organisation : The school is operated under the close cooperation and communication between School Administration Committee, Academic Committee and Student Development Committee. SKH Li Fook Hing Secondary School upholds the spirit of education of the Anglican (Hong Kong) Secondary Schools Council Limited which is to provide youth a quality and all-round education.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : Incorporated Management Committee has been established and most of the members are professionals from different areas, this greatly helps the planning and implementation of school policies.
(4) School Green Policy : Waste Reduction Policy – practise 4Rs principles in students’ everyday living, conserve resources and reduce waste. Green School Policy – sustain the practice of being a green school, encourage students to participate in green living and promote the use of environmentally-friendly facilities. Environmental Education Policy - collaborate with NGO partners to promote environmental awareness. Teachers, staff and students adopt various appropriate measures to implement "Sustainable Green Living" in the campus.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Our school’s language education policy aims at enabling our students to become biliterate and trilingual. Under the fine-tuned medium of instruction (MOI) policy, we make good use of the advantage of mother-tongue teaching to strengthen students’ high-order thinking ability. Moreover, approximately 15% of the curriculum in some junior form subjects adopt English as MOI to increase students’ interest, proficiency and confidence in using English. Besides, our school's English musicals allow students to develop their potential and build successful learning experiences. We also have Putonghua lessons in junior forms, English/Putonghua morning assembly and overseas exchange programmes to create chances for students to use these two languages.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : In order to further improve students' learning effectiveness, our teachers come up with lesson design through collaborative lesson planning and subject-based open lessons. In sync with focused lesson observations, professional exchanges and sharing are carried out to improve the quality of learning and teaching. Besides, our school has joined the HKU MOI Study to enhance our professional knowledge on catering for learning diversity.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 3X. Our School upholds the spirit of providing students a wider choice of electives among Arts, Commerce and Science subjects.
2. Curriculum highlights: Our school always emphasizes the importance of students' learning foundation. In order to maximize the learning effectiveness, students are assigned to different small ability groups in Chinese, English and Mathematics lessons. With a careful design of a school-based curriculum and catering to learners’ needs, we believe that students’ learning motivation and confidence can be enhanced. We have subjects like Business Fundamentals, Information Technology, STEAM and Life & Society to help bridge our junior form students to the senior form curriculum.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : 1. Catering Learners' Diversity: collaborative teaching, small and ability-grouping are implemented in core subjects to strengthen students' foundation.
2. Keeping abreast of educational trends and development: collaborative learning, e-learning and interdisciplinary field trips are our key projects to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness. We joined several projects led by universities in Hong Kong. These include Jockey Club Diversity at School and the University of Hong Kong MOI Study, which have enhanced teachers' professionalism on catering learning diversity. We have also participated in the Fourth Strategy on IT in Education to develop e-learning and STEAM. Tablet computers are used in S1-S3 to promote e-learning.
3. Learning through reading: Besides the school library, each class has its own class library to facilitate reading time. Moreover, writer's talks, bookcrossing, book fairs, and Reading Week are organized to promote reading culture. Reading Across Curriculum (RAC) has been introduced to promote extensive reading.
4. Moral and Civic Education: a common goal of 'Love thy community as thyself' is shared. Students participate in visits, field trips, talks to understand the development of Hong Kong, China and the world from different perspectives.
5. Gifted Education: Almost 200 students have taken part in various activities and competitions, providing a platform to unlock their potential and showcase their talents. Students have even travelled to Dubai to participate in the Asia-Pacific Youth Summit on Gifted Education with gifted students from all over the world.
(5) Life Planning Education : Our school is committed to promoting life planning and setting personal development goals among students. We aim at helping students understand and develop themselves in junior forms, while having career exploration in senior forms, thereby enabling students in S.3 and S.6 to make career planning. Our CLP Committee provides various activities at all levels, including "Self-awareness Workshop" in S.1,"My Dreams" in S.2,"Electives Selection for Senior Secondary" in S.3, "Future Planning & Career Orientation" in S.4,"Goal-setting for further studies & career" in S.5 and "Equipping for further studies and vocation" in S.6. We work with different NGOs to provide career planning programs. We hold "Self-exploration and Interview Skills Workshop", "I want to be a boss" Workshop and "Simulated Corporate Internship Programs", personal career assessment, talks on further studies, etc. In S.4 and S.5, we implement career experiential and planning courses, giving students a better understanding of different industries and their skills requirements. We also hold "Parents' Day" for S.3 and S.6 to provide parents with information on subject selection and further study.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : Our school thoroughly considers students' abilities when reviewing and adjusting the curriculum. Teachers adopt effective teaching strategies and assignments that can address students' learning difficulties to boost their confidence in learning. Besides, appropriate academic support is provided to cater to the needs of students in different forms. We provide ‘Bridging Course' for S.1 students, 'After-school Tutorial Classes' for Chinese, English and Mathematics, 'Mathematics Olympiad Class', ‘Visual Memory Skill Training Class', 'Reading Strategies Training Class' to consolidate students’ learning and improve their learning ability. We also arrange 'After-school Endeavour Class', 'Cream Project', 'Exam Skills Workshop', and external mock exams to equip students well for HKDSE.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school puts strenuous effort in building a harmonious inclusive school culture. Our Student Support Team is comprised of SEN Coordinator, Support Teachers, counselors, administrative assistants and social workers. We provide students with customized and diversified support services, including assisting non-Chinese students to integrate into our school, collaboration among the educational psychologist, clinical psychologist, supporting teachers, social worker, speech therapist and occupational therapist in providing a comprehensive student development scheme. Various types of support groups are organized to enhance students' learning effectiveness and whole-person development. Teachers are arranged to receive SEN trainings and "Parent Groups" are established to discuss strategies that support students' growth and development.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school. Our school provides after-school support, such as Chinese Culture Activities, Chinese Writing Skills Enhancement Course, etc. We provide support for students in entering other alternative Chinese Language examinations to fulfill the entrance requirements of tertiary education.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : The continuous and summative assessments in our school aim at helping students achieve academic success with an organized approach. Our school offers students with ‘After-school Tutorial Class' for Chinese, English and Mathematics to boost students' academic performance. We also have 'English Enhancement Class' and 'Mathematics Enhancement Class' for different forms. We also provide courses from Gifted Education Department to enrich the learning experience, raise their academic level and broaden the horizons of great potential students.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : Our school puts great emphasis on parent education. Through various activities, we cultivate parents’ positive thinking and jointly promote the all-round development of students. The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) also actively supports the school by organising family day trips, talks & workshops, tea gatherings. We also organize diversified activities collaborating with different parties (Social Service Club, History Club, Student Union, Alumni Association, etc), including the "Sports Day Fund-raising Event", "Food & Travel Activity", 'Mothers' & Fathers' Day Love Acts' and 'BBQ Gathering'. Besides, student scholarships are set up to support students' academic improvement and achievement.
(2) School Ethos : Our school values the establishing of a simple and humble ethos and nurturing our students’ character with integrity and sincerity. We provide personalized care and guidance to students in assemblies and class teacher periods. It is hoped to encourage students to develop their self-esteem and a positive attitude towards life. We hope all SKHLFHSS students possess the following qualities: S-Self-respecting; K-Kind; H-Hopeful; L-Learned; F-Forward-looking; H-Honest; S-Self-motivated and S-Serving.
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : In line with the curriculum reform "Optimization of Core Subjects in Senior Secondary Schools", school timetable has been reviewed to release lesson time and give more flexibility to the curriculum to create space for students and provide more diversified learning experiences. Under the new plan, students can participate in "Other Learning Experiences" during school hours (e.g. social services, life planning classes, emerging sports, etc.),‘Life-wide Learning Activities’, etc. during class time. In the school-based curriculum, we promote Cross-curricular Learning, Project Learning, Reading Across Curriculum (RAC), etc., allowing our students to become self-directed learners and broaden their knowledge in different subjects. To consolidate students’ learning and improve academic performance, numerous policies: Lesson Study, Collaborative Lesson Planning, Homework Policy, S.1 Bridging Course, After-school Enrichment Classes, DSE Exam Skills Preparation Class, DSE Mock Exams, etc. are carried out each year. In recent years, our local university admission rate and HKDSE value-added performance continue to rise. In addition, we offer Applied Learning which emphasizes on practice and theory linked to broaden professional and vocational fields as an elective in our senior secondary curriculum.
Our school actively promotes students' physical and mental health. We hold "Mental Health @ School" Health Week regularly, in which different stress relief activities and mental health-related workshops are organised to enhance the well-being of teachers and students. We continue strengthening values education through arranging different learning experiences. Life planning education is conducted in both junior and senior forms to help students understand their ambitions, needs, interests and abilities. In addition, the school has introduced a "Career Experience" program to let students understand the requirements of different industries.
(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Our school upholds the belief ‘Our Teachers are Our Future’. We aim at developing a learning community that puts emphasis on enhancing the quality of curriculum design and the conduction of lesson study so as to enhance teaching effectiveness. Partnerships with Education Bureau and institutions, Staff Development Programs, Joint-school Open Lessons, etc. are held to encourage continuous professional development and further improve teaching quality. These recent years, our key areas are assessment literacy which caters to learners' diversity, e-learning, cross-curriculum field trips and reading scheme. Our Principal and teachers are often invited to share their professional teaching experience in other schools or other countries. Our school has been invited by the Education Bureau to be the "IT in Education Centre of Excellence (CoE)" for five consecutive years (2019-2024), providing professional training and support for teachers in e-learning.
We have been invited by the Education Bureau to become an "Information Technology Education Center of Excellence" for five consecutive years (2019-2024), providing professional training and support for teachers' e-learning to the school sector. This year, our school has been recognized by Google Education as a "Google Reference School" and is currently the first aided secondary school in Hong Kong to receive this honor. All teachers in our school have obtained the qualification of "Google Certified Educators" which deepens their interaction with students and improve teaching effectiveness.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : Other Learning Experiences is a vital platform to help students gain successful exploration and diversified learning experiences. Through a variety of school clubs and extra-curricular activities, including academic events, interest groups, sports teams, uniform groups, volunteering services, religious, artistic and cultural activities, students are able to build up their confidence, discover their talent and potential, establish close relationships with teachers and develop a sense of belonging to school. Students particularly have outstanding performance in English Musical, Handbell Team, Volleyball Team, Taekwondo Team, Social Service Team and Leadership. Our school will make good use of the Life-wide Learning Fund to enrich students' learning experiences in different key learning areas.
Others : Our school ethos is to be simple and humble. We take a whole-school approach of having disciplining and counselling going hand-in-hand. ‘Dual Class Teacher System’ is implemented to provide better facilitation to our students. We received a special award from Hi-Five Student Engagement Award Scheme in 2020 and another Enhancement Award in 2021 for promoting positive relationships between students and teachers. Students are very active in volunteering. In 2022, our school won the Hong Kong Volunteer Caring School Award, the 2023 Jockey Club Charity Annual Top Ten Caring Schools and the school that actively participated in "YM Volunteer@SCHOOL". We have a diversified junior form curriculum and emphasizes daily-life applications to enhance students' learning interest. Moderate amount of homework and interactive classroom are some of our characteristics. STEAM courses and e-learning programs are carried out to cultivate students' collaboration skill, critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills. Under such balanced curriculum, our students won various awards, including the Merit Award in the 2023 'XR Travel across Major Fields of National Security' Design Competition, the Group Championship and eighth place in the RoboMaster Youth Competition (Hong Kong Station) , the Distinction Award & Judge's Special Project Award in IEEE Hong Kong Pre-University STEM Student Conference 2022, the Best Performance Award and the Best Design Award in Japan's Human Academy Robot School Competition, the Second Prize in the Race to the line Micro:bit, etc. The co-curricular activities are diversified, which can explore and develop students' potential and show their highlights. For five consecutive years, our school received the IAIE 'Inviting School Fidelity Award' and 'Golden Fidelity Award'. Our teachers received ‘Excellent IT Teacher Award’, 'Outstanding Mentor Award', 'International Outstanding e-Learning Award' and 'IAIE Inviting Teacher Award'. The students have repeatedly won inter-school awards, including representing Hong Kong and winning the Certificate of Honor in the 2023 Asian International Mathematical Olympiad Open Malaysia Finals, winning the Merit Award of the Secondary School Group in the 2024 "The Analects of Confucius" Hong Kong Academic Essay Competition, the Elite Cup Essay Writing Competition, the First Prize in Hong Kong Senior Secondary Category Champion of the Xi Zhen Hui House Virtual Chinese Art Museum Cultural Relics Study Essay Competition, the Hong Kong Budding Poet (English) — Poet of the School Award, 2024 Hong Kong School Elite Volleyball Competition First Runner-up, and Secondary School Inter-School Volleyball Competition (Hong Kong and Kowloon) (Group 1) Men’s Group A- Fourth place, etc. The school's handbell team won the gold medal in the Hong Kong Joint School Music Competition 2024 and has also represented the school in Australia to participate in the World Handbell Music Festival and Performance. The school encourages students to exchange overseas to broaden their horizons. In these recent years, they have gone to the Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Yunnan, Shanghai, Seoul, Taipei, and Kentucky in the United States to learn more about the motherland, understand different cultures, strengthen their English and various skills as well as understand the situation of further studies.
