School Facilities : This is a well-facilitated school with multi-media facilities installed in all classrooms for the diversity of learning activities. Besides the school hall, we have many special rooms for different purposes, such as ACE Fitness Centre, I Love Music Room (with recording studio and band practice room), Dream Room (Career and Life Planning Centre), STEAM & Aviation Centre (equipped with Helicopter simulator and Fixed-wing simulator), , the Computer Room, Library, The Lyceum (Study Room and Recreational Area), English Corner, Café Géographie (equipped with facilities for students to learn latte art), Visual Arts Room (equipped with digital illustration software and a corner for art appreciation), TYH Tea House, Dance Room, Student Activity Room, Student Inspirers’ Room, Student Union Room, Counseling Room and Resource Centre for Parents. Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : 1. F.1 Orientation activities and F.1 Parents' Day are organized in July.
2. Bridging Courses for Mathematics, English, STEAM and study skills are organized during summer holidays to help F.1 students to adapt to the new school life.
3. We establish a peer support network at the beginning of the school year to help new students integrate into campus life.
4. Through Life Education, students learn to cherish their own lives and respect others so that their holistic health and positive life values can be developed.

School Management
(1)School's Major Concerns : 1. Promote self-learning by cultivating students' generic skills and fostering deep learning.  
2. Promote positive education, cultivate students’ positive thinking, and enhance their wellness.
(2) School Management Organisation : School-based management is implemented in our school. The committees are Learning & Teaching, School Ethos and Culture, Student Affairs and School Affairs and Development. School Policy Committee plans school development strategies, leads our school to develop 'Invitational Education' and coordinates cross-committee affairs so that the goals of whole person development can be achieved.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : Our School Management Committee was formed since the establishment of the school and was registered as IMC in 2007.
(4) School Green Policy : The school strives to promote and practise environmental protection. Through various environmental management practice and educational activities, we strive to raise the awareness of environmental protection and conservation among all students and staff so that they will embrace the environmentally-friendly attitude and lead a green life. In order to transform P.O.H. 80th Anniversary Tang Ying Hei College into a GREEN school, our school is equipped with various energy-saving apparatus and also takes different environmental protection measures.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Principle: Under the policy of promoting 'mother-tongue teaching' and achieving 'bilingual proficiency' as well as adopting STEAM education, students starting from junior form levels are exposed to ample opportunities to practise and use English so as to enhance their ability to learn in English and to equip them for further study and work. To enhance English learning environment, in some lesson time in Integrated Science and Home Economics, F.1 students will have chances to engage in extended learning activities conducted in English while English is adopted as the MOI in Mathematics. Measures: 1. Introducing a series of activities to enrich English learning environment: English Morning Assembly, English lunchtime activities, English Ambassador Scheme and English Drama Club. Students are encouraged to participate in various English competitions. To increase interactive learning opportunities among students, English Corner as an activity centre and a self-accessed English learning centre is equipped with multiple tablets and various e-learning packages are used; 2. Hiring of Native English Teachers to strengthen students' communication skills; 3. Implementing a range of after-school learning support programmes.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : We aim at creating a warm and excellent learning environment for our students so as to cultivate positive values and the right learning attitude in them. To make the learning process more student-centered, our lessons involve interactions and group activities to cater for individual learning needs. We also provide a lot of learning skills trainings for our students through utilizing information technology and facilitating students to produce projects for different learning topics. Through these activities, students' multiple intelligence can be developed. School-based curriculum is introduced to give support to academically gifted/underprivileged students and to cater for learning differences. Students are encouraged, with the help of IT, to deliver presentations and to engage in project work on specific themes. Gifted Education Committee is set up so as to provide school-based courses for students with outstanding academic performance. Also, visit tours and joint-school exchange programmes will be arranged to top talents to broaden their horizons. Emphasis is put on cultivating students' reading habit and creativity, and motivating their initiative in learning. To broaden students' scope and depth of knowledge, multiple Reading Schemes are implemented: Reading Lesson in junior forms cultivating students' habit in reading books, newspapers and journals in both Chinese and English; Training of reading skills in accordance with the Chinese and English curricula; 'Reading Star' scheme; Book recommendation in morning assembly; participate in 'Popular Reading Award Scheme'; invite well-known authors to give speeches; organize book exhibition on special themes and so on. STEAM education not only cultivates students’ interest in Science, Technology and Mathematics, but also strengthens their ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills across different STEAM disciplines. Through practical learning experience using advanced technologies such as programming, AI and IOT, students’ creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills can be nurtured so that they can become lifelong learners in STEAM.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Each student can choose 2 or 3 subjects from the following: Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Information and Communication Technology/Chinese History/Geography/Business, Accounting and Financial Studies/Economics/Tourism and Hospitality Studies/Mathematics (M2)/Physical Education/Visual Arts/Applied Learning
2. Curriculum highlights: (1) Provide students with a variety of subject choices, including Elective subjects and modules, to cater for their differences in learning interests, abilities and needs; (2) Help students build a strong knowledge base to prepare them for future studies; (3) Develop lifelong learning skills, positive values and attitudes to meet the needs of the current society; (4) Strengthen assessment for learning in order to achieve the goal of lifelong learning; (5) Bridging between the junior and senior curricula.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : By incorporating the Four Key Tasks within and across the teaching and learning in the Key Learning Areas, our school aims to facilitate students' capabilities to construct knowledge, develop their generic skills and help them cultivate positive values and attitudes.
(5) Life Planning Education : 1. Adhering to the concepts of 'student-oriented, multiple talents, diversified pathways', our school aims to help our students develop a positive outlook on life and decision-making ability through a series of life planning courses and activities, so that they can be responsible for their own life planning and realise their future life plans. We also take the 5P concept of 'Invitational Education' as a reference to formulate a blueprint for students' life planning development by establishing priorities for development in every school year and incorporating with a diversified life planning development plan. 2. We promote a whole-school approach in life planning education, cross-curriculum, executive departments and class building. 3. Emphasis is placed on career planning education, with the curriculum covering knowledge, attitudes and skills. Also, experiential activities are the focus in junior forms, while senior high emphasizes guidance on further studies and employment, decision-making skills, and personalized career planning. 4. To promoting individualized career planning, teachers' guidance and students' reflection are emphasized. 5. We aim at nurturing the cognition of career planning and create different opportunities for career planning activities. A leadership team (Career Planning Ambassadors) will be organized so as to help students develop their potential and set targets to prepare for their future.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : 1. After-school learning support programmes; 2. Smaller teaching group size in core subjects in senior forms (4 classes split into 5 groups); 3. Group teaching in Chinese and English in junior forms (2 classes split into 3 groups).
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school is dedicated in advocating Inclusive Education and we adopt a Whole-school Approach to cater for learner diversity. Through the use of various grants and resources, we provide diversified support to help students achieve better academic results and enjoy a happy school life. Our Student Support Team includes Educational Psychologist, Speech Therapist, social workers, teachers and student counsellors. To cater for the different needs of our students, we offer a wide range of support programmes, including a school-based Dyslexia Program and social skills training group conducted by our teachers, the implementation of the Individual Education Plans (IEP) which are monitored by our Educational Psychologist. There are also Speech Training sessions and special examination accommodation measures.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school; and hiring additional manpower and/or translation/interpretation services to facilitate the communication with parents.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : On top of the two annual examinations, there are also two uniform tests. Our school stresses continuous and diversified assessment strategy. We look at students' performance in quizzes, assignments, book reports, projects and so on, to attain an overall assessment of students' knowledge, learning skills and learning attitude.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : To promote home-school co-operation, our school established the Parent-Teacher Association, which regularly holds meetings between parents and teachers and organizes family activities, education programmes and workshops to enhance home-school relationships. With parental involvement, it is hoped that parents and teachers could work together to nurture our younger generations and raise their holistic achievement.
(2) School Ethos : 1. We follow Pok Oi Hospital's motto 'We Love, We Care, We Serve' to nurture our students, with emphasis on simplicity and elegance as our school ethos, to establish a caring school, and to foster high-quality citizens.
2. We promote invitational education. Through the factors of people, places, policies, programs and processes, students' values of "care", "optimism", "respect" and "trust" can be cultivated.
3. We adopt 'Two Form-Teachers Policy' to give more love and care to students and to provide diversified class-based activities.
4. Through school curriculum like Life Education, we systematically plan the morning assembly and weekly assembly sessions throughout the year to provide a wide range of moral and civic education activities and sharing as a platform for spiritual exchange between teachers and students.
5. We set up a social service group so as to enable students to reflect on the value and meaning of life by serving others, and to cultivate students' civic responsibility, empathy and positive values.
6. Through training, services and other practical activities, students will expand their horizons from the three levels of "enrichment", "contact with society" and "facing the world" so that their leadership qualities and thinking abilities can be enhanced.

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Our school values teachers' quality and their professional development and aims at establishing a professional learning community. In recent years, we have promoted ‘‘Invitational Education’ and developed a universal potential education and elite education with the framework of Hong Kong gifted education development.
Through active participation in training, sharing, regular meetings and collaboration periods, teachers will share their successful development experiences. We will plan strategically and incorporate the ideas of 'Invitational Education' into teacher training activities in order to build an excellent team of teachers who share the educational philosophy to 'guide students to success'.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : 1. Life-Wide Learning Day
We organise "Life-Wide Learning Day" to integrate essential growth and learning elements so as to meet students' needs according to their form levels. For instance, we organise overseas visit and tours, project learning, leadership training and volunteer services to enhance students' confidence, broaden their vision and nurture them to be more socially responsible. At last we hope our students’ initiatives and commitment to face challenges can be boosted.
2. Extra-Curricular Activities
We arrange "Happy Friday" program for Secondary 1 to 5 students so as to enable them to experience different activities and develop their potential. We offer more than 40 extra-curricular activities in the categories of academics, sports, art, music, interests and services. We established an ice hockey team last year, and this year we will have a pickleball team.
3. Leadership Training
Our school has different leaders and service teams. Through a variety of training activities, we focus on training student leaders to develop their potential and strive for excellence.
Others : In 2017, our school obtained 'Inviting School Award' from International Alliance for Invitational Education. In 2019, we were awarded 'Inviting School Fidelity Award'. Also, in 2021, our school received with 'Inviting School 2nd Silver Fidelity Award'. Last year, our school was once again honoured with 'Inviting School 3rd Silver Fidelity Award'. In the future, we will continue to implement Invitational Education and focus on the school major concern ‘In Search of Truth with Positivism and Self-directed Learning’. Through the courses and activities related to the new focus, we hope to cultivate students’ self-efficacy, growth mindset and enhance their sense of wellness.
In order to broaden students' horizons, our school organizes overseas exchange tours every year to provide students with opportunities to explore and exchange with local students and organizations. (Students who have financial needs could apply for Rainbow Funds if they wish to join any exchange or study tours.)
Our school has outstanding performances in various inter-school competitions. Our students were awarded a large number of merit certificates and prizes in both Chinese and English entries of the School Speech Festival. In Chinese language, our students won prizes in national writing competitions.
In terms of STEAM education, our students won prizes in the "STEM in PE Design Competition" and the BIM Competition 2024.
As for Sports, we acquired many awards in a number of inter-school competitions. The hockey team, which was established last year, won the fourth place in the Hong Kong School Ice Hockey League, and our student Carson Li was awarded the TEAM MVP (Most Valuable Player Award). Additionally, our students represented Hong Kong in the baseball championship and judo competition.
Besides, in music aspect, our students are actively involved in activities and performances, and have shown their talents in many competitions. Last year, our students won numerous awards in several competitions.
In the field of visual arts, our students won gold and silver awards in external painting competitions.
