School Facilities : On top of standard facilities, our school has been financed by the QEF. We can also provide students with quality education amenities such as the Multi-purpose Lecture Room, the Parent-Teacher Resources Centre, Sport Science Laboratory; a Religious Room, a small Chapel, a computerized library, etc. are also established. One set in size of 8.3 square meters and two sets in size of 1.8 square meters of LED Display Screens are installed on the covered playground and in the school hall respectively. Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : S.1 Summer Bridging Course offers a variety of activities to our S.1 newcomers every year. Those activities enable the students to understand the importance of good discipline, life-planning and the value of teamwork. One of our school managers who is an experienced doctor of chiropractic provides free chiropractic examination services for the students. This also allows them to have a deeper understanding of their chiropractic condition. On the other hand, students are encouraged to participate in games which equip them with basic knowledge of our school and environment. The English Fun Day aims at enriching students' proficiency of English through different kinds of games and activities.

School Management
(1)School's Major Concerns : 1. To optimize curriculum development and enhance the academic atmosphere;

2. To respect traditions, instill a sense of responsibility, and cultivate exemplary and healthy talents.
(2) School Management Organisation : Our school administrative structure is comprised of two domains, namely “Learning and Teaching” and “Students Support”. Moreover, the Steering Committee and Finance Committee supervise the school’s day to day operation and resource management in alignment with our school major concerns. In the recent ESR report (May, 2019), our school was complimented for having a communication platform for every involved party during the process of formulating new policies. Also, the teachers' handbook was commended of the variety of information complied.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : The Incorporated Management Committee of the school was established on 2 September 2013. It is composed of experienced persons from the community. The main aim of the IMC is to set the right directions and strategies for the school.
(4) School Green Policy : Leading our students to the goal of sustainable development is one of our school aims. In order to enhance students' awareness of energy-saving and green living concepts, our school participates in the ‘Jockey Club Energy Saver in Schools Project’.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : To facilitate the learning of English through language-across-the-curriculum, the policy of medium of instruction will be launched according to different abilities of the students and characteristics of subjects. In junior forms, we fully utilize the flexibility given by the EDB with extended learning activities in English proportion to 25% of the lesson time. There is a gradual adoption of using English as MOI at junior and senior secondary levels. To enrich English learning environment, we adopt team-teaching and split-class teaching from Form 1 to Form 6 and organize a wide variety of activities. In 2019, our F.1 boys were the winner in choral speaking at the 71st Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival. Putonghua Morning Assembly and the Curriculum Review on Putonghua and Chinese Language are conducted to enhance the effectiveness of the learning of Chinese Language and enrich the Putonghua learning environment.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Through regular curriculum review, a variety of learning strategies and continuous professional development, we enhance the effectiveness of our teaching, instill in students positive attitudes, develop students' generic, self-regulated and lifelong learning skills and improve their performance in public examinations. By creating positive and proactive learning atmosphere, students' learning motivation and potential are boosted and stretched.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 3X. Total No. of electives: 15 (including Applied Learning); Total No. of subject combinations: 63.
2. Curriculum highlights: To enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching, the curricula of all subjects have been tailor-made to suit students' needs and interests. Knowledge, skill and attitude are explicitly nurtured in the junior forms so that the student could transit to the senior forms smoothly. Application of knowledge & generic skills in an integrative manner as well as an entrepreneurial spirit are fostered through a variety of life-wide learning. IT in education and STEM have been the main focus in the curriculum development recently. Students could be well-prepared for the future's learning as well as social needs.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : To provide students with a pleasant reading environment, the school has set up a reading corner on the rooftop and a digital library. To help students cultivate the habit of reading, a 'Reading Across the Curriculum Scheme' has been implemented. Under the Scheme, morning reading sessions, in which a wide range of reading materials are chosen for students, are incorporated into the timetable. Students are then invited to do reading sharing in class to help develop presentation skills. At home, students are required to complete on-line reading tasks daily both in Chinese and English. Reading is also promoted through activities co-organized by the library and different KLAs. Generic skills and positive values are developed through the learning and teaching of KLAs and other learning activities. Students acquire knowledge and skills through a variety of learning activities involved in projects. Self-directed, self-regulated and self-reflecting approaches of learning are promoted through project learning co-arranged by KLAs. The school implements mobile learning gradually in order to enhance the interaction during classes. In addition, the school encourages students to participate in exchange programs with National Education Centre. Our students have joined study tours to the Mainland, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Seoul, New Zealand etc. We aim at broadening our students' horizons through these kinds of activities.
(5) Life Planning Education : The school places great importance on life planning education and is dedicated to promoting it through a comprehensive approach across the entire school. This initiative helps students understand their personal interests and abilities, raises their awareness of career aspirations and self-management, and enables them to understand the demands of the working world, thus allowing them to effectively plan their future lives. Students are encouraged to reflect on their strengths, interests, and values through class teacher lessons and various activities, assisting them in exploring further education and employment options. Additionally, the school integrates life planning elements into the curriculum, enabling students to connect the knowledge they acquire with real-world work or future pathways. In recent years, the school has also actively responded to new educational trends by collaborating with the CLAP@JC program to provide student-centered personal counseling for developing career development roadmaps and to create meaningful connections for students with the working world. The school also offers applied learning courses that link careers with academic subjects, providing deeper insights into the demands and development opportunities in different professional fields. To enhance students' understanding of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET), various subjects and committees work together to provide diverse career experience opportunities that allow students to transfer knowledge from the classroom to the workplace. Examples include summer internship programs, corporate visits, and alumni career activities. These opportunities give students the chance to learn about job content and requirements in different industries, helping them explore personal interests, realize their potential, and set goals.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : We have established Students Support Team to help students to develop study plans through the coordination of different shareholders. To cater for learning diversity, our school has introduced a variety of approaches, such as curriculum reviews, tailoring different teaching strategies, class arrangement, collaboration with other professionals in education, etc.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : The school has successfully developed an inclusive and caring culture. A whole-school approach to promote integrated education is adopted. With the introduction of various curriculum designs, diversified teaching strategies, tiered assignments and appropriate assessment adjustments, students' learning effectiveness is maximized. The Student Support Group has been established to support the local and non-Chinese students with special education needs, especially in helping those to apply for the corresponding assessment adjustments at the public exam in order to improve the fairness of the exam.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school; and hiring additional manpower and/or translation/interpretation services to facilitate the communication with parents. Also, we offer training on social skills and interpersonal skills to the students.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : According to the recommendations given by the HKEAA, adaptation for learning and assessment will be provided for students with special education needs.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : To foster Home-School cooperation, parent representatives are invited to join our IMC through election to jointly manage the school. Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is keen on promoting parent education, we organize workshops and talks to enhance their parenting skills. Also PTA holds various types of interest classes and parents-children activities to let parents and children share memorable moments together. Apart from these, PTA invites parent volunteers to help facilitate the school’s events and community projects, e.g. uniform donation project, Caritas Charity Bazaar. Besides, PTA provides scholarships for students with excellent academic results or sports achievements, and for those who make gradual improvement in academic.
(2) School Ethos : The school is dedicated to creating a nurturing learning environment and promoting positive education on campus. It continuously enhances values education and fosters students' self-discipline, love, and mutual respect, while also encouraging responsibility. Our goal is to cultivate positive attitudes through "Whole Person Development" programs and instill the core values of "Truth", "Justice", "Love", "Life" and "Family". The motto for this year is "To respect traditions, instill a sense of responsibility, and cultivate exemplary and healthy talents." To achieve this, the school has implemented various policies and activities. These include prioritizing students' well-being through classroom management, maintaining regular communication with students and parents, organizing Theme Days, leadership and discipline training programs, community service schemes, career-planning programs, and award schemes like the Multi-faceted Excellence Students Award. The school also provides scholarships to outstanding individuals through the Parent-Teacher Association and Old Boys' Association to encourage excellence in public examinations.
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : This year, a new three-year development plan is implemented to enhance student learning quality and cultivate a positive academic atmosphere. This plan will employ various strategies to achieve its objectives. Additionally, students will be able to engage in diverse learning activities to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Chinese traditions. The ultimate goals are to boost their national identity recognition and instill a sense of responsibility among students, encouraging a proactive attitude and advocating a healthy lifestyle.
Moreover, the school attaches great importance to the five core values of Catholic education, namely, Life, Truth, Love, Family and Justice, in order to provide students with a holistic education.
(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Our school actively promotes continuous professional development for our teachers. The External School Review team affirmed the well-organized activities of our continuous professional development. It stated that different varieties of workshops and trainings were held in order to enrich teachers' understanding of the latest educational policies and teaching strategies. The school also made great efforts to develop spiritual education for teachers. Training and sharing activities were also provided by our sponsoring body to strengthen the leadership of our mid-level leaders. We have invited a number of scholars in tertiary education to assist us in our continuous professional development for our teachers; our teachers actively participate in various workshops and seminars to enhance their professional development. The total number of hours of continuous professional development of all teachers is 3503 in the academic year 2023-2024. On average, each teacher was engaged in about 59 hours of professional development activities.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : The school works in conjunction with students' "Other Learning Experiences" to inspire their potential and cultivate a lifelong interest in learning. There are a total of 36 extracurricular activities, primarily divided into four main categories: Sports, Academic, Uniformed Groups and Religious as well as Interests and Arts, coordinated by a student council elected by the students. Our students frequently excel in inter-school competitions throughout Hong Kong. They have secured championships in the Hong Kong Inter-Secondary School Rugby Sevens Competition (A grade), the Inter-School Football Competition (A grade), the Inter-School Handball Competition (A grade), and the Infrastructure Building Competition for Secondary Schools. Moreover, they obtained 3rd place in the Junior Division of the Annual Mini Robocon HK. Additionally, the athletics team has maintained a continuous record of 25 years in the highest-level (D1) competitions. The school also frequently organizes various comprehensive learning activities, such as overseas study tours, joint school English oral practices, exchanges with sister schools in mainland China, and the Evangelization Variety Show.
