Various schemes and activities such as English Speaking Days and English dramas are organized so as to build up students' confidence in speaking English. The school also strives hard to enhance students' proficiency in Chinese and Putonghua by organizing activities like singing contests and debate.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Our school employs “Student-Centred Pedagogy” and places stress on our students’ participation during the lesson. Through various co-curricular activities like outdoor writing, field trips and study tours, the goals of “Life-wide Learning” are accomplished and students’ horizons are broadened. The school has also developed a project learning framework in junior forms. Cross-curricular projects are conducted by different subjects in order to enhance various generic skills. In recent years, subject panels are required to conduct a holistic review on the implementation of their subjects and formulate strategic measures in their teaching programs so as to strive for higher teaching and learning efficacy.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: All Form 4 students can choose 3 elective subjects. In addition to the common elective subjects, the school also offers The Extended Part of Mathematics – Algebra and Calculus (M2), Music and Japanese.
2. Curriculum highlights: To facilitate a smoother transition to NSS Curriculum, our school provides students in junior forms with project learning experience in PSHE and Science subjects. Students are encouraged to have autonomy in the self-inquiry process so as to hone their self-learning skills. Moreover, taster programmes of Economics and BAFS are also introduced to F.3 students so that they could make their best choices in NSS1 subject selection.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : After years of implementation, the Four Key Tasks are well developed. Students take part in ERS and other reading related activities. All Key Learning Areas help stress the advantages of reading in subject level. As for project learning, a task force on project-based learning was set up to organize this new mode of learning in junior forms so as to help our students master its techniques and skills. Our students’ ethics and moral sense are also promoted by means of the subject "Moral and Civic Education", alongside with serviced learning like visiting elderly and special needs children. All subjects employ plenty of IT resources in Learning and Teaching while some of them also provide students with online platforms for self-access learning.
(5) Life Planning Education : To facilitate students’ life planning, the Careers Committee of our school organizes various activities throughout the year. Apart from individual career guidance, there are assemblies, form teacher periods, workshops and sharing sessions of alumni to enhance students’ self-understanding, raise their career awareness and hence help students to make informed choices on their own study paths. Students are also encouraged to join career exploration activities organized by universities or other organizations so as to equip themselves with necessary skills.

Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : TYTC aims to provide all our students with essential life-long learning experiences for whole-person development so that they can become future leaders. Therefore, not only does our school place a lot of emphasis on developing students’ intellect through helping them achieve their academic potentials, we also encourage students to make constructive use of their leisure time to develop their leadership skills as well as spirit of serving community. This could be fully reflected by the mature establishment of over 40 student bodies that are classified under six major categories, namely Students’ Union, houses, prefect team, service groups (including Civic Education Student Ambassadors & Big Brothers and Sisters Scheme), clubs (including interest classes & uniform units) and school teams (including sports, academics & cultural teams). Our Dance Team, Robotics Team & Quiz Team have demonstrated outstanding performance with countless awards received. Meanwhile, we offer distinctive student bodies like Florista Club, Astronomy Club and Rope-skipping Team. Furthermore, Form 6 Graduation Cup, TYTCians Charity Carnival and Multi-intelligence Competition are the signature programmes of our school. In order to hone our students’ leadership skills and develop their creativity, TYTC has established a comprehensive leadership training programme. The programme also helps to pass the precious experience from one generation to another which further promotes and develops Life-wide Learning Activities effectively and continuously at school.
Others : TYTC has been nurturing students to perform outstandingly in academics all along with no lack of straight-A academic achievers. In 2021, TYTCian Chiu Yi-nap was honoured as a super top scorer by attaining 5** in all eight subjects taken in HKDSE. We are also proud to have witnessed the accomplishments of our 10A top-scorer in HKCEE and our 5A elite in HKALE before.

As EDB has allowed TYTC to fully resume face-to-face classes (whole day), our students will continue to enjoy life-wide learning through a wide variety of after-school activities, which can be perfectly manifested in our school motto: "Treasure the past with a greatful heart and embrace the future with confident humility".
