Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2025 ).The selection criteria are as follows: 1. Rank Order of the applicants' academic record (50%); 2. Conduct grade, extra-curricular activities, service, awards, interview performance and others (50%).
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : A 2-week summer bridging program incorporating core subject knowledge, English Presentation and adaptation skills to prepare students for upcoming challenges of secondary education is in place. Newly arrived mainland students are targeted for quick settling in S.1 through a program titled "My new world—summer page". S.1 Parents' Day to disseminate the directional plan of school development and expectation on new students run regularly in every summer. An IT workshop for parents of new students to raise awareness of information technology education in the school is organized. S.1 orientation and Assembly Etiquette workshops in conjunction with Moral Training Camp to boost the communication skills, resilience and social interaction of students are school routines. Physical Fitness Check for S.1 and First Aid courses for all junior form students to enhance their adaptability are run as usual. Class streaming, Self-regulatory revision class, Enrichment and Remedial courses to boost students' learning capacity are developmental policies.
The school health program report indicates by the Health Department that the School has made good progress in promoting health and has been recognized as an "Action School," with achievements made.

School Management
(1)School's Major Concerns : 1. To promote the “Fung Ling spirit” by focusing on the development of Form 1 students.
2. To implement curriculum reform measures, enhance students’ language, self-directed learning and innovation and technology abilities and develop perseverance and hardworking learning attitudes.
3. To continue to cultivate in students the spirit of “enlightening and improving oneself” with Chinese culture as the main focus, emphasize the attitudes of abiding by the law, integrity, perseverance and industriousness, promote a healthy and positive lifestyle and a school culture of appreciation and gratitude.
(2) School Management Organisation : School Administrative Committee is set up as subordinate of I.M.C. to oversee developmental strategies of the school. The interests of different stake-holders are well communicated through various channels for self-improvement and pursuit of excellence.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : IMC was founded in 2008 to realize school-based management and the spirit of school motto of "Enlighten with Wisdom, Manifest with Compassion", complemented by whole-person development. All stake-holder managers play critical roles in formulating developmental plans and strategies from macro-perspective angles.
(4) School Green Policy : Student Receives Gold Award in the Junior Category of the "Green Wave: We Can Reduce Carbon Emissions - Fung Shiu Yu Cup" Hong Kong Youth Participation Incentive Program Organized by Oisca International Hong Kong in 2023; Horticulture Corner, rooftop garden and hydroponic Garden set in place. Student also donated the produce to those in need during visits to elderly individuals living alone. In 2025, they achieved outstanding results, winning 4 golds and 2 silvers in the junior secondary category of the "Hong Kong Flower Exhibition" organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. They also secured third place in the Green Technology Creative Competition hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The School participates in the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department's " Solar Harvest" program, installing solar panels on the rooftop to promote an eco-friendly and energy-saving campus.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : All language teachers possess specialized qualifications to enhance students' bilingual and tri-dialect skills. Native English Teachers facilitate diverse activities, including English Across Curricular lessons for junior students. An English-rich environment is fostered through the school's e-learning platform. The school actively prepares students for competitions like the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival and Writing Contest, yielding impressive results. Notably, students excelled in the "Liwen Cup" 3rd Chinese Culture and Tourism Knowledge Competition, securing individual and team 2nd place and 3rd place awards. They also attained significant success in the 76th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (2025), achieving 25championship, 5 first runners-up, and 5 second runners-up titles.
Additionally, students received the special award in the senior secondary category of the "Secondary School Reading Exchange Activity Hong Kong District Essay Writing Competition," organized by the Shenzhen Reading Month Organizing Committee.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Teacher work is recognized "The School effectively utilizes existing mechanisms to systematically coordinate and plan support measures for students' learning and physical and mental development, while timely reviewing and adjusting various measures, demonstrating a strong spirit of self-assessment." "The School implements various support measures , arranging subject-based after-school tutorials for senior students to prepare for HKDSE, and providing homework tutoring classes and summer orientation classes for junior students to help them quickly adapt to secondary school life.”.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Students can choose 2 to 3 electives from a pool of 11 subjects in accordance with their ability and interest.
2. Curriculum highlights: School-based curriculum designed by teachers is set for junior form STEAM Education to keep abreast with the education reform as well as respond to students' learning needs. In respect of the need for developing a healthy lifestyle, the School implements "MVPA60"; in conjunction with health education programs and mindfulness activities to promote holistic development of students.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : 1. For Reading, DEAR, Drop Everything And Read, is the school’s morning reading philosophy. Extensive reading and School-based e-learning are major projects launched by the two Language subjects. Library Sharing Corner, Book Recommendation, and Reading Week are example activities. Students also won in successive years the Harvard Book Merit Prize held by Hong Kong University Alumni Association.
2.The school utilizes various resources to implement national security education, receiving invitations from the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers to share good practices promoting civic education. The school also places emphasis on STEAM education, with the Education Bureau and the Wanchai Principals' Association co-organizing a "School STEAM Coordinators Workshop," where our STEAM coordinator was invited to share experiences in promoting STEAM teaching.
3. Each year, interesting thematic cross-curricular learning projects are implemented, including "Magical Gems," "AIG: Animation and Games," and "Ancient Chinese Leisure Activities," encouraging students to integrate their learning and apply what they have learned, which has been widely reported by local media.
4. Junior students engage in cross-subject thematic studies, allowing them to master various skills through collaboration, practice, and reporting, achieving comprehensive learning training. The teachers were awarded the Guiding Teacher Award by the Consumer Council. Teachers were invited to share publicly, including presentations on "Collecting Old Items from the 00s" by the Culture and Leisure Department, and "Gathering Hong Kong" on RTHK TV 31, showcasing collections of old items to understand the history of Hong Kong.
5. Students are selected to participate in various gifted programs organized by local universities. The School also encourages self-directed learning; in 2024, students achieved 4 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal in the junior secondary online self-learning program for science.
(5) Life Planning Education : Life-planning is done on a 6-year basis. Self-management workshop held for S.1 to nurture ideal learning habits and value; S.2 and S.3 commence the "I can Make It" programme to help students with goal-setting; APL Briefing for S.4 and Road to University class teacher period plus Aptitude Test Workshop to boost students' understanding of job interview skills for responsible life planning. For S.5, activities were organized to assist students in their personal and career development, including the "Pathways to University" and the "Career Aptitude Testing Workshop. "For S.6, group counselling to help students sharpen their outlook for their future. To facilitate a better understanding of their path of life, students are put in various workplace experiential activities hosted by different commercial and social welfare organisations.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : Streaming and split-class teaching are in tandem with graded materials and after-school learning activities to cater for learners' diversity while exemplifying the value of peer learning and inclusive mindset. Individual learning needs are well catered for through the ethos of mutual respect and acceptance.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : The School prioritizes inclusivity through a comprehensive approach to support students with Special Educational Needs (SENs). Specialized teachers and Teaching Assistants are employed to facilitate cooperative learning, offering both group and individual guidance. The School gets the Grant for Supporting Non-Chinese Speaking Students with Special Educational Need, leverages resources like the Learning Support Grant and community support to enhance learning through a variety of programs such as the Multiple Intelligence Happy Learning Project, Social Skills/Emotion Management Groups, and Occupational Therapy Team. Summer programs and Self-care Camp activities are organized to promote personal growth. Regular professional meetings are held to develop tailored support plans for SENs, covering aspects like learning, homework, and assessments. Parental involvement is encouraged through effective communication channels, with two annual meetings, Parents Talks, and workshops aimed at equipping parents with strategies to support their child's learning and fostering better parent-child interactions.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school. The School provides various courses to address the needs of NCSs. Students owned Harmony Scholarships Scheme organized by Home Affairs Department in 2024-2025.Non-Chinese-speaking students have performed well in the International Chinese Language Examination (IGCSE).
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : Annual result is the summative report of uniform tests, examination and various coursework. Continuous assessment of and for learning is the focus of school. Both pre- and whilst-test/examination revision classes are run for S.1 students new to the school.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : 1. Parent representatives are official members of Purchase and Procurement Committee and work for the sole interest of students through harmonious co-operation with the school. Parents received the "Hong Kong Outstanding Parent Volunteer" award from the Hong Kong Island District Parent-Teacher Association in 2025.
2. Parent-Teacher Association is enthusiastic in organizing various activities. Projects include Parent’s Appreciation of Teachers Day, Evening Music Concert and various theme-based talks. Parents also actively participate in the "10,000 Steps Walking Challenge 2024" organized by the Department of Health, with teachers, students, and parents receiving commendations.
(2) School Ethos : 1. Student performance has been recognized "Our students are attentive in class, courteous to others, and enthusiastic about service."
2. Commendable behaviours are credited through programmes like Saurus Award and Discipline/Cleanliness Competitions. There are around 85% students awarded a dazzling 2480 commendation stamps. The rate of students attendance and on time are 94.4% & 98.4% separately.
3. Students have been selected as "Outstanding Youth in Wanchai District" and "Outstanding Students in Hong Kong" for several consecutive years.
4. Students were chosen to participate in the "Hong Kong Youth Military Summer Camp" and also took part in the Education Bureau's "Harmonious Campus Program," with 9 students receiving the Alliance Commendation Award as "Harmony Ambassadors."
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : To pass on the “Fung Ling spirit” and optimize the curriculum in alignment with the school motto of “Enlighten with Wisdom, Manifest with Compassion” and with Chinese culture as the main focus, in hopes of helping students put due emphasis on health, good behaviour and studies and show love and concern for the school and country.

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Teachers' skills of counseling, teaching, IT and AI are enhanced and updated to keep abreast with new situations through various professional development activities.
1. A handful of teachers being invited to share good practices in various subjects such as STEAM "seed" projects, junior secondary Chinese History support scheme for pilot schools, plus Ethics and Religious Studies school-based teaching material development.
2. Our PE panel received the Outstanding Coach Award held by Hong Kong Coaching Committee.
3. To strengthen exchanges between teachers and students between HKSAR and Mainland China, the School is also actively joining the HK-Guangdong Sisters Project, as well as becoming the first secondary school in Hong Kong to be invited to join the "Creative Education Alliance Community" of the Greater Bay Area.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : 1. Encouragement of service learning: Students are encouraged to give service. Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, Red Cross, Community Youth Committee, Junior Police Call, Volunteer Teams, Road Safety Patrol and Fung Ling Youth Committee are organizations with this end for establishment.
2.The School received the "Hong Kong Volunteer Award" for being a Caring School, Parents were awarded in the "Hong Kong Outstanding Parent-Teacher Volunteer Election." Students were recognized by the Social Welfare Department's Volunteer Service Coordination Committee, receiving 3 Outstanding Volunteer Awards and 39 Excellent Volunteer Awards.
3.The school’s flag-raising team won 1st runner-up in the Hong Kong Police Force 2023 Police Cadet Corps Chinese Flag-Raising Competition for the Hong Kong Island division and has been invited by the Home Affairs Department to participate in large ceremonies as flag-raisers and flag bearers for years.
4. The School CYC repeatedly won Gold prizes in the Theme Event (Wanchai) held by CYC commissioned by EDB. Our students repeatedly won the Best Team Award and Gold Award in Wanchai Themed-activities, as well as chosen as representative of Wanchai District to do overseas sharing.
5. The student awarded Gold Award in the Junior Category of Oisca International Hong Kong. Got champion, first runner-up, second runner-up in "Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance" color competition, champion and first runner-up in Wanchai District WhatsApp Sticker Design Competition.Students participated in the Education Bureau's "Promoting Positive Values and Attitudes through English Sayings of Wisdom" and received the Outstanding Award.
Others : 1. Mass Media Sharing: Both teachers and students were eager to attend public seminars and activities as well as share teaching/learning experience : School Sharing by DBC, Schoolpedia by Commercial Radio, Caring For Disabled and Add Oil Channel by RTHK, STEM Seeding Project sharing, AR/VR Reading Promotion Pilot Experience sharing, School Support Experience Sharing by Chinese History and Mathematics.
2. Study Tour Beyond the Border: a total of more than 30 study tours were run in the past ten years, destinations include Australia, SIngapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hanzhou, Wuhan, Fujian, Beijing, Shenyang, etc. Local tours to scenic spots like Tai O, Ap Chau, Crooked Island, Tung Ping Chau, Hong Kong Palace Museum etc. were held frequently.
3. STEAM Education: Best Control Award for the VEX IQ Robotics Hong Kong Qualifying Competition, organized by As One Youth Foundation. Our school represent Hong Kong to participate in the competition in Shanghai and won the second prize in the "Create Us International Youth Robotics Open Championship," which was organized by the Shanghai Youth Activity Center and Youth Newspaper.
4. Exploration of Mathematics and Science: Won the Individual Honor Award at the 41st Hong Kong Mathematics Competition organized by the Education Bureau and placed fourth in the 38th Hong Kong Buddhist Secondary School Mathematics Competition.
5. Media Innovation: 1st runner-up of Creative Micro-film for Basic Law Contest run by Wan Chai District Council.
6. Music and Artistic Talent: Musical Instrument for All Programme is launched in junior forms. The School's Chinese Orchestra reaped Gold Award in Hong Kong Joint School Music Association 2024, as well as the champion in The 5th Hong Kong 18 District Music Competition. The student also won an Excellence Award at the 2024 New Year Children's Painting Competition organized by the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Institute.
7. Sports: The school teams successively achieved third place in the Boy's Grade B basketball (Division Three), runner-up in the women's Grade A volleyball (Division Three), and runner-up in the Boy's Grade B football (Division Three) at the 2024 Hong Kong Island Inter-School Competition. Additionally, the football team won the overall fourth place in the inter-school Boy's football competition.
8. Outstanding Students: Students repeatedly got Outstanding Youth Award in Wanchai Outstanding Youth Election hosted by Wanchai Youth Committee. Greater Bay Area Excellent Student organized by HKSMS. Awarded "Me Fly Award" in "See me fly" Award Scheme organized by CHSC, Brilliant Citizen organized by Wofoo Youth Network, Students won prize in Wong Kuan Yang Youth Enrichment Incentive Program and "Excellence Today, Achievement Tomorrow" Youth Leadership Incentive Program. Students also made to the U.S. Exchange Programme titled ‘Yes I Can!’ and got the scholarship.Towards Success in Leadership Workshop, Senior Training Workshop, Leadership Training Program like Day Camp and Training Camp are there to help polish leadership skills of Senior Secondary Students. Many students successfully enrolled with overseas study tours like “Mainland China Exchange Program of Prefects”.
9. Scholarships: The students have consistently received numerous external scholarships, including the Upstream Scholarship and School Startup Program. The school also establishes over thirty scholarships to commend students for their achievements in various aspects. Students were awarded The Hong Kong Buddhist Association United Italian Scholarship" sponsored by United Italian Corp. (HK) Ltd, WeCan Scholarship Scheme hosted by The Wharf (Holding) Limited, Ven Siu Kun Scholarship hosted by Ven Siu Kun and The Glorisun Scholarship hosted by Glorious Sun Group.
