Our mission is to enable students to achieve a balanced moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic development, following 3 principles: equal emphasis laid on learning Chinese and English, equal importance attached to arts and sciences as well as equal significance given to further education and career pursuits.

| School Facilities | : | There are 3 lifts, 5 computer rooms, InnoTech Education Centre, a broadcasting studio, a gymnasium, School History Room, over 30,000 books and the Digital Reading Corner in the library. The air-conditioned school premises have a full coverage of WiFi. Each classroom is equipped with a computer, an LCD projector and a visualizer. A computerized roll call taking system and a school-parent instant messaging system have been utilized. We have a green school campus with a fish pond and a greenhouse constructed. The school sponsoring body allocated funds of HK$70 million to construct a six-storey school building which provides additional space of 20,000 sq. ft. and related facilities. |

Secondary One Admission, Orientation Activities & Healthy School Life | Secondary One Admission | : | Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2025 ).The admission criteria and weightings for Secondary One Discretionary Places are as follows: interview performance (30%); school results in Chinese, English and Mathematics (20%); conduct grade (20%); rank order provided by the Education Bureau (EDB) (20%); talents and awards in academic studies, arts and sports, as well as performance in extra-curricular activities and services (10%). |
| Orientation Activities and Healthy Life | : | S.1 Bridging Programme of the school is organized in August every year. The programme covers academic subjects, study methods, self-management, English musical, musical instrument and dance workshops, and S.1 orientation activities, etc., aiming at enabling our S.1 students to be well-prepared for the school life before the start of the school year. Besides, tutorial classes are held by our Alumni Association during the summer holidays for S.1 students in need. To maintain students' physical fitness, the school is equipped with a gymnasium. Chinese Martial Arts, oriental and western dances as well as fitness training are integrated into the Physical Education curriculum. In addition, the school delivers the message of healthy lifestyle through academic curriculum and Life Education lessons. | (1) Whole-school Language Policy | : | In our school, all subjects are taught in English except Chinese Language, Chinese History, Chinese Literature, Putonghua, Putonghua Drama and Citizenship and Social Development which are taught in Putonghua or Cantonese. An authentic language learning environment is created to enhance students' biliterate and trilingual ability. |
| (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | According to the EDB External School Review Report, our school has shown good performance in the domain of Learning & Teaching. The school provides a balanced and diversified curriculum to students. Moreover, all subjects in our school are taught by teachers with subject expertise. Student-centred interactive teaching methodologies are adopted with a wide application of information technology. These enhance the learning and teaching effectiveness. Along with this, our school promotes cross-curricular reading and STREAM education, launches project learning and combines classroom learning with extra-curricular activities and community services for all students, so as to nurture students' multiple intelligences and strengthens their generic skills. |
| (3) School-based Curriculum | : | 1. Electives: 3X and 4X. Our S.4-S.6 Curriculum offers 12 elective subjects and Mathematics Extended Parts with over 400 subject combinations. 2. Curriculum highlights: A diversified curriculum is formulated according to the interest, ability and needs of our students. In addition to the incorporation of the element of English Literature into junior form English Language, English drama and Putonghua drama are also introduced. For the senior form curriculum, diversified Arts, Science, Commerce and Information Technology subjects as well as Applied Learning are offered. There are also the inclusion of Chinese Martial Arts, oriental and western dance training in the curriculum of Physical Education, the conduction of Moral Education and Current Affairs Discussion as well as the integration of moral education, civic and national education, environmental education, health education, life planning and extra-curricular activities into the formal curriculum. |
| (4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum | : | 1. Reading across the Curriculum: Our school has implemented the Reading Scheme with a whole-school approach, which includes morning reading sessions, reading lessons, digital reading, cross-curricular reading and Reading Award Scheme. We have also set up the Reading Club. The element of reading is integrated into the studies of various academic subjects. 2. Information Technology for Self-directed Learning: Apart from the well-equipped information technology (IT) facilities, the school has set up an online learning platform to promote self-directed learning. IT is also widely used in teaching and learning to make lessons more interactive, interesting and effective. 3. Project Learning: To facilitate the integration and application of knowledge and skills across disciplines as well as inspire students' generic skills, cross curricular and STREAM education-related project learning is implemented in junior forms (S.1-S.3) while in senior forms (S.4-S.6), project work is conducted according to the curriculum development of individual subjects. 4. Values Education: The school places a strong emphasis on nurturing noble character and positive value-judgment. The measures taken include launching the Positive Youth Development Programme, Sexual-Abuse-Preventive Programme as well as moral education and guidance programmes. All students join charitable activities and participate actively in community services. |
| (5) Life Planning Education | : | Our school formulates and implements career and life planning strategies through cross-group collaboration. In addition to the implementation of 'My Life Planning Portfolio──My E-Lesson' and 'Career Mapping' programmes in junior and senior forms respectively, various life planning activities are organized, e.g. talks on the selection of F.4 subjects, career interest tests, professionals sharing on work experiences, talks on further study and career pursuits. Moreover, we provide F.6 students with the updated information on university study by organizing JUPAS talks for both parents and students, inviting representatives of tertiary institutes to introduce the programmes offered and admission requirements, conducting mock university admission interviews and activities related to HKDSE Examination result release, providing individual guidance and consultation on the selection of university programmes, arranging visits to local, mainland and overseas universities as well as internship expedition. |

| (1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity | : | Our school possesses an outstanding teaching team. There are 3 native English teachers, 12 Putonghua teachers, 7 additional teachers, 15 professional instructors and alumni tutors to cater for diversified learning needs. Besides, small-class teaching is implemented for English Language lessons (individual forms), English Drama lessons, Putonghua Drama lessons, Enhancement Classes, Remedial Classes and Weekend Tutorial Classes. Academic support programmes like the S.1 Bridging Programme, Academic Support Class and subject tutorials are held after school, during free lessons and holidays. Our counselling teachers, social workers and educational psychologist offer care to cater for students' personal growth. |
| (2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education | : | Our school has set up the Integrated Education Committee and adopts a whole-school approach to support students with special educational needs (SEN). Resources have been flexibly deployed to provide appropriate and cross-sector support to cater for students' learning, behavioural, emotional and social needs, and to ensure that SEN students have an equal opportunity to develop their talents. Our school has established a regular home-school communication mechanism and support measures are devised in consultation with parents so as to enhance the effectiveness. There is also a close collaboration between the school and professionals, e.g. educational psychologists, speech therapists and social workers for providing appropriate professional support to the SEN students. |
| (3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students | : | Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: Our school uses Putonghua to teach Chinese in all classes / groups at all levels with extra support as appropriate, e.g. pull-out/small-group classes, learning resources with Pinyin, etc.. Our school strives to establish a harmonious school culture, so that students with different nationalities and cultural backgrounds can adapt to campus life. |
| (4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment | : | Apart from summative assessments taking the form of examinations, our school adopts formative assessments for evaluating students' conduct, performance in daily assignments, project learning reports, classroom participation and extra-curricular activities. Reports on students' conduct and learning performance are released to parents on a regular basis. Students with outstanding academic performance are awarded with scholarships, arranged to attend Enhancement Classes as well as nominated to join external gifted education courses and activities. Individual guidance and elite training are also provided by teachers. Lower academic achievers are arranged to join the Remedial Classes. There are also Weekend Tutorial Classes which provide academic support to students at all ability ranges. |

| (1) Home-School Co-operation | : | In a bid to strengthen the connection with our parents, the school has set up the Parent-Teacher Association to collect parents' opinions and provide support for parents. In addition, through holding different kinds of activities, such as talks, workshops, reading classes, sharing sessions, voluntary services, interest classes, picnics and parent-child activities, the school has built up a close collaboration with parents. |

The EDB External School Review Report has commended our school for the good performance in the domain of School Ethos & Support to Students. The Values Education and Guidance Board is responsible for launching whole-school moral education and guidance programmes including Form Morning Assemblies, Moral Education and Current Affairs Discussion Sessions, Class-teachers and Assistant Class-teachers policy, Parents' Day, further education and career pursuit seminars, etc. |

| Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) | : | Our students show outstanding performance in Other Learning Experiences activities and obtain over 400 prizes every year. Championships have been won in various world-wide, Asian and territory-wide competitions. Extra-curricular activities are integrated into the formal curriculum. There are over 60 clubs, uniforms groups, service teams and student organizations which provide diversified activities in academic areas, arts, sports, services, leadership training and interest development, etc. There are also school campus TV broadcasting, moral education, environmental protection, health education, civic and national education, career and life planning activities, community services, etc. Every student is provided with opportunities to join study and exchange tours to the Mainland and overseas countries. In addition, Swimming Gala, Athletics Meet, Student Activity Days and School Picnic are organized every year. |
| Others | : | Over the years, our students have shown outstanding performance in their moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic developments. Our school was awarded the Outstanding School Award──Students' Attainment by the EDB. Other major awards attained include Caring School Award, Active School Campus Award, Championships of the Hong Kong Green School Award, Greening School Project Award, etc. In addition, External School Reviews were conducted in our school by the EDB in 2003 and 2010 respectively. Our school was highly commended in the domains of Management & Organization, Learning & Teaching, School Ethos & Student Support as well as Student Performance. We were praised for striving to achieve continuous progress and self-optimization, and attaining fruitful results in fostering students' whole-person development. (For details, please browse our school website http://kccshatin.edu.hk) In the HKDSE Examination 2024, our students attained outstanding results and the overall results were far better than the Hong Kong averages: - 90% of our F.6 students attained '332A' or better in the 4 core subjects (English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, Citizenship and Social Development) while the Hong Kong average was 39%; - Students attaining Level 4+ and Level 5+ reached 62% and 23% respectively while the Hong Kong averages were 36% and 14%; - A total of 8 students attained 32 marks or higher in their best 6 subjects; - The highest scorer attained 32 marks in the best 5 subjects and ranked among the top 1.2% of all HKDSE candidates. On the whole, 89% of our F.6 graduates were offered bachelor's degree programmes of universities. Among those pursuing bachelor's degree programmes through the Joint University Programmes Admission System (JUPAS), 41% were admitted to The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In regard to Other Learning Experiences, the number of prizes and scholarships attained in open competitions and territory-wide student award schemes reached a record high of 854 including 220 individual, team and overall championships, and other major awards in 2023-24, winning glory for the school and Hong Kong. |
