Secondary One Admission, Orientation Activities & Healthy School Life | Secondary One Admission | : | Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2025 ).Promoting our students' balanced development is the vision of our school. Applicants having balanced and outstanding performance in the five aspects of development, i.e. moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic, will get high priority. Criteria for admission: Academic results (academic results at school and Discretionary Places Rank Order List): 40%, Interview performance: 40%, Performance in Extra-curricular activities: 10%, Conduct and manners: 5%, English proficiency: 5%. |
| Orientation Activities and Healthy Life | : | We organise a series of programmes to prepare students for their secondary school life. Programmes include S1 Orientation Day, English Fun Day, S1 Parents' Day, EMI Subjects Bridging Course, sports training courses, Chinese musical instrument training programs, etc. Living a healthy school life has always been an important self-discipline goal in LKKC. The health policy in LKKC includes 3 major areas, namely, education, prevention and monitoring. Talks and workshops in school assemblies and life education periods are regularly organized to educate students about the importance of health and hygiene. In addition, Healthy School Program is launched to help students reach a state of physical, mental and social well-being with a focus on developing students' healthy lifestyles, positive attitudes and values, practical life skills and refusal skills to resist temptation. |

| (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | Our school offers a progressive learning environment to assist students in enhancing their life-wide learning and collaborative learning. Eventually, our students become self-directed and life-long learners. We offer general grammar-school curriculum for junior students. In the senior level, we provide 10 elective subjects besides 4 core subjects. Our school also provides a variety of reading programmes, reading award schemes and Whole-school Reading Time to promote English and Chinese reading habit. |
| (3) School-based Curriculum | : | 1. Electives: 2X, 3X and 4X. Students may have their own choices according to their abilities and interests. 2. Curriculum highlights: In the Senior Secondary Curriculum, we offer students a wide range of school-based OLE opportunities encouraging them to participate in five areas, namely Values Education, Community Service, Career-related Experiences, Aesthetic Development and Physical Development. With the support of EDB's "Diversity Learning Grant", we can offer HKDSE Music, PE and "Other Languages Course" (Japanese and Korean) to our students as elective subjects. The language course follows the curriculum leading to the stipulated language examinations administered in Hong Kong by the official cultural organizations which are the official providers of the language examinations concerned. Also, we arrange some students to take Applied Learning courses which provide a linkage with different professional and vocational fields. |
| (4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum | : | To enhance students' bilingual ability and learning effectiveness, we promote Reading to Learn through a variety of strategies. These also help students to establish their personal reading profiles to promote a good reading habit. Campus TV offers different TV programmes to promote reading atmosphere and students' bilingual ability. We also promote our reading atmosphere through a series of activities like book fairs, writers' talks, students' reading sharing sessions, teachers' book recommendations, book crossing, reading clubs, etc. In terms of school curriculum planning, we launch Reading Across the Curriculum (RaC) in various subjects to enhance students' Chinese and English reading ability. IT-based teaching and learning packages as well as Project Learning are deliberately articulated with teaching and learning across the eight Key Learning Areas, with a common objective of gearing up students' generic skills. In 2024-2025 school year, we implement "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) policy from S1 to S5 to allow students to bring their own mobile device to schools for learning activities. As a result, learning becomes more personalized and mobile. In addition to being embedded in formal curriculum, values education is delivered via Life Education programmes and School Assemblies. |
| (5) Life Planning Education | : | We encourage students to actively target and shape their personal development and life objectives, explore the working world more widely, and eventually construct clearer studies and life plans out of their own interest and aspirations. To strengthen life planning education and career guidance in the junior level, we revitalize the Junior Form Life Education Programmes, deliver parent talks, provide counselling and psychological services, and foster teacher development. With this school-based support system, teachers are placed in a more professionally-sound position to aspire and assist in students’ growth. We also proactively and strategically plan for senior form students an integrated in-house “Life-wide Guidance Package in Career & Life Planning”. The package is an assortment of career guidance events developed by Careers Counselling Committee, including life planning programs and experiences, self-directed assessments, and workplace visits/internships. They all aim at enhancing students' self-understanding and evaluation, and elevating their positive attitude in career planning. Students are well-informed and equipped when they head towards actualizing their life plan goals. |

| (1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity | : | Our school implements a number of support measures for academically gifted students and students with learning difficulties, in line with our whole-school initiative to cater for learner diversity. |
| (2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education | : | Our school is dedicated to establishing an inclusive culture which supports students with special education needs with a whole school approach and offers appropriate and diversified support services to enhance their learning efficacy and assist them in being integrated into their school life. The Student Support Team (SST) consists of the SEN coordinator, an educational psychologist, a speech therapist and teachers. The whole school approach is implemented through the form-based meetings in our school, where subject panel heads, class teachers and subject teachers of the SEN students collectively devise appropriate support measures for the students with the attendance of parents and the educational psychologist for the support work where necessary. Taking into consideration of the needs of the SEN students and views of various stakeholders, our school offers appropriate support for the SEN students and refer them to educational psychologists for follow-up measures, e.g. formulating an individual education plan for specific students. We offer appropriate support to our SEN students by external services and experts with Learning Support Grant. Adjustments are made for SEN students both in internal assessments and assisting in their application for public examinations. With an emphasis on cooperation between the school and parents, our school has set up a regular communication platform through interviews, meetings, etc. to negotiate and review related support measures. With a view to elevating the professionalism of our teaching staff with regard to caring for SEN students, the school arranges teachers to take training courses provided by the EDB and encourages them to attend seminars and sharing sessions to strengthen their professional competence. |
| (3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students | : | Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: Where necessary, we will implement the Chinese Language Curriculum Second Language Concerned Learning Framework (Learning Framework) to help NCS students overcome the difficulties in learning Chinese as a second language with a view to enabling them to bridge over to mainstream Chinese Language classes. |

| Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos | ||
| (1) Home-School Co-operation | : | The healthy development of students depends not only on professionalism in offering care and nurture, but also on parent-school collaboration. Hence, our school places substantial emphasis on our communication and collaboration with parents. Apart from the Parent-Teacher Association, our school also makes use of other platforms for direct communication, namely various Parents' Days (S1 Orientation Day, form-based Parents' Days, etc.) and Parents' Nights (S4 Promotion and Streaming Forum, S6 Parents' Night, etc.) as well as parent-school gatherings. Besides, our school strives to establish regular connection with parents through the School Bulletin, letters to the parents, the school website, the mobile app as well as the school-based questionnaire for parents. |
| (2) School Ethos | : | Our students are top-notch, diligent and responsible, all conducive to a good learning atmosphere. Our school's social worker service is provided by the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society. The Guidance Committee is made up of seasoned teachers. Pastoral care includes the 'Guidance Prefects Scheme' for S1 to S3 students, S2 Training Camp, life education, morning assemblies with teachers' sharing, talks/seminars, the speech under the national flag, etc. Also, a class tutor is arranged for every class to assist the class teacher, strengthen class-building and foster a caring atmosphere. All these measures help to enhance students' self-discipline and moral standards, serving to strengthen the caring atmosphere among students and their sense of belonging to the school. These years, we have introduced positive education. It aims at nurturing and utilizing students' character strengths and potentials and facilitating personal development on positive elements so that they are able to better encounter their stress and challenges in their daily life, and ultimately to have a flourishing life. |

By actively participating in extra-curricular activities, students are able to develop their potential to the full. Every student joins one of our four Houses. School life teems with over 30 clubs and societies. We also hold school-based activities to liven up campus life and boost the self-confidence of our students. These include fun-filled Inter-class Performing Arts Competitions, Whole School Activities Day, Sports Days, etc. |

In HKDSE 2024, one student attained 5** in five subjects and four students in four subjects; Percentage of students who attained "3322" in 4 core subjects: 93.9%, Level 2+ in 5 subjects:100%, Level 3+ in Chinese Language: 93.9%, Level 3+ in English Language: 99.0%, Level 2+ in Mathematics: 100% and Attained in Citizenship and Social Development: 100%. Each student obtained 4.6 subjects in Level 4+ on average. 2. Out of 99 S6 graduates in 2024, 90 (90.9%) of them received an offer from Bachelor's Degree programmes in JUPAS. 3. Our school adopts a policy of balanced education and encourages students to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities to improve their physical fitness, cultivate a healthy self-image and train their team spirit. With all these efforts, our students are able to achieve outstanding results in numerous inter-school competitions in Tuen Mun district and the territory. |
