Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : 1. We organize S.1 Bridging Programme, S.1 Adventure Camp, Summer remedial classes in Chinese, English, and Mathematics, as well as orientation days for new S.1 students. These initiatives help students understand and adapt to the new learning environment. They also allow parents and students to recognize the challenges encountered when entering secondary school and devise preventive strategies. 2. Through the "Heart-to-Heart Mentorship Program," regular small group meetings are conducted using a mentorship approach to assist freshmen in facing various new challenges. We organize a "Form 1 Hundred Days Banquet" to document the initial one hundred days of growth of Form 1 students at school, enabling parents to gain a deeper understanding of their child's school experience.
3. The Tai Chi curriculum, spanning from Secondary 1 to 6, is structured across various stages to cater to students' progression.

School Management
(1)School's Major Concerns : 1. Cultivating students’ good morals with Resolution, Responsibility, Respect and Resilience;
2. Strengthening students’ learning motives and enhancing teaching and learning effectiveness through e-learning and reading;
3. Strengthening STEM development, optimizing the curriculum and activities and enhancing students’ creativity.
(2) School Management Organisation : Our school employs 'School-Based Management' with a 'Student-Centered Approach,' fostering diverse academic curriculum, IT integration, extracurriculars, guidance programs, and school-parent relations.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : The Incorporated Management Committee has been set up.
(4) School Green Policy : Our school has implemented environmental protection activities including promoting the 'Solar-Powered Waterfall Scheme', participating in 'No Air Conditioner Night', and instituting the 'Waste Separation and Recycling Scheme in Schools'.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : 1. Implement the fine-tuning policy of medium of instruction. Teachers use English as the medium of instruction to teach Mathematics based on students' abilities. In the junior classes where NCS students are admitted, they learn Mathematics, Life and Society, Science, Science (S.3 Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Geography, History, Computer Literacy, Religious and Ethics Studies, Visual Arts, Music, Design and Technology, Home Economics, Physical Education, Life Education and School-based STEAM Education through English. 2. Four Native English teachers teach English in junior and senior forms. 3. Having attracted a group of excellent NCS students to join in recent years, our local students can speak English more often with their NCS classmates in class and in daily context, which benefits their learning in English greatly.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : 1. Promoting Self-directed Learning: To develop E-learning and Cooperative Learning to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching. 2. School-based STEM Education: To teach students programming knowledge and skills, and how to design and manufacture intelligent products. 3. To foster a reading culture: Morning reading periods, Reading Club and Bookcrossing Cart; holding Book Sharing Sessions, "Meet-the-Authors" talks, Read & Eat, Reading Walk; Electronic Reading Programmes and "Reading across the curriculum" schemes are launched in our school. 4. School-based Cultural Subjects Collaboration Scheme: Students are allowed to select one among the three cultural subjects - Visual Arts, Music, and Design and Technology - to further cultivate their personal interest. 5. Many visits and study tours are organized every year to enrich our students' life experience and broaden their horizons, like tours to the United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Beijing etc. 6. Elite and Remedial Classes are provided for junior form students, tutorials for senior form students after school and during long holidays. 7. We participated in the School-based Support Service in Chinese Language, Mathematics and STEM Education. We have hired more Student Guidance Teachers (SGT) to cater for students with special educational needs (SEN). 8. Our school actively collaborates with different professional organizations in order to provide students with high-quality education. 9. There is Wi-Fi coverage in the whole school. We implemented e-learning in different subjects in several stages.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Chinese History, Chinese Literature, History, Geography, Economics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Visual Arts, Tourism and Hospitality Studies, BAFS, Information and Communication Technology, Mathematics Extended Part Module 2, Applied Learning
2. Curriculum highlights: In junior forms, the curricula of Chinese, English, Mathematics and Integrated Science are tailored; School-based STEAM Education, the Project-based Learning Curriculum, and the school-based Cultural Subjects Collaboration are implemented; Chinese Language Curriculum for NCS students: Our school allocates students to different classes according to their abilities and designs school-based Chinese teaching materials at different levels so that the needs of NCS students can be met; Special resources are earmarked for the senior secondary curriculum, with an elective subject teacher-student ratio of 1 teacher to every 10 students.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : 1. Read to Learn: Implement whole-school activity and share books with students through morning assemblies, book fairs and short videos. Organize exhibitions regularly to introduce feature writers and books and invite authors to conduct sharing at school. Reading periods arranged for Chinese and English, peer reading, self-directed reading, reading scheme etc. 2. Moral and civic education lessons are implemented to inculcate proper attitudes and values in students. 3. All classrooms, special rooms, and activity areas throughout the school are equipped with Wi-Fi and Apple TV. Smart blackboards are installed in all classrooms on the second floor to fully promote e-learning.
(5) Life Planning Education : 1. Subsidy was obtained from "Project We Can" to implement various initiatives. This facilitated exceptional opportunities for business-academic cooperation, allowing students to gain exposure to professional work environments. 2. The 'Let Me Shine' Scholarship Scheme was implemented, guiding and supporting students in establishing goals and providing affirmative empowerment. 3. In collaboration with the Customs and Excise Department, Fire Services Department, and Youth Warning Centre, career exploration sessions and site visits were coordinated for students. Additionally, experiential learning opportunities in various vocations were organized to impart essential professional values through practical engagement. 4. Mock examination results were announced and diverse interview workshops were conducted to prepare students for further academic pursuits and career opportunities. 5. Facilitate excursions to the Overseas Study Expo and invite guest speakers from international universities to present their academic programs, thus informing students of various pathways for continued education abroad. 6.We coordinated educational tours to highly-ranked overseas universities.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : 1. 'Star of YY3' programs are implemented in various forms to help students achieve better academic results, with university entrance as the ultimate objective.
2. Implement a peer tutoring initiative in which senior form students provide individualized support in reading, recitation, transcription, dictation, and homework assistance to junior form students during morning Chinese lessons. This is aimed at alleviating apprehension towards Chinese language acquisition and fostering engagement with learning the language. Execute the "Read and Write: A Jockey Club Learning Support Network" program to create a Chinese reading and writing curriculum that aligns with school Chinese language standards. The purpose is to aid Grade 7-8 students who have demonstrated challenges with reading, writing, and learning disabilities in Chinese language skills.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : 1. The Special Education Needs Support Team members include Ms. Lun Yuen Ying (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and Ms. Fan Xing Yan and Ms. Hung Wai Chung Ankie (Special Education Needs Support Teachers). 2. Our school receives additional subsidies from the Education Bureau, including the "Learning Support Grant" and the "Grant for Non-Chinese Speaking Students with Special Educational Needs", to assist in addressing the diverse learning needs of students with special educational needs. The team's work involves providing appropriate and professional assessments, support, and training for students with special educational needs (including non-Chinese speaking students), such as social groups, speech therapy, occupational therapy, individualized education plan meetings, interdisciplinary meetings, and other support programs. Collaborating with educational psychologists and experts to conduct workshops for parents and staff to enhance strategies and skills in caring for students with special educational needs. Through organizing various interest classes and career-oriented courses, students are assisted in acquiring relevant knowledge and skills, exploring personal interests and potential, as well as understanding different study and career information and pathways.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school; and hiring additional manpower and/or translation/interpretation services to facilitate the communication with parents.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : 1. In addition to internal examinations, students' performances in class, on assignments, and on quizzes are included as part of continuous assessment.
2. Our school has special arrangements in place for students with Special Education Needs.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : 1. The Parent-Teacher Association of our school has been awarded the ‘Q-mark Certificate of Commendation’ by the Committee on Home-School Cooperation to commend the effectiveness of cooperation between our school and parents.
2. The Parent-Teacher Association provides scholarships to encourage students with excellent academic results and improvement.
3. The Parent-Teacher Association offers different types of parent-children activities, interest classes and talks for parents, and organizes a parents’ volunteer team.
4. The Parent-Teacher Association offers services like flu vaccination, family fun day, summer tutorial classes, and scarf knitting charity events.
5. Parent-Teacher Association organizes the Appreciating teachers’ activities to support teachers and embrace the spirit of Home-School Cooperation.
6. Class teachers care for their students by contacting parents during long vacations.
7. Our school has a ‘Home-School Liaison Officer’ to help contact with parents.
(2) School Ethos : 1. We have promoted and created a caring campus community, and our school has been granted the ‘Caring School Award’ for 14 consecutive years. We were also awarded the Caring School Theme Award in 2016 and 2021. Our school received the Honorable Award and Special Award for Social, Intellectual & Emotional Engagement from the ‘High-Five Student Engagement Award Scheme’.
2. By incorporating moral, civic, and environmental education through morning assemblies, hall assemblies, class teacher periods, civic education curriculum, and religious and ethics education curriculum, we aim to cultivate positive values in students.
3. The ‘Well Done Fun Scheme’ regularly recognizes and awards students for their excellent performance.
4. The Joyful Teens and Community Youth Club & Social Service Team cultivate in students a sense of social responsibility and belonging through voluntary work and charity. We were awarded the Champion of the Best Student and Youth Volunteering Projects and the Outstanding Humanity Campus Award.
5. We organize Community Service Days for students to demonstrate care for the community. This has been recognized by the 'School Social Responsibility Award' and commended by the 'Good People and Good Events Scheme'
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : 1. To enable students to practice endurance, accountability, respect, and tenacity, so that they can become mentally and physically healthy teens.
2. Strengthen students’ ability to utilize e-learning tools, develop their information literacy, and empower them to become active learners.
3. Nurture students to become good citizens who treasure Chinese culture, respect social diversity, and possess a global perspective.
4. Focus on the development of the performing extra-curricular activities, and provide numerous performing platforms for students to practice what they learned.
(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Our school focuses on the continuing professional development of teachers. We provide various training programs for newly-joined teachers, in-service teachers, and teachers aspiring for promotion according to the EDB’s ‘Professional Ladder for Teachers’ in order to foster a team dedicated to learning and progress. The programs include:
1. We have “Teacher Mentorship Programs”, “Peer Lesson Observations”, “Learning Circles”, and “Teaching Effectiveness Questionnaires” to enhance professionalism.
2. In order to broaden teachers’ horizons, we organize Staff Development Days three times a year.
3. To encourage lifelong learning and pursue further education, we have organized Overseas Educational Visits to Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Singapore etc.
4. We have been invited by the Education Bureau for sharing our excellence, as we have a mature professional development system.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : There are about 50 Clubs and Interest Groups categorized into: Academic, Service, Interest and Physical Education. Clubs and Interest Groups with special features include the Rowing Team, Cycling Team, Juggling Club, Magic Club, Band, Dance Team, Taekwondo Club and Rope Skipping Club. Service Groups include the Air Cadet Corps, Hong Kong Army Cadets, Girl Guides, Community Youth Club & Social Service Team, etc. Most activities are led by professional tutors and instructors. Other Learning Experiences (OLE) Periods are included in the curriculum to support the implementation of the New Senior Secondary Curriculum.
Others : 1. The Education Bureau (EDB) undertook the third External School Review (ESR) of our school in 2017. Following the previous ESR report, our school received excellent comments from the EDB. Our school demonstrated outstanding performance in the four main domains - School Sustainable Development, Student Performance, Learning and Teaching, and School Ethos and Student Support. This definitely confirmed the efforts and achievements of our teachers and students.
2. Since the founding of the school, 15 teachers have received excellent and outstanding teacher awards. In 2019, the school received the 15th Anniversary Outstanding School Award from The HKFEW. Many teachers have taken up positions in different education organizations and professional bodies.
3. In recent years, the school attained outstanding Value-added Performances in the HKDSE Examination, and many students received offers in JUPAS.
4. We excelled in the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) Examination for Chinese Language, with the majority of students achieving levels 7-9, averaging over 90%..
5. A number of students have shown excellence in various sports including rowing, basketball, football, dragon boat, cricket, breaking and softball. They have successfully become members of the Hong Kong Team or Hong Kong Youth Team and represented Hong Kong in overseas international competitions.
6. In recent years, our school has focused on developing performing arts extracurricular activities, and provided numerous performance platforms for students to practice what they have learned.
