School Facilities : There are 25 standard classrooms and 28 special rooms including InnoTech Room, D & T Room, Multimedia Learning Room, Computer Room, Music Room, Library, Laboratories, Career and Life Planning Resource Centre, English Corner, Social Worker's Room, Student Activity Room, Gymnasium and Band Room, etc. Each room and the school hall are air-conditioned and equipped with multi-media facilities. Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2025 ).Criteria and weightings for S.1 Discretionary Places: Academic Performance 20%, Conduct 15%, Talents in Arts and Sports 7.5 %, Performance and Participation in Extra-curricular Activities 5% School / Social Services 2.5%; Interview 50%.
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : During the summer vacation, a welcome event for upcoming S.1 students and parents will introduce the S.1 Bridging Program, aiding students in adjusting to secondary school life swiftly. Details will be announced at S.1 registration. “Be Dynamic, Optimistic and Creative Connected to the community, the country and the world” program for S.1 students include sports, arts, and teamwork exercises like dart throwing and painting, promoting positive mindset, confidence, and perseverance. Abseiling training sessions will prepare students for challenges ahead. Student counseling initiative led by senior students will offer diverse activities for S.1 students, fostering school awareness and a sense of belonging. Within the Whole Person Development Committee, different teams provide activities and programs supporting students’ growth with a focus on positive values and character development for a health life style.

School Management

(4) School Green Policy : Our school adopts school-based environmental policy aiming to enhance students’ environmental awareness, develop their environmentally friendly attitude, and promote green practices and environmental education so as to create a green campus. Environmental Ambassador Programme, talks, morning assemblies, extra-curricular activities, field trips and visits are organised to arouse students' awareness of environmental protection. We also adopt various measures to save energy and reduce wastes by the recycling programme.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Our school adopts Chinese as the teaching medium for effective learning and teaching. Strategies such as Language across Curricula, and small-class and group teaching are deployed so as to consolidate students’ English proficiency for further study and enhance student' learning efficacy in English. In addition, a wide array of English learning activities are organised to pique students’ interest in learning English. They include English Morning Assemblies, English Debate, Drama, Puppetry, English Performances, and Quizzes. The Native English Teacher Scheme and after-school English tutorial classes are arranged as well.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Our school strives to inculcate students’ positive learning attitude. Through the implementation of self-regulated learning, collaborate learning, lesson preparation and e-Learning strategies, we aim to enhance students’ participation in their own learning and enhance students' learning efficacy. Multiple assessment methods are adopted to assess students’ learning progress to achieve assessment as learning. To cultivate students’ reading habit, Reading across the curriculum is promoted through the collaboration of subjects in different Key Learning Areas and the implementation of reading award schemes. We also promote STEAM Education, implement various cross-curricular learning activities and organise after-school homework sessions for junior forms, tutorial classes and academic enhancement classes to enhance students’ learning effectiveness.

2. Curriculum highlights: To enhance students' language and mathematical abilities, to broaden their knowledge, to develop their critical thinking, self learning and collaboration skills. To widen students' exposure to values education and other learning experiences which suit their study needs, interests and abilities and to better equip students for further studies as well as meeting the needs of an ever-changing society.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : Reading schemes and numerous cross-curricular reading activities are implemented to promote reading culture. Self-regulated Learning, collaborative learning, e-Learning, and STEAM Education are also promoted to enhance students' participation and learning efficacy and hence the effectiveness of learning and teaching. Various kinds of activities are also held to foster students' correct values and positive attitude towards life.
(5) Life Planning Education : Our school adopts a whole school approach to promote career and life planning (CLP) education. Through various learning activities, we inspire students to recognize their aspirations, abilities, and interests, thereby setting goals and planning their own paths. The school provides students with group and individual counseling, supporting students flexibly with diverse activities. Additionally, a Career Planning Resource Centre is established to allow students to access the latest information on further education and employment, assisting them in effectively planning for the future and making well-informed choices for themselves.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : We implement small class and group teaching, developed school-based curriculum as well as strategies related to collaborative learning and e-learning to cater for learners' diversities. Tutorials in Chinese and English and interest groups are organised for newly arrived children (NAC). The Healthy School Programme is implemented to cultivate positive values and promote healthy life styles among students.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : The SEN Support Team is established for planning, implementing, and evaluating the support offered to SEN students and formulating the policies for integrated education. Members include Assistant Principal, Social Workers, Educational Psychologists, Speech Therapist, Special Educational Needs Coordinator and Support Teachers. Our school makes effective and flexible use of the Learning Support Grant for the timely support to SEN students. We work closely with parents, School Social Workers, Educational Psychologists, Speech Therapist and professional staff from EDB to ensure the provision of appropriate support to our students. The Team is also responsible for making special arrangements for the internal tests and examinations for SEN students, and assisting the students with special needs for the application for HKEAA's special examination arrangements.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : One term test and one examination are conducted per school term. In addition, diversified continuous assessments are carried out for students, which include quizzes, discussions, presentations, practical work, etc.
Small group teaching is adopted in the subjects of Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and Citizenship and Social Development. Also, after-school tutorial classes and supplementary lessons are organised for students to support their learning.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : 1. Better communication and mutual trust between parents and teachers and parents and children can be enhanced through various kinds of activities held by the PTA.
2. Parent representatives for the SMC are elected so as to reflect the parents' views.
3. Parent Education is promoted through talks, workshops and parents' groups.
(2) School Ethos : We lay great emphasis on students' behaviour and conduct. We adopt the "Co-class Teacher System" from S.1 to S.6, which provides better support for individual students. With the concerted efforts of all teams/committees in the Whole Person Development Committee, various student support programmes and activities are organised according to students' needs at different stages of personal growth so as to inculcate students as responsible citizens. Counselling Team is set up to help students and the "One Student One Duty" Scheme has been launched. Also, 2 social workers from the International Social Services Hong Kong Branch station in school to provide professional advice for students.
All S.1 students must participate in uniformed group activities to foster students' self-discipline, adherence to rules, and spirit of service. S.1 students are also required to stay for lunch at school and participate in the school's diverse S.1 adaptation activities. Additionally, a peer counseling program is in place to ensure comprehensive care and support for the growth of S.1 students.
Future Development

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Our school encourages peer lesson observation, cooperative teaching of teachers and open lessons. We provide numerous resources to help teachers to pursue continuous professional development and keep up with the latest developments in the field of education. We organise Staff Development Days and take part in joint-school Teacher Symposium to enhance learning and teaching effectiveness. We provide support for newly-joined teachers through mentorship scheme so that they can better adapt to a new school environment.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : There are 24 clubs in our school, which can be classified into three main types: academic, interest, and service groups. Additionally, there are four Houses named "Intelligence," "Wisdom," "Health," and "Physique" that participate in various track and field, academic, social knowledge, and ball games competitions.

Through these activities, students cultivate good morals and attitudes, develop skills, and inspire creativity, aiming for a balanced development encompassing "Dynamic," "Optimistic," "Creative," and "Connected to the World" to achieve a well-rounded education.
Others : Our school has established a number of awards, “Academic Award Scheme (Subject Award)” and Parent-Teacher Association awards to reward students for achieving excellent results in school examinations. We also have a conduct excellence award to recognize students with good conduct; Students who achieve excellent results in public examinations will be awarded the NTHYK School Management Committee Scholarship. Students of our school have also won numerous external scholarships, such as the Applied Learning Scholarship, the “Hong Kong Fujian Charitable Education Fund”, the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship, and the ISS' Got Talent Scholarship, etc. Our students have won numerous awards in different public or inter-school competitions in recent years, such as the runner-up in the Education Bureau’s National Safety Campus Poster Design Competition, the runner-up in the Tai Po and North District Inter-School Volleyball Competition Men’s U15 Group 2, and the runner-up in Inno Expo@Tai Po 2024. The school won the Merit Award for Scientific and Creative Works in the Secondary School Group; and the school participated in the EDB’s Guangdong-Hong Kong Sister School Choral Speaking Competition (Hong Kong) and won the Silver Medal in the Secondary School Group, the Harmonious Symbiosis - The Most Beautiful Scenery Singing Award, and the Skill and Fluency Merit Award.

Other awards include: Tai Po District Outstanding Youth Award, Tai Po District Top Ten Outstanding Students Award, Education Bureau English Public Speech Competition Excellent Award, Inter-Government Secondary School English Drama Fest Outstanding Actor Award, Outstanding Stage Effect Award, and Outstanding Team Collaboration Award, Hong Kong School Speech Festival various awards, Secondary School Student Chinese Essay Competition - Literary Star, Harvard Book Award, “China Cup” National Mathematical Olympiad Invitational Competition and “Hong Kong and Macau Mathematical Olympiad” Open Competition Second and Third Prize, International Chemistry Test (Royal Australian Chemical Institute) Certificate of Distinction, Tai Po District Good Student Award Scheme, Student Recognition Award for Extracurricular Activities, Watson Group Hong Kong Student Athlete Award, and has repeatedly won various championship, runner-up, and third-place awards in different taekwondo and swimming competitions.

Our school also actively promotes and supports students to participate in different exchange programs, such as: Singapore English Exchange Tour, Nanjing Science and Technology Development Exploration Tour, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Student Exchange Summer Camp, Whampoa Military Academy Training Camp, Tai Po Youth Network Modern Chinese History Study Tour and Vietnam Historical and Cultural Study Tour to broaden students’ horizons.
