| Secondary One Admission | : | Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2025 ).Applicants will be invited to attend an interview in March. | (4) School Green Policy | : | The School is committed to undertaking sound environmental practices throughout the entire School operations and raising all staff and students' awareness of their environmental responsibilities. Green Leaders in each class help promote various environmental protection activities in School. To keep efficient use of electricity, the temperature in classrooms is maintained at around 25 degree Celsius when air-conditioners are used. Recycle campaigns are held regularly to encourage students to reduce waste production in daily activities. The School keeps assessing students' performance in environmental protection and will give away The Green Awards to classes with good practice. The Annual Carbon Audit will be conducted for our School campus to monitor the carbon emission each year and respective measures are imposed to save energy. |

| (2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education | : | The School implements Integrated Education by adopting a Whole-School Approach. The Student Support Team has been set up to support students with special educational needs. The members include the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Special Educational Needs Support Teachers, the Counselling Team teachers, the School Social Workers and the School-based Educational Psychologist. The School encourages teachers to actively participate in different training courses related to Special Educational Needs. To provide learning support, our School arranges appropriate teaching and assessment accommodations for students with special educational needs. Through the flexible use of the Learning Support Grant and the Grant for Supporting NCS Students with SEN, our School organizes various support training sessions and workshops, such as social skill workshops, speech therapy, occupational therapy, twice-exceptional workshops, individual educational plans, etc., to help students cope with the problems they come across in their daily life. In order to strengthen the cooperation between parents and the School, our teachers meet with parents regularly to follow up on the progress of students’ performance and work out plans for the implementation of relevant support measures. In addition, our School organizes various activities for the whole School, such as social service activities to promote an inclusive atmosphere on our School campus. |

| (1) Home-School Co-operation | : | The KCPTA conducts a variety of well-received programmes every year. These include Parent-Child activities, the publication of PTA Newsletters, parent education programmes, etc. These activities not only provide invaluable opportunities for parents and the School to communicate and exchange ideas but also strengthen students' sense of belonging to the School. |
| (2) School Ethos | : | The School, founded in 1926, has rich traditions with strong support from past students and parents. There is a harmonious relationship among teachers and an excellent rapport between teachers and students. The students are generally hardworking and disciplined with a strong sense of belonging to the School. Pastoral care is provided through the Counselling Committee, the Student Support Unit, the School Social Workers, and the dedicated teachers. The School promotes peer learning among students and encourages them to help each other. After-school activities such as tutorial classes, Fig Boys Scheme and enhancement classes conducted by old boys are held. Apart from fostering brotherhood among students, students are given the opportunity to enhance their leadership and communication skills. |

| (2) Teacher Professional Training and Development | : | The School aims at helping teachers to broaden their horizons and to equip themselves with knowledge of the senior secondary curriculum. Apart from the three Staff Development Days, professional development programmes are organized to enhance their knowledge of current teaching methodologies and education reforms. Besides, teachers are encouraged to share their experience in departmental and staff meetings, join teacher networks and attend experience-sharing sessions. Over the past few years, the School has, through joining the School-based Support Scheme offered by the Education Bureau, designed and developed individual subjects' school-based teaching materials to enhance the quality and effectiveness of teaching. |
| Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) | : | The School provides a variety of activities, including academic, cultural, sports, religious activities, and opportunities for social services through 24 clubs and societies. Student Development Days are held for S.1-S.6 students, which allows students to learn through a wide range of activities. These activities together with those organized under other learning experiences, help foster and reinforce students' whole person development. Students are encouraged to actively participate in external competitions of different kinds and overseas exchange programmes to broaden their horizons. S.1-S.3 students are required to join instrumental music classes and undergo related assessments, with the goal of allowing students to develop balanced progress in all aspects. |
| Others | : | Kingsians performed well in both academic and non-academic areas. They had remarkable performance in the 2024 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination. Yip Shiu Yuen obtained seven 5**. Wang Xulang, Ho Yuk Kwan Baron and Tang Chun Lok got excellent results. 91% of students were admitted to local undergraduate programmes through JUPAS. Students display fervent interest in science research. Our representatives won the Gold Award in the 9th International Invention Competition in Canada, as well as the First and Second Place Award in the China Adolescent Science & Technology Innovation Contest respectively. Wan Wai Long and Chu Wai Pak won the Gold Medal in the French International Invention and Innovation Contest, PRIX EIFFEL 2023. Other awards include the First Place Award in the category of Chemistry and Material Science in junior division of the HK Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition, the First Place Award in the category of Chemistry and Material Science in senior division, and the Gold Award in The Greater Bay Area STEM Excellence Award 2024 (Hong Kong). In addition to scientific research, students also performed well in other areas of STEAM. Lok Sze Chai, Chan Cheuk Yu, Lau Pui Hei and Mak Wing Fai got the ATIP Special Award, OCIIP Special Award, TISIAS Special Award and Gold Award in the 4th AII American DAVINCI International Innovation and Invention Expo. Students display their musical and acting talents in competitions. KC Harmonica Band got 3 Champions, 1 First Runner-up and 4 Second Runners-up in the 2024 Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival. In the 76th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, students won 3 Champions, 3 First Runners-up and 7 Second Runners-up. In addition, Chan Pak Hei and Lam Hiu Ming got the Award for Outstanding Performer in the 2023/24 Hong Kong School Drama Festival. The Chinese Drama Team got the Award for Outstanding Script and the Award for Outstanding Stage Effects. In the 75th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, students were awarded 3 Champions, 2 First Runners-up and 3 Second Runners-up in the categories of English solo verse speaking, news feature presentation and public speaking solo. Doing equally well in the Chinese speaking categories, students won 1 Champion, 1 First Runner-up and 2 Second Runners-up in solo verse speaking and solo prose reading. Other awards include the Overall Second Runner-Up, a Golden and Silver Medal in the 2nd GBA-HK-Macau the “Kids’ Voice” Cup Speech and Story Telling Competition 2024. The Chinese Debate Team gained the Second Runner-up in the Secondary School Debate Competition (Human Resources Management Cup) hosted by Lingnan University Hong Kong, with Zhou Cheuk Yin being the Best Debater. Chow Chung Him earned multiple awards at the 5th Dragon Cup: the Inter-Government Secondary Schools Multi-sided Debating Competition and the 39th Sing Tao Inter-school Debating Competition - Chinese Section. In the field of sports, our school's Grade C volleyball team won the First Runner-up in the inter-school competition, while the volleyball team obtained the Overall Second Runner-up. Lee Pak Kiu achieved the Second Runner-up in the 50-meter breaststroke event in the inter-school swimming competition. In track and field, Lam Lok Yin won the Champion in the Men's Grade C long jump. The School focuses on students’ whole-person development. Cheung Hok Yin Marcus and Pang Chi Chung were respectively selected as Outstanding Students of the district in the Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary categories of the 2023 Hong Kong Island Outstanding Student Award. The School also endeavours to cultivate a sense of belonging towards the country and national identity among students. Students participated in the Basic Law Quiz Competition, the 2023 National Constitution Day Online Competition, the Territory-wide Inter-school National Security Knowledge Challenge, the 16th Hong Kong Cup Diplomatic Knowledge Contest and the Love Our Home, Treasure Our Country - Inter-school Chinese Style Drill Flag-raising Competition. The School encourages students to join different exchange programmes. Some students participated in themed exchange activities and competitions with our sister schools – Beijing Huiwen Middle School and Shangdong Zibo No.1 High School. |
