Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Primary School Profiles (PSP) 2026. This profile compiles basic information from over 500 primary schools across Hong Kong, including school mission, school facilities, teaching staff, class structure, performance assessment, school life, school characteristics, student support, and more. To give parents easy access to the most up-to-date school information, the Committee on Home-School Co-operation will fully adopt the online version of PSP starting from this school year. Schools may update their information online as needed in a timely manner.

When choosing a school for your child, you should first have thorough understanding of your child’s attributes, personality, abilities and interests, alongside a holistic consideration of the school’s educational philosophy, features, location, religious background, ethos and approach to home-school co-operation. In addition to referencing the PSP, I encourage you to attend open days, activities, or briefing sessions organised by individual primary schools to learn more about their admission procedures, development plans and distinctive features. I also recommend you to consult with school principals and teachers to gain their expert insights. Furthermore, attending the Education Bureau (EDB)’s talks on primary school transition will deepen your understanding of the mechanisms and arrangements of the Primary One Admission System.

As children transition to primary school, they are not just absorbing academic knowledge and adjusting to a completely new routine, but are also learning to build healthy relationships. Children require their parents’ guidance and support when facing these challenges. Parents should pay close attention to their children’s learning, behavioural performance, social interactions and emotional well-being. They should spend quality time to understand their children’s thoughts and feelings, so as to help them smoothly adapt to the rhythm of primary school and settle into school life.

Effective home-school co-operation is key to your child’s learning and development. Following the EDB’s release of the Blueprint for Digital Education Development in Primary and Secondary Schools this June, I encourage you to maintain close communication with your child’s school to learn how they are implementing digital education. By working hand in hand, parents and schools can foster children’s digital literacy and help them develop proper values and a positive attitude towards using artificial intelligence tools.
