Chinese, English and Putonghua speech teams and drama teams, choirs, school orchestra, different kinds of musical instrument teams, sport teams, athletics teams, dance teams, rope skipping team, elite groups for Chinese, English and Mathematics, STEAM team, Robotic coding team, Boy Scouts, Girls' Brigade, Boys' Brigade and Student fellowship etc. Besides that, we organize cultural tours for students every year, as well as co-curricular activities and community service-learning.

School Management
School Management Organisation : The school is managed by the Incorporated Management Committee of Ma On Shan Methodist Primary School.
Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee/ Management Committee : The School Management Committee has 17 directors, which include 10 sponsoring body managers, the Principal, 2 teachers, 2 parents, 1 alumnus, 1 independent member, and an alternate manager.
School Green Policy : We have appointed a senior teacher as the Resources Warden to ensure strict implementation of resource-saving measures, including use of paper, electricity, water, and reduction of kitchen waste, etc.
School's Major Concerns : Cultivate correct values and establish a healthy attitude towards life. To enhance learning and teaching effectiveness by reinforcing students' motivation and engagement in learning.
Learning and Teaching Plan
Learning & Teaching Strategies : Through the "Smart Education and Innovative Teaching Fund," our school is developing a school-based AI curriculum to create broader horizons for learning and teaching, while optimizing the Kindergarten-to-Primary transition and Primary 1 adaptation programs. In class, we implement Brain-Based Learning (BBL) strategies to enhance interaction and maintain student motivation. After school, we offer interest-based classes, school team training, and enrichment and remedial activities. Through reading schemes, project-based learning, cross-curricular activities, and diverse experiential learning, students' nine generic skills are enhanced. Furthermore, our school adopts the "Three-Tier Implementation Model" to promote school-based gifted education, integrating the "13 Creative Thinking Strategies" into lessons to strengthen higher-order thinking and comprehensively cater to the developmental needs of students with different potentials.
Development of Major Renewed Emphases of the Primary Education Curriculum : Our school places a high emphasis on life education. We implement a school-based Quality Life Education and Civic Education curriculum to help students cultivate correct values, National Identity Awareness, and a better understanding of Chinese culture. We also emphasize on talent development programs, providing higher-level groups and HOT skills training via curriculum. We apply flexibility in arranging our academic subjects, having mainly academic subjects in the morning and E+ classes in the afternoon, in which cross-curricular collaboration and life skills activities are promoted. To cater to our students' diversity, we use blended learning strategies, introduce BYOD and AI programs. In addition, we encourage students' active participation and nurture their self-driven attitude by designing diversified coursework. We embrace the development of inter-disciplinary STEAM education and extra-curricular activities, to prepare our students to face challenges in life.
Development of Generic Skills : In addition to regular classes, students can develop their generic skills during morning assembly, social and emotional learning assembly, afternoon broadcasts, book sharing sessions, project learning, cross curriculum activities and life skills activities.
Cultivation of Proper Values, Attitudes and Behaviours : The school focuses on whole-person development of students, promotes life education, and cultivates students to develop their personal strengths and potentials. School-based E+classes are established to enhance teacher-student interaction, students' problem-solving skills through promoting a caring culture, positive thinking education. For example, "6A Character Education" is to build students' virtues and cultivate their character strengths, and encourage home cooperation to jointly cultivate students in "6A". School-based award scheme used to encourage students to pursue self-awareness. We also promote National Security Education to help students gain a better understanding of our country.
Student Support
Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : We use diversified learning skills to cater for students with different abilities, and supporting teachers. This helps students to stay on the tasks in class. We also have remedial teaching and gifted programs to cater for students' diversities. We also offer different activities to grow students' potential, such as programs for outstanding students in Chinese, English or Mathematics etc.
Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our student support team includes a vice principal, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Primary School Curriculum Leader, School Guidance Teacher, Gifted Education Coordinator, School Educational Psychologist, and Speech Therapist. Through the use of the Learning Support Grant, we also recruit support teachers and provide professional support to students with educational needs.
Curriculum Tailoring and Adaptation : We have curriculum differentiation for the SEN students and special programs for the gifted students.
Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
Home-School Co-operation : Every year, there are 300 parent volunteers who help the school to implement activities. The PTA organizes parent seminars, parent-child trips and teacher appreciation banquets to increase parents' understanding and involvement in the school, giving parents a sense of belonging and enhancing parent-child relationships. In addition, there are several parent support groups, such as lunches, school uniforms etc. Two parents are selected every year to join the school board to participate in school affairs. In 2011, our school was awarded the "Excellent Caring Campus", "Most Caring Home-School Cooperation" Award, "Most Creative Service Project" Volunteer - Action Award and "Sha Tin District Outstanding Family Volunteer" from 2017 to 2019.
School Ethos : We emphasize moral education, civic, and values education, so that students develop good habits and build good character traits.
1. We design a school-based Quality Life Education program to enhance the values education, build up students' good self-esteem and develop their positive self-image.
2. We organize different kinds of extra-curricular activities and training programs alongside inter-school competitions to establish a sense of belonging and self-confidence.
