School Facilities : The area of our school is around 8,000 square metres. With the aim of providing a modern learning environment for our students, all classrooms are equipped with air-conditioning facilities, a wireless network, a central audio-visual system and an interactive electronic whiteboard. Also, we have computer rooms, a library, a black box theatre, special rooms, an AI smart fitness room, two outdoor basketball courts and a school hall with the capacity of more than 400 persons. Our school is nestled in a tranquil area, with an attractive sea view and greenery. Our School is close to Heng Fa Chuen MTR station.

Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : 1. S1 Orientation Programme: English fun games, learning skills training, religious activities, inclusion workshops, growth mindset activities, reading and sports sessions are included in the Programme.
2. S1 Buddy Programme: The Programme aims to promote connections between senior and S1 students. Students are able to develop self-directed learning skills through games, hymn-singing, team activities and homework sessions.

The School Development Committee, various committees and affairs teams ensure the proper and efficient administrative operation of the School. All subject panels and committees devise work plans which go in line with the School Development Plan.

Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : The School adopts Chinese as the medium of instruction (CMI) while placing great emphasis on English teaching and learning. To enhance students’ proficiency in English, the School
- recruits additional native English teachers to further enrich the language environment and run after-school English tutorials.
- provides the English Core Curriculum for S1 students and arranges split classes for all forms.
- increases students’ exposure to the language through a wide range of English activities such as an English immersion programme, English Day, English drama, the English Speech Festival and English speech contests.
- trains English Ambassadors to make announcements, give presentations during assemblies and host formal events and ceremonies in English.

(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : - Introduce concepts of Learning to Learn to students and encourage acquisition and application of knowledge of different subjects in order to foster curiosity and critical inquiry.
- Promote reading across the curriculum so that learning skills can be developed through reading.
- Consolidate S1 students’ foundation and cater to the learner diversity in Mathematics through school-based materials and the co-teaching approach.
- Strengthen STEAM education which stimulates students’ interest and exploration in science.

(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Mathematics Extended Part Module 2, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, BAFS, Economics, Geography, Chinese History, History, Information & Communication Technology, Tourism and Hospitality Studies, Visual Arts and Applied Learning.

2. Curriculum highlights: The school attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' self-directed learning ability. Each subject introduces the self-directed learning elements, and emphasizes pre-class preview, cooperative learning and extended learning after class. The school values the importance of equipping students with future knowledge. In addition to Chinese language, English and Putonghua at the junior secondary levels, programming is also added as a fourth language. The school also offers elective courses for junior secondary students. S.1 to S.3 students can choose one elective course during the weekday classes. There are 16 elective courses in total, including Japanese, Korean, Robotics Programming, Drone Soccer, Architecture, Innovation & Technology Design, Mobile Videography, Drama, Chinese Ink Painting, Fashion Design, Cosmetic Makeup & Skincare, Music KOL, Chinese Medicine & Culture, Creative Culinary. To cater to learner diversity, the English Core Curriculum and the Maths school-based materials are particularly designed for S.1 less able students. Teaching and learning materials are produced to help the students lay the foundations of English and enhance their confidence and interest in the language. The School develops a comprehensive life education curriculum for S.1-S.6 based on the holy spirit of Christian education and the theory of positive education (PERMA+H), aiming at serving the physical, mental and spiritual needs of students.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : 1. Life Education: Life education and values education assist students in developing positive emotions, multiperspectivity and positive thinking in studies and social life.
2. Reading to Learn: A reading scheme is launched to promote reading across the curriculum and broaden students’ reading lists.
3. Project Learning: Junior students demonstrate their abilities to integrate knowledge and skills through conducting interdisciplinary projects.
4. Use of Information Technology: The implementation of the 'Bring Your Own Device' policy makes learning become personalized. Our ultimate goal is to equip our students with self-directed learning skills and help them become life-long learners.
(5) Life Planning Education : The School is committed to providing career planning education for junior and senior students in a systematic way. With use of both online and offline resources, a range of activities are arranged to help students explore career possibilities. On top of conducting classroom activities, individual counselling, and seminars on further studies, the School organizes various activities such as the Lingnan Careers Expo, work experience programmes, visits to tertiary institutions and mentoring schemes. These initiatives aim to help students enhance self-awareness, recognize different study pathways and understand the reality in the workplace.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : The School offers a series of enhancement programmes to expand the abilities of outstanding students in various fields, such as English, Chinese, Mathematics and Science. Additionally, we have after-school learning groups and homework classes for junior students in Chinese, English, and Mathematics, aiming at supporting less able students and strengthen their foundation. To cater for learner diversity, split classes are arranged for our Chinese and English lessons, allowing teachers to design more targeted teaching activities based on students' abilities and needs. Furthermore, for weaker S1 Mathematics classes, the co-teaching approach is adopted to foster self-directed learning, enabling students to grasp the learning content and increasing their motivation to learn.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school is committed to fostering an inclusive culture by supporting students with special educational needs through the Whole School Approach. We provide a diverse range of support services to enhance their learning effectiveness. The Student Support Team works alongside our educational psychologist, social workers and counsellors to plan, implement and review various support initiatives, ensuring comprehensive assistance for students with special educational needs. We provide professional services and a variety of support measures for these students, including psychological counselling from clinical psychologists, speech therapy services, after-school homework tutoring and pre-exam revision classes, Chinese literacy training groups, after-school groups for Chinese, English, and Mathematics, emotional management groups, executive skills groups, PEERS social skills groups, and inclusive activities. Additionally, our school provides learning, homework and exam adjustments based on students' specific learning needs, helping them through interdisciplinary collaboration. For students facing individual learning or adaptation challenges, we implement an individual education plan to support and cater for the needs of these students. Furthermore, we organize parent seminars and teacher workshops to foster consensus among stakeholders in supporting students with special educational needs. Our school values home-school collaboration, regularly arranging for teachers or counsellors to communicate with parents and discussing and reviewing students' support strategies through face-to-face meetings and electronic platforms.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : A range of continuous assessments are implemented throughout the whole year. Based on the students’ learning progress, teachers adopt different modes of assessments such as research projects, book reports and oral presentations, allowing students to demonstrate their multiple competencies.
Moreover, three end-of-term assessments are in place with the use of the common scheme of assessment to measure students' learning performance.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : The School runs various activities including dining events, hiking trips and barbecue parties to enhance relationships between teachers and parents. The School also promotes parent education through talks given by professionals and prayer meetings hosted by the school pastor. It is hoped that parents nurture good values in their children with use of the Bible.
(2) School Ethos : The ethos of the School is based on simplicity. Our discipline policy is firm yet caring. In collaboration with the PTA, the School nurtures our students so they can thrive. On top of mentoring younger students, our alumni often run seminars and share personal experiences with them.
The School runs the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Scheme, in which elder students take care of and provide free after-school tutorials for younger ones. The School promotes a caring school community and instills positive values in students who would show love and respect for others in everyday life.
As a whole, the School maintains an ethos based upon simplicity and good relationships between students and teachers. We also foster self-directed learning and whole-person development.
Future Development
(1) School Development Plan : With the aim of implementing self-discipline through perseverance and self-regulation as well as promoting socialization through benevolence and positive mindset, the School envisions students becoming talented and virtuous citizens.
(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : The School invites various organizations to host training workshops and arranges for teachers to engage in exchanges with other local schools and institutions outside Hong Kong, allowing them to gain experience and enhance teaching effectiveness. Additionally, the school encourages teachers to pursue continuing professional development by participating in training courses organized by the Education Bureau and higher education institutions. Currently, half of our teachers hold a master's degree or higher.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : Large-scale events such as the School Picnic, Swimming Gala, Sports Day and various interhouse (Red, Grey, Blue & Green) competitions are held on a regular basis. The School recognizes the importance of extracurricular activities on student development, designating two days every week as extracurricular activity days. Students can participate in a myriad of after-school activities, covering seven major areas: academics, sports, arts, service, uniformed groups, interests and religion.
Others : The School has a history over 100 years. Our graduates have excelled in various fields and made significant contributions to society. They have maintained a close connection with the School, thereby setting a positive example for younger students. The School sponsoring body provides scholarships to encourage students to strive for excellence. With the support of Lingnan University, our school receives assistance in students pursuing further studies and developing effective teaching strategies. This is certainly added value of the School.
