Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2026 ).Admission criteria and weightings: Interview (30%), The Rank Order List supplied by EDB and Academic results of the primary school (30%), Conduct (20%), Extra-curricular activities (20%).
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : Orientation Activities include:
(1) To help S.1 students better adjust to secondary education and equip them with confidence and abilities to face and solve problems that might arise in their school life, our school runs an orientation and adaptation programme for new secondary one students in July.
(2) There is also a parents' day for the new students and their parents to enhance communication and co-operation between school and parents.
(3) The class-based counselling activities for secondary one students helps them to make plans and promotes co-operation within class.

Healthy School Policies: Education on healthy life and physical health are addressed in the curriculum of all subjects. Besides, through the implementation of various moral and guidance programmes, we cultivate students' positive values in self-respect, self-love, cherishing life and caring for others.

School Management

(2) School Management Organisation : The school practises school-based management and democracy in school administration through the leading of the School Executive Committee. Several functional committees work in close collaboration, with each responsible for a specific area, namely Academic Administration, Student Caring, Information and Technology, STEAM Education, Career Guidance, Discipline, Student Guidance, Religious Education, Moral and Civic Education, Co-Curricular Activities, General Affairs, Student Affairs, School Self Evaluation and Improvement, School and Community Relations and Teacher Professional Development.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : Comprised of members of the school sponsoring body, the principal, teacher representatives, parent representatives, alumni representative and an independent manager, the Incorporated Management Committee was set up on 31st August, 2013 to ensure the smooth implementation of all school policies and measures.
(4) School Green Policy : Promoting environmental education and enhancing the environmental awareness and concerns of all members of the school, including students, staff and parents. Relevant measures include the promotion of energy saving, the use of re-usable dining utensils and papers.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : The students of Caritas Wu Cheng-chung College come from over 30 different countries and regions. Chinese is the medium of instruction for junior forms. In order to cope with students' different needs and abilities, non-Chinese speaking students learn all non-language subjects in English. All subjects other than language subjects in senior forms are taught in both Chinese and English classes. Over 15% of the teaching staff are individuals of different nationalities, creating a multicultural environment both inside and outside the classroom.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Our school closely follows the new senior secondary curriculum. Teachers appropriately change the contents of the subject syllabuses, the teaching methods, students' assignments, and the assessment criteria. The school continuously develops the contents of Liberal Studies and attempts to strengthen the essential learning abilities of junior students. Diverse other learning experiences are provided to further enhance students' quality of life. In the junior level, the school follows the Territory Wide System Assessment criteria whereas the senior levels follow the SBA assessment trend in the NSS. We grouped the existing subjects into seven Key Learning Areas. In the formal curriculum, we conduct courses in performing arts to develop students' multiple intelligence.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Senior secondary students can, from a vast array of key learning areas and applied learning courses, opt for two to three electives according to their interest and aptitude.

(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : Our school is striving to develop our curriculum in line with the four key tasks stipulated in the new curriculum:
1. Reading to Learn: By making effective use of two morning reading periods per week, cross curriculum reading and various reading schemes, a reading habit is being cultivated in students.
2. Project Learning: Project learning skills are taught in Liberal Studies lessons. Students perform satisfactorily and enjoy learning through project work.
3. Information Technology for Interactive Learning: Promote STEAM education and students' learning interests.
4. Moral and Civic Education is being introduced through thorough discussions on the relevant topics during morning assemblies, hall assemblies, class-teacher periods, Life Education and Ethics and Religious Studies. The school also takes care of students' mind. Through the practice of mindfulness, mindful walking, mindful eating and educational camps, the school implements its spiritual education and life education for the students.
(5) Life Planning Education : Comprehensive programmes to facilitate career development of all students include:
1. Individual and group guidance and counseling is provided to assist students to understand their aspirations, abilities and needs; and by extension, to plan their own career path.
2. Talks on further studies, visits to universities, alumni sharing sessions and career guidance workshops are arranged in order to comprehensively keep students informed of the latest developments in the realm of further studies.
3. Career-related Experience activities such as industry experience workshops, internships, workshops on interview skills and company visits are organized for students, in order to assist them with career exploration, and instill in them an appropriate working attitude and the ability to reflect.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : To cater for diverse individual learner differences, needs and interests, small-class teaching is practiced with tailor-made courses of study for each group. With abundant opportunities for cooperative learning and project learning, students are expected to develop a culture of appreciation and cooperation. After-school enhancement programmes and remedial tutorials are provided to help our students progress academically.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Student Caring Committee was established to create an inclusive learning environment to support students with diverse learning needs. School and parents develop plans for the students together for an optimum support. Various supports such as teaching adaptation, special examination arrangements (in-school and public examination), speech therapy services, remedial learning group, social skills training group and individual educational plans (IEP) would be arranged upon certain assessments.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school; and hiring additional manpower and/or translation/interpretation services to facilitate the communication with parents of NCS students. (4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : Within each school year, there are two term examinations and one formal test to assess the academic performance of the students. Apart from these, continuous assessments such as oral report, quiz and project learning in certain subjects are adopted by teachers.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : The Parent-Teacher Association was set-up to:
- enhance parents' understanding of the school and strengthen communication.
- enhance education for parents and foster the communication between parents and children.
- encourage and provide opportunities for parents to interact and share their experiences with one another so as to build up a supporting system among them.
(2) School Ethos : Our school has established a harmonious environment of care and love. Students are polite, considerate, self-disciplined and they support one another. We strive to nurture our students in physical fitness, self-discipline, responsibility, independent thinking, creativity, leadership and social skills. Various life education programmes on nurturing positive attitudes and values in students are implemented through the morning assemblies, hall assemblies and class-teacher periods.

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Whole school approach to promote teachers' professional development: Facilitate co-teaching and collaboration in lesson preparation to further enhance teaching effectiveness in English/Chinese/Mathematics.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : To further develop the diverse interests and potential of students, our school has organized various co-curricular activities for them, including: Basketball Team, Badminton Team, Table Tennis Team, Kabaddi Team, Rugby Team, Football Team, Athletics Team, Dance, Choir, English Drama Club, Verse Speaking Club, Astronomy Club, Chinese Club, English Club, Mathematics Club, Science Club, Music Club, Visual Art Club, Hand in Hand Group, Spartans, Student Union, Religion Club, Civic Education Ambassadors, Student Librarians, Caring Ambassadors.
Others : Our school adopts ‘zero-tolerance’ policy against bullying. Our Guidance Committee carries out regular workshops for students to prevent bullying, which helps create a harmonious and caring learning atmosphere for our students.

Our school offers several prizes and awards to encourage students to attain a high standard of learning abilities. These include Service Award from Caritus, Tertiary Education Award, PTA Outstanding Academic Performance and Conduct Scholarship and PTA Outstanding Progress Scholarship. Besides, suitable students are nominated for the Rev. Joseph Carra Memorial Education Grant. For those students who have financial difficulties, they can apply for the Lenten Campaign Education Grant.
