Activities including Environmental Ambassadors, Gardening Teens, Green Day and Recycling can enhance students’ awareness of protecting the environment. What’s more, all subjects and departments are doing their best to cultivate our students’ sense of responsibility in terms of environmental protection.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : Our school fosters an English-rich environment through cross-curricular collaboration, integrating English into non-language subjects and offering activities such as drama, writing workshops, and debate training. In partnership with Harrow International School Hong Kong, we provide free English drama and Art program where Form One students attend classes, broadening their exposure and skills. These efforts aim to enhance overall English proficiency in authentic contexts.
In Chinese Language, the curriculum emphasizes extensive reading and cultural literacy, supported by thematic worksheets and monthly reading initiatives. Annual events including Chinese Week and Putonghua Week strengthen language engagement. Our students excel in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival across Cantonese and Putonghua categories. The Putonghua curriculum aligns with standard proficiency tests, and additional support—such as Cantonese classes and individual tutorials—is available for diverse learning needs.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Our school promotes teaching innovation and refinement to support students' diverse learning needs. Group-based instruction is used to tailor guidance to individual pacing and abilities, helping each student achieve their potential. Clear assessment policies are applied across subjects to ensure fair, objective, and teaching-aligned evaluation. The Curriculum Committee provides detailed test analyses to inform teaching strategies and curriculum development, fostering a cycle of data-driven improvement. Technology integration is emphasized through diverse e-learning models and advanced facilities, which enhance classroom interaction and support self-directed learning and digital literacy. Additionally, STEAM education is expanded through interdisciplinary projects and an advanced Math Olympiad program, offering challenging opportunities that develop higher-order thinking and creativity.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 3X and 4X. Students may choose 1 elective from each 3X group (3-5 subjects in each X group). It is more efficient to take care of the top and bottom students. The NSS curriculum can let students choose 3 electives freely. Outstanding students may choose the forth elective. Last year, a student who took four elective subjects was successfully admitted to The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
2. Curriculum highlights: Our school supports student diversity through differentiated instruction and adaptive curricula. Students are grouped by ability into small classes for Chinese, English, and Mathematics, with enrichment and support strategies to enhance outcomes. Lessons incorporate multi-sensory and multi-intelligence strategies, cooperative learning, tiered tasks, and peer tutoring to provide appropriate challenges and support. Applied courses are also available to expand learning pathways and practical skills.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : 1. Strengthening Values Education: Integrate values education into the school development plan and all subject curricula to cultivate students' character and sense of social responsibility.
2. Moral and Civic Education: To understand more about Chinese culture and Chinese history, to strengthen social identity, to nurture students’ positive values and attitudes.
3. Reading to Learn: For the Morning Reading Schemes, morning reading sessions are arranged to encourage students to borrow books from the school library regularly and build a good reading habit.
4. Diversity Learning Week: To explore project learning skills and nurture students the spirit of exploring knowledge and cooperation through various subjects and Life-wide Learning Week.

(5) Life Planning Education : Our school offers a comprehensive career development program using a whole-school approach to help students make informed education and career choices based on their interests and strengths. The program covers self-awareness, career exploration, and planning. Junior students develop self-understanding through seminars and structured lessons, while senior students participate in tertiary visits, workshops, and workplace experiences to better understand career pathways. Individual counselling is provided from Secondary 4. Tailored support—such as adapted materials and small-group tutorials—is available for students with diverse needs. All teachers contribute to connecting classroom learning with real-world career readiness through mentoring and practical activities.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : 1. The four core subjects put students in groups according to their abilities in order to cater for their learning diversities and for the purpose of carrying out remedial and enhancement programmes.
2. An educational psychologist and two stationing social workers are available at school to take care of the students with different educational needs. We have a 'JCC Buddies' to help junior students adapt to the new environment while the senior form students can train their leadership skills.
3. Teachers of each subject will sit together regularly to have collaborative lesson planning to design the teaching aids and revise the curriculum in order to cater for the different learning abilities of students. Also, it is aimed to improve teaching and learning efficiency.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school has established a Student Support Team led by the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to promote an inclusive culture through a whole-school approach. The team supports students with special educational needs (SEN) by leveraging resources such as the Learning Support Grant, Support Grant for Non-Chinese Speaking Students with SEN, and community partnerships. We provide timely and tailored services to enhance learning effectiveness, foster integration, and help each student realize their potential. Our goal is to build a respectful and inclusive campus environment for all.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : The school adopts a continuous assessment to evaluate students’ academic performance by stages. Three exams are arranged in a school year. Special assessment arrangements are implemented for students with special educational needs, such as extending the exam time and exemptions on some papers.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : Our school highly values the home-school partnership. We regularly host engaging parent exchange activities, fostering an exceptionally close-knit and supportive community among parents. Whether it's festive events, open days, parent-child workshops, or volunteer initiatives, our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) plays an active and essential role with enthusiastic involvement.

We believe that a strong bond between home and school is not only vital to a child’s development but also key to building an inclusive and collaborative campus culture. Here, you will find a school community that truly listens, respects, and cares for every family. We look forward to partnering with you to nurture our children’s growth—together.
(2) School Ethos : JCCSS(TM)fosters a positive, caring, and disciplined environment focused on holistic student development. Guided by the motto "Ever Striving, Never Ceasing" the school emphasizes character building, mental well-being, and social adaptability alongside academic growth.

We promote a culture of mutual respect and perseverance through active teacher-student relationships and peer support initiatives led by the Student Development Committee. Annual traditions such as the "Climbing Castle Peak" activity encourage resilience and determination in facing challenges.

Students are given meaningful autonomy—including opportunities to participate in classroom decoration and other hands-on projects—strengthening their sense of belonging and responsibility. Many alumni maintain strong connections with the school and return to share their professional experiences.

A wide range of programs enhances learning beyond the classroom: Diversity Learning Week incorporates project-based and outdoor learning, with student presentations to develop confidence and teamwork. We encourages junior form students to learn musical instruments and engage in sports and arts. The dragon boat team has achieved notable success in inter-school competitions, with members selected for the Hong Kong team. Our students are supported to excel both personally and academically.
