Secondary One Admission, Orientation Activities & Healthy School Life Secondary One Admission, Orientation Activities & Healthy School Life
Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2026 ).Criteria of judgment: Academic results and students' rank order (provided by the EDB): 45%, Interview performance: 40%, Extra-curricular activities: 15%, Conduct: Grade B or above.
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : S.1 Orientation Day is held in mid-July. In mid-August, our school organizes an English Bridging Course for S.1 newcomers to help them adapt to the EMI environment.
Students' whole-person development has long been the prime concern of our school. Through organising numerous activities including implementation of "Power-up Station", "4Rs Mental Health Charter", "Values Education" and the "Healthy School Programme", the Student Support Teams have effectively promoted students' physical, mental and spiritual wellness.

School Management
(1) School's Major Concerns : To build a vibrant learning community in pursuit of academic excellence;
To cultivate students’ positive virtues and resilience in life.
(2) School Management Organisation : The School Management Committee comprises a representative from the EDB, the Principal, two teacher representatives, two parent representatives, an alumni representative, and two independent members. All parties work together for the common goal of providing quality education for our students. Various departments coordinate their efforts to enhance students’ academic and non-academic development.

(4) School Green Policy : To develop an action plan to improve the school environment and enrich students’ environmental knowledge, we aim at raising students’ awareness of sustainable development and promoting environmental protection and energy conservation through a wide range of activities and measures.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : With the exception of Chinese Language, Chinese History, Chinese Literature, Putonghua, Health Management and Social Care, Citizenship and Social Development, all subjects adopt English as the medium of instruction.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Our teachers are dedicated to coping with learner diversity and actively engage in continuous professional development. All the teachers have acquired basic computer literacy skills to apply IT in learning and teaching. Besides stressing academic pursuits, our school also focuses on life-wide learning. To cultivate students’ reading interest, we encourage students to join various reading schemes. Apart from the school-based Chinese/English Extensive Reading Scheme, we provide a reading period every Thursday morning. Students are encouraged to read Chinese and English reading materials and magazines. This broadens students’ minds and outlook on life. We also hold regular activities like sharing of must-read books, talks by authors, book exhibitions, and Reading Month to foster a culture of reading in students.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Our school offers 3X classes (for students taking three electives) and 2X classes (for students taking two electives) from S.4 to S.6.

(4) Speech training, such as presentation, discussion, and debate.
English Language:
(1) Integration of language Arts & non-language Arts into the mainstream curriculum, such as learning English through movies & drama, and through social issues;
(2) Debate, drama, and public speaking training.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : The morning reading period is conducted every week to nurture a love of reading in students. In order to enhance teaching effectiveness, our teachers always integrate technology and digital tools in the classroom. Project-based learning (STEAM Education) is implemented in S.1-S.2. Various activities related to moral and life education, civic and national education are organised.
(5) Life Planning Education : Our students are encouraged to set realistic life goals for further studies and future careers based on personal abilities and interests, starting from junior forms. Apart from regular life planning education programmes at different levels, students are arranged to participate in assorted activities, for example, workplace visits, university information days, dining etiquette workshops, and a mock HKDSE Result Release Day, all of which allow students to broaden their horizons and equip themselves with the capabilities to deal with different situations that they may encounter in the future.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : After-School Support Programme; Remedial Classes & Consolidation Classes; Gifted Education Programmes, etc.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school endeavours to cultivate an inclusive environment for our students. We have adopted a Whole School Approach to support our students with special educational needs (SEN). Through resource allocation and professional intervention, students with special needs have all along been provided with timely and diversified support services to enhance their learning effectiveness and help them adapt to their school life.
The Student Support Team is set up to cater for the diversified needs of students with special needs. The core members include the Assistant Principal, SEN Coordinator, Guidance and Counselling Mistress, Discipline Master, Careers and Life Planning Mistresses, Prefects of Studies, Educational Psychologist, school social workers, and the teaching assistant of integrated education. Our school has systematically developed professional training plans for teachers in this regard. Resources are deployed to provide appropriate and diverse support for students with various needs, enabling them to adapt to school life and achieve the desired learning outcomes. Students are provided with multiple support measures, like differentiated teaching, assessment adjustments, and pull-out remedial lessons. We seek professional support and offer guidance groups, reading and writing training groups, social skills and emotional management skills training groups, occupational therapy services, speech therapy services, attention training, and individualized education plans to students with SEN. Individual counselling and assessment are also provided for students with special needs.
Our school treasures home-school cooperation by establishing regular communication channels to facilitate parents’ participation in the formulation of policy on student support
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : Our school provides tests and examinations, continuous assessments and project-based assessments, etc.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : The PTA serves well as a bridge between parents and our school which is supportive of our school development and students' learning. PTA scholarships are awarded to students with an excellent performance in social services and outstanding academic achievements. It is also commendable that some helpful and thoughtful parents never hesitate to render assistance in an array of school activities.
(2) School Ethos : Our school strives to provide quality education and promote a pleasurable learning environment. The Discipline Team has been working in close collaboration with the Guidance and Counselling Team to nurture positive attitudes and values in students. Remedial and consolidation classes and mass programmes are organised to support students’ diverse needs. The Student Association functions effectively to organise wide-ranging activities for students.

Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : There are 20 extra-curricular activity clubs which are divided into 4 categories: academic clubs, interest clubs, uniformed groups & service teams as well as sports association. Striving for academic excellence, our school also emphasizes the importance of diversified extra-curricular activities, community services, training courses and leadership training camps to nurture students’ generic skills. Furthermore, our students have made remarkable achievements in inter-school English debate competitions and inter-school ball games competitions. In music, with our well-trained Chinese Orchestra and Symphonic Band, we provide multifarious music activities, namely music concerts, mainland as well as overseas exchange programmes, plus public music performances to broaden students’ global vision.
