Secondary One Admission, Orientation Activities & Healthy School Life Secondary One Admission, Orientation Activities & Healthy School Life
Secondary One Admission : Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2026 ).The assessment criteria are as follows: Internal exam results and the Rank Order List by Education Bureau: 50%, Performance in interviews: 35%, Conduct, ECA achievement, positions of responsibilities held at school: 15%.
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : An 'Induction Program' is tailor-made for S.1 students. The objectives of the program are to nurture students to become independent and responsible learners and to help students develop clear learning goals and paths. Through cultivating good learning and reading habits, we aim to develop a purpose-driven attitude among students.
In the 'Big Brother, Big Sister' scheme, appointed senior students are trained to help S.1 students adapt to their new school life. 'Big Brothers' and 'Big Sisters' will share study skills, time management skills, examination techniques and interpersonal skills with them. Summer activities include S.1 Orientation Day and the bridging course.
All students join the School Physical Fitness Award Scheme organized by the Hong Kong Childhealth Foundation and Education Bureau. Activities are organized to improve students’ physical fitness like Active Friday and health information is shared to promote a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, the Campus Station, Chinese and English Debate Clubs, Orchestra, Kyudo Club, Cross Country Team, Volunteer Service Team and other types of extra-curricular activities are also channels to help our students develop a healthy lifestyle. Besides, our Parent-teacher Association organizes 'Healthy Fruit Day' to encourage students to eat fresh fruits daily.

School Management

(2) School Management Organisation : School-based management is implemented and supported by the Incorporated Management Committee, Administrative Committee and Parent-Teacher Association. The Incorporated Management Committee comprises Sponsoring Body Managers, the School Principal, Teacher Manager, Parent Manager, Alumni Manager and Independent Manager. All committees hold regular meetings. The Principal and different committees and panel heads communicate with teachers and exchange views to ensure different departments and committees run smoothly and make improvements.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : The Incorporated Management Committee of Christian Alliance S C Chan Memorial College was established on 30th August, 2008.
(4) School Green Policy : Environmental protection is promoted in our school. The use of various resources such as energy and paper is monitored to ensure they are used wisely. 'Low-Carbon Campus' Scheme is jointly run by Civic and National Education Committee & Task Group on Promoting Environmental Education. Recycling bins are available in the campus for students to practise environmental protection.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : The school mainly uses English as the medium of instruction. Our school also employs a native-speaking English teacher and a native-speaking English Teaching Assistant and emphasizes the development of bi-literacy and tri-lingualism. In addition, the English environment is enriched by diverse activities including Lunch Time Forum and the English Corner activities. Furthermore, activities held by the Chinese, English and Mathematics Panels and the Putonghua Speaking Days are also popular among students.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : Our school not only prioritizes academic excellence but also values students' personal growth. The strong rapport between teachers and students enhances effective learning and fosters a warm, supportive environment. Our curriculum is designed not only to meet societal demands but also to promote holistic development, accommodating diverse student abilities.

In S.2, we implement project-based learning, and the curricula across all subjects aim to develop higher-order thinking skills. Through a variety of engaging learning activities, students are well-prepared for future challenges. Additionally, we host a Lunch Time Forum and TED Talks to enhance students' communication skills. The Reading Award Scheme expands their knowledge base, while class study groups are encouraged to foster collaborative learning.

To address learning diversity, we offer catch-up and booster classes as well. Our school is also participating in the Intercultural Exchanges Program organized by ASF.

(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : 1. The Student Reading Award Scheme and Reading Tuesdays have been implemented to foster a love for reading.
2. All classrooms and specialized rooms are equipped with IT learning and teaching facilities to enhance interactive learning.
3. A large-scale project-based learning initiative aimed at developing research skills and fostering an inquisitive mindset is conducted in S.2.
4. The 'Volunteer Campaign' and 'Service and Experience Camp' are organized by the Civic Education Committee to encourage students to become dedicated and virtuous citizens.
5. Students are encouraged to explore their interests and engage in learning beyond the classroom. All S.2 students participate in the Mainland Exchange Programme organized by the Education Bureau, while S.5 students join study tours related to Citizenship and Social Development. Additionally, cultural tours are organized for other students. Furthermore, three "Life-wide Learning Days" are held each year.

4. empower students to make informed and responsible choices on their learning, career goals and other aspects leading to a meaningful life.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : We provide ample resources for enhancement and remedial classes. Split-class teaching is implemented in Chinese, English, and Mathematics lessons to support students' learning. To improve learning effectiveness, we employ various teaching methodologies within a student-centered approach.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : Our school is committed to cultivating an inclusive environment for all students. We have adopted a Whole School Approach to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

To address the diverse needs of our SEN students, we have established a Student Support Team. The core members include the Vice Principal, SEN Coordinator, Student Guidance Mistress, Discipline Master, Careers Guidance Mistress, School Social Worker, and Educational Psychologist. To enhance teachers' professional capacity in supporting students with SEN, we arrange for staff to participate in structured Basic, Advanced, and Thematic (BAT) Courses offered by the Education Bureau. These courses facilitate the implementation of integrated education through our Whole School Approach.

We utilize the Learning Support Grant (LSG) to employ a Student Counselor and Teaching Assistants who provide tailored support for students in need. Additionally, the LSG is allocated to purchase various services, including Individual Psychotherapy, School-based Speech Therapy, Social Skills Training, and learning support.

Moreover, we have employed a school-based Educational Psychologist to assist with early identification and accommodation of SEN needs. This professional conducts necessary assessments and provides counseling to students facing learning challenges, helping them adjust to the school curriculum. We also offer special examination arrangements for SEN students as required.

Multi-disciplinary case conferences are held to develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), ensuring better adjustment for SEN students.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : The school provides various adaptations for learning and assessment tailored to professional recommendations and the specific educational needs of students.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the school have collaborated harmoniously to support the growth of our students. The PTA has organized a variety of activities, including S.1 Parents’ Class, peer support groups for parents, music therapy workshops, interest classes, seminars, the Fruit for Health Campaign, and the Parents Appreciating Teachers initiative.
(2) School Ethos : Our school fosters an environment of purity and simplicity. Students are polite, well-behaved, and eager to learn. Teachers build strong relationships with their students. The "Bi-Class Teacher System" is implemented for S.1 to S.4, ensuring that students receive ample attention from two class teachers. The S.1 summer bridging course helps students acclimate to the new learning environment of secondary school. The Student Union, Prefects, and Guidance Prefects also offer valuable support. Our social worker, educational therapist, and teachers are readily accessible to students.
Future Development

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Teachers are well-equipped for the Senior Secondary curriculum. We organize annual staff retreats and seminars to enhance professional development. Teaching effectiveness is further improved through collaborative teaching, peer observations, and evaluations of seminars and workshops.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : Our school actively promotes extra-curricular activities, offering 30 interest groups this year for all students. Through religious, academic, cultural, and sporting activities, as well as community service, students can develop their creativity and potential. The "Be an SCCer" program is specifically designed for S.1 students, fostering diverse interests and establishing positive values. Other programs include Life-wide Learning Days, volunteer work, Christmas celebrations, Athletics Meets, Swimming Galas, mainland life experience camps, local school exchange experiences, and cross-border and overseas study tours.
Others : 1. Cheung Yu Ching (S.3) got the Tuen Mun Outstanding Student Award, Tuen Mun Excellent Student Award and Link 20th Anniversary Outstanding Student Scholarship.
2. Loh Chi Ching got the Merit Award in the Tuen Mun Outstanding Student Election 2025 and Tuen Mun Excellent Student Award.
3. 2023/24 graduate Cherry Wan Ching Wa was awarded the "Hong Kong Jockey Club Striding On Scholarship". This award recognizes her outstanding academic performance and exceptional contributions to serving the community over the past few years.
4. 2023/24 graduate Torres Yung was awarded the "Link University Scholarship". This award recognizes his outstanding performance in his HKDSE last year.
5. Ms Tsoi Hiu Laam won the Merit Award in the “Life Event’ Presentation Slides Design Competition” organized by the Moral, Civic and National Education Section of the Education Bureau.
6. Lam Tsz Yan (S.6) got Merit Award in “Future Star . Wen Wei Po Scholarship 2024”.
7. Fan Hiu Ching(S.5) participated in the "Strive for Success" Youth Challenge Program organized by the Tuen Mun District Home Affairs Department. After six months of training and service, she successfully passed two rounds of interviews and was offered the chance to travel to France for an exchange program in April.
8. Our Cross Country Team had brilliant performance in the Panasonic Hong Kong Cross Country Championships 2024. We got the 2nd Runner-up in Women's Junior Team.
9. Our choir got Silver Award in Hong Kong Inter-School Festival - Competition Cum Masterclass & Joint School Music Competition 2025.

Remarks : Eleven elective subjects are offered in the senior curriculum.
