HKFYG Lee Shau Kee College (HLC) is dedicated to nurturing and encouraging all our students, challenging them to be the best that they can be, in and outside the classroom. We subscribe to the belief that English Musical and English Debating are effective and enjoyable ways for HLCians to foster their creativity, divergent thinking and collaboration. |
| (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | To prepare students for lifelong learning, our pedagogy is student-centred to enhance self-directed learning. E-learning is adopted in all subjects and reading is actively promoted at HLC. HLC is the very first Hong Kong secondary school to collaborate with local universities to nurture gifted students through MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses). We also offer “HLC Scholar Scheme” which is a fast track curriculum to gifted students who obtain excellent results academically and complete MOOCs from designated subjects. HLC scholars may skip one year in the junior forms. |

| (1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity | : | With the advantages of direct subsidy scheme, more teachers and peer counsellors are employed. Together with the educational psychologist, the clinical psychologist and the speech therapist, our school aims to cater for learner diversity and build a positive school culture. |
| (2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education | : | A whole-school approach is adopted to provide assistance to students with special educational needs. Students are not only supported by teachers to cater for their diversified learning needs, but there are also trained teachers on Guidance Team, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, clinical psychologist and speech therapist who work collaboratively and provide help right at our school. After school, we conduct various study groups, tutoring sessions, and inclusive activities to assist students in establishing effective learning habits and social skills. We also emphasize the importance of home-school cooperation in order to provide all-round, appropriate support to students. |
| (3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students | : | Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school; and our school uses Putonghua to teach Chinese in all classes / groups at certain levels with extra support as appropriate, e.g. pull-out/small-group classes, learning and teaching resources with Pinyin, etc. Our School helps students obtain Chinese Language qualifications. |
| (4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment | : | Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; organising cultural integration activities; and our school uses Putonghua to teach Chinese at certain levels with extra support, e.g. after-school small-group classes, learning resources with Pinyin, etc. Our School offers after school Chinese enrichment program and help students obtain Chinese Language qualifications. |

Needy students, including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) could apply for fee remission. The Principal keeps parents updated about the School through his quarterly reports; we also use the intranet and mobile applications to inform parents of news and students' homework. |
