Secondary One Admission, Orientation Activities & Healthy School Life

Secondary One Admission	:	Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2026 ).Admission criteria include: Academic results (50%), Interview (25%), Conduct and Extra-curricular activities (25%).
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life	:	The School provides summer English bridging courses and an orientation day for new S.1 students. A variety of orientation programmes of academic, discipline, counselling and extra-curricular activities are provided to both students and parents. Form-teacher periods, talks and workshops on time management and study skills are held to help students adapt to secondary school education. Life-wide Learning Day helps students enhance social skills and problem-solving skills as well as promote the spirit of team work. Health Diet module is provided in S.1 & S.2 Home Economics lessons. To develop students healthy diet habit through nutrition and meal plan projects, food experiments and cookery lessons. School tuck-shop provides healthy snacks and lunch boxes. Talks, seminars and exhibitions on nutrition, sanitation and health are held regularly for students to promote personal health. Systematic physical exercise training is provided in physical education lessons and in after-school track-and-field, ball-games and swimming coaching. Inter-class competitions of rope-skipping, basketball and table-tennis, ball games competition as well as Sports Day and Swimming Gala are held every year to enhance the awareness of the importance of physical exercise.

School Management

(2) School Management Organisation	:	Under the Incorporated Management Committee (IMC), the School Affairs Committee (SAC) is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating (PIE) the daily operations of the School. Under the SAC are the sub-committees, including Academic Development Committee, Student Support Committee, Administration and External Affairs Committee and Gospel Ministry Committee.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee	:	The School has established the IMC, and is committed to implementing "school-based management" in school and to cultivating the Christian spirit of all-round education. The IMC is composed of various kinds of school managers from stakeholders of the school sponsoring body, principal, teachers, parents, alumni and independent bodies. The IMC members work jointly and actively to oversee the management and development of the School, and further improve the transparency and accountability of school management.
(4) School Green Policy	:	The School has green-school facilities like Ecological Lake, Environmental Protection Center, Ecological Corridor and Trail and Green Roof Garden. In addition, the school has installed a solar panel system, as well as a number of related illumination facilities. The campus has abundant flowers and trees, birds and fish, as well as solar-energy lamps. The School aims to train student leaders to promote the awareness of a Green School and to implement recycling plans for waste materials and a scheme of self-prepared tableware to strengthen the green education.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy	:	Science has been taught in English in all Junior forms. Some classes in junior forms are taught in English as the medium of instruction (EMI) in some subjects (Mathematics, Life and Society, Geography, Computer Literacy, Citizenship, Economics and Society) while Chinese (CMI) plus Extended Learning Activities in English are adopted in some subjects in different junior forms (Computer Literacy, Home Economics, Bible Studies, Music, Visual Arts, Life and Society, Geography and History). The DSE subjects like BAFS, Mathematics (Extended Parts M1 & M2), Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography are conducted in English to meet the needs and capabilities of students.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies	:	Students' English proficiency is strengthened by our two Native-speaking English Teachers. Students can also participate in various activities in English Café, English Drama, English Writing and Oral Classes and English Ambassador Scheme. Life-wide Learning, Project Learning and e-learning are promoted with the aid of I.T. facilities and audio-visual aids. The schemes of Lesson Observation and Assignment Review, a variety of Award Schemes of Learning have been implemented. The school-based curricula in different subjects are tailor-made to fit the needs and progresses of students.

(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum	:	1. The Chinese and English Morning Reading sessions help create and maintain an active reading atmosphere. “Power of Reading” and junior secondary Reading across Curriculum Award Scheme is held to encourage students to nurture a reading habit. In order to improve students’ reading skills, Chinese and English Extensive Reading Schemes are provided. Book fairs and reading activities are organized. Renowned writers are invited to the school assembly to deliver talks on reading; 2. Implement STREAM Education in junior forms, aiming at promoting students' ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills, and to solve problems through collaboration and creativity; 3. The aims and strategies are as follows: • S.1-S.6: Knowing the World of Careers - With Career Guidance Newsletters published quarterly by the school Career Ambassadors, sharing by teachers and alumni in morning assemblies, and visits to outside organizations, students can understand more about different aspects of various occupations. • S.2: University Campus Tours - All students have a chance of group visit to campuses of the local universities and to meet the alumni studying there. This activity helps students boost the determination to study in university in future. • S.3: Self-understanding – choosing elective subjects for senior secondary - With form-teacher periods, career groups and parents’ nights held in the year, students can understand more about the characteristics of different subjects and university entrance requirements. Students are provided with guidance to wisely choose the subjects based on their interests, traits, abilities and career goals. • S.4: Reflections of Senior-form Learning Experiences - By participating in short-term internship programs offered by outside organizations and having form-teacher periods in the year, students are helped to reflect upon their learning experiences and pursue their career paths step by step. To meet the ends they learn to fine-tune their present learning strategies and goals. • S.5: Career Planning - With form-teacher periods, career groups and parents' nights in the year, students learn more about the entrance requirements of various disciplines in universities and other institutions. • S.6: Targeting the JUPAS - With form-teacher periods, career groups, career workshops, parents' nights and mock interviews, students are helped to choose their study paths based on their career goals and predicted HKDSE results.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity	:	To meet the students' needs, small-class teaching in Chinese, English and Mathematics is conducted with tailor-made curriculum in various forms. The progress of teaching as well as the assessment of learning are conducted in accordance with the students' academic foundation and learning ability.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education	:	Our school holds numerous educational activities every year, such as Dialogue in the Dark Experience and Inclusive Fun Day, which help students learn mutual respect in a relaxing and interesting environment. Besides, we regularly set and review students’ learning goals. To cater for individual needs of our students, we also give advice on adjusting teaching methodology and curriculum. We also provided different training groups for students with special educational needs such as social skills groups, development of executive skills groups, communication skills groups, etc.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students	:	Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment	:	Diverse assessment, 2 uniform tests and 2 examinations every year. School-based formative assessment strategy is conducted to assess students' academic performance.
Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation	:	With outstanding achievements, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) holds a series of Parents' nights, Parents' Days, Parents' groups, seminars, talks, courses and workshops on family education which are regularly held to meet parent's needs. A number of activities including orientations and interest classes are held every year. PTA helps publish PTA bulletin and implement "collection & sale of old textbooks" service every year.
(2) School Ethos	:	The school emphasizes self-discipline, respect and good school ethos through religious, moral and civic education, leadership training, social services, pastoral care by form-teachers, personal-growth schemes and extra-curricular activities. Through different kinds of collaborative and personal development activities, students learn to appreciate, respect, accept and trust, and build up the sense of belonging to school. The School implements Integration Education and Peer Counselling Scheme to cultivate the school ethos of mutual respect and acceptance.
