School Facilities : The Y2K school campus is used in our school. All rooms are air-conditioned. Major sports facilities include a large sports ground of 1900 sq. meters (for handball, tennis and volleyball training), a gymnasium, a volleyball court and a basketball court. There is a long environmental trail surrounding the campus. Advanced IT facilities: Internet service of 1G bps Symmetric, extensive high-speed Wi-Fi Coverage, Creative Learning Centre: with interactive software for composing music and visual arts, 3D Modelling Laboratory, Advanced Materials Research Centre, Cell Biotechnology Research Centre, Distance Education Research Centre and Computer Room equipped with over 100 tablet computers, a high-definition Campus TV station. All major repairs and additions are done when required. The next round of major repair will soon be completed.

Secondary One Admission : Our school will not participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2026 ).Criteria for selection & weighting: Academic results (40%); Conduct (20%); Extracurricular activities and service (20%); Interview (20%) Our School directly admits all Secondary 1 students, and all Primary 6 students in Hong Kong's different regions may apply.
Orientation Activities and Healthy Life : To help new students adapt to the new learning environment, an Orientation Programme is conducted during the summer before school commencement. The Programme covers Bridging Course on English Language and Experiential Learning in Information & Communication Technology & Science, Languages and Culture. The Programme also includes introduction to Discipline, Counselling, Co-curricular Activities and Career Orientation. In cooperation with School Social Worker, Discipline and Counselling Teams provide a training programme to students. A S.1 Growth Camp and Parent-Teacher Meeting are held every September.

School Management
(1) School's Major Concerns : Being Rooted in Chinese Culture, Forging a Global Outlook, Providing an All-round Education, Developing the Potentials of Individuals
(2) School Management Organisation : School Management Committee, School Principal, Deputy Principals, Assistant Principals. Policies related to daily operation are handled by the School Policy Group composed of 6 experienced teachers, i.e. School Principal, Deputy Principals and Assistant Principals.
(3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee : School Management Committee is composed of 5 members from our school sponsoring body, 5 professionals, School Principal, 1 parent manager and 1 teacher manager.
(4) School Green Policy : The School always promotes sustainable development (SD), successfully acquiring awards in the area since 2009. In addition, we obtained Gold Award of the 2019 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence – Sectorial Awards (Schools – Secondary). Our school-based Green Policy is regularly updated and improved. Green Purchasing System is firmly followed by using more environmentally friendly materials, e.g. paints and detergents.
Learning and Teaching Plan
(1) Whole-school Language Policy : English is our medium of instruction. All our English teachers have attained the Language Proficiency Requirement for Teachers ("benchmarking"), and our students' command of English meets the requirements set out in EDB's "Medium of Instruction Policy for Secondary Schools". An English Bridging Course is provided to S.1 students. We also strive to improve the biliterate and trilingual competence of our students. Introductory Japanese and Spanish courses are given to junior students. DSE students may choose "Other Language" subjects, e.g. Spanish, French and Japanese.
(2) Learning and Teaching Strategies : In high-tech teaching, we choose advanced computer hardware and systems together with the latest authorized software, e.g. mobile learning platform, cloud technology, to upgrade teaching.
Life-wide learning activities include project-based learning, visits, excursions, social service, local and overseas education tours. Four NETs are employed. In oral lessons, each class is divided into four small groups to maximize students' practice opportunities.
(3) School-based Curriculum : 1. Electives: 2X and 3X. Students may choose 2X or 3X based on their own ability, etc. They may also choose Maths Extended Part Modules M1 & M2.
2. Curriculum highlights: CFSS is an EMI school. Resources are used flexibly. Language policy, curriculum restructuring, financial & human resources are arranged flexibly. Based on the theme of "21st Century Education in CFSS", students establish positive core values and search for excellence to attain life-long learning. With strong sense of responsibility and commitment, they aim to be future learned citizens. Being forward-looking, CFSS's curricula include such subjects as Enrichment Course, Science Education, ICT & AI Education and STREAM Education.
(4) Major Renewed Emphases in the School Curriculum : Extensive Reading: Reading is instilled in students through various subjects to increase their exposure to reading. Extensive Reading Award Scheme is introduced to encourage students to build up a healthy reading habit. To further enhance students' interest, class libraries are set up in S.1 and S.2. The school offers 5 online reading platforms for students to access from home. Student-centred Learning & Flipped Classrooms are encouraged in different subjects with the high of above-standard equipment are provided (for IT, EC and CS lessons, etc.), Creative Learning Centre (ICT, Visual Arts and Music), Computer Room and HD Campus TV (Creative Media); Project-based Learning (PBL) for S.1 & S.2;
Moral and Civic Education: Themes are arranged for each level so that students can participate in various activities and learn the corresponding theme. We hope that students can achieve respect, care, self-discipline, integrity, responsibility, perseverance and resilience throughout their secondary school life. The activities include Merit Award Scheme, Inter-House Competition on Promoting Positive Values, Pledge Day, Civic Forum, Lunchtime Extended Activities on Positive Values and a periodical called "The Firewood".
(5) Life Planning Education : Career and Life Planning (CLP) Grant have been introduced to enhance and enrich life planning education elements for students. One additional teacher is employed to enhance the capacity of the School and the Career Team to provide comprehensive life planning education and career guidance service. We will reinforce the holistic approach of career planning by introducing the concept of Career Planning Cycle (self-understanding and development, career exploration, career planning and management) We comprehensively implement the holistic career and life planning education onto 4 levels – formal curriculum, beyond the classroom, real business world stimulation and real job experience. Students may broaden their horizons on the wide spectrum of career area through experience sharing and workshops. They may integrate career and life planning concepts into their multiple aspects of school life.
Student Support
(1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity : The school actively develops gifted education. With the Education Bureau's 3-tier structure as the blueprint, students are provided with different opportunities in such areas as writing, mathematics, scientific research, IT, sports, music and visual arts. In addition, we hold several pull-out programmes each year. The specially-gifted students are provided with enforcement courses and training, subsidies for courses in tertiary institutions and scholarships. Educational psychological assessment and tutorial/remedial classes are also provided to take care of students with diverse education needs. All subjects offer group/individual tutorials to students during free periods and after school by teachers/assistant teachers. Our school arranges education tours during long vacations.
(2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education : The school has a SEN Coordinator who is responsible for coordinating the utilization of internal and external resources and learning support grants, arranging appropriate support for students with special educational needs through collaboration with various student support teams. In addition to learning support and assessment adaption, there is school-based service from an educational psychologist and a speech therapist. They pay regular visits to the school to support needy students. Courses and workshops on various themes are organised to provide training and support to them. There is a close cooperation between parents and teachers. Parents are informed of the learning progress of students. Besides, the school arranges teachers and staff to attend related training programmes so as to foster a caring, supportive and inclusive learning environment for students' effective learning and good health. If non-Chinese-speaking students have special educational needs, the school will effectively utilize the Grant for Supporting Non-Chinese-speaking Students with Special Educational Needs. This funding will enable the school to offer professional support services tailored to help them overcome challenges.
(3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students : Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school; and our school uses Putonghua to teach Chinese in all classes / groups at certain levels with extra support as appropriate, e.g. pull-out/small-group classes, learning and teaching resources with Pinyin, etc.
(4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment : At each level and for each subject, continuous assessment (weighting ranging from 30% to 100%) and regular tests are conducted to evaluate students' ability and effectiveness in learning so that teachers can tailor their teaching to students' needs. Our academic assessments are based on performance in homework, oral reports, group work and classroom behaviour. Our project-based learning programme requires students to deliver a large-scale presentation of their research findings in addition to written reports so as to boost their analytical power as well as public speaking and presentation skills.
(5) Fee Remission : Our school offers full school fee remission or 1/2 school fee remission. Needy students, including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) could apply for fee remission.

Home-School Co-operation and School Ethos
(1) Home-School Co-operation : Parent-Teacher Association is established to act as a bridge between the School and parents. To help parents cope with challenges of parenting, our PTA organizes various workshops and activities to help parents understand the needs of teenagers.
(2) School Ethos : Our approach is proactive, interactive and down-to-earth. We advocate self-discipline among our students, and combine discipline with counselling in enhancing students' self-image. Our on-campus social worker and educational psychologist provide pertinent guidance to students in need. S.1-S.3 students are required stay in school for lunch. During the lunch period, comprehensive cultural and sustainable development (SD)-related activities are regularly organized. Various uniformed groups are also established to heighten students' sense of discipline and civic responsibility.
In addition, Personal Growth Education (PGE) is used to raise the overall quality of students by reaffirming CFSS core values. It is our new approach in actualizing this area of concern. And whole-school approach in the process is indispensable.

(2) Teacher Professional Training and Development : Our Staff Development and Mentorship Team, consisting of members of the Discipline, Counseling, CCA Team and Academic Committee, provides training and backup for new staff. At least 3 Staff Development Days are scheduled throughout the school year. Besides in-house training, talks and workshops by external professionals are arranged for staff. Teachers have also had cultural exchange tours or education visits to Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Singapore, Hokkaido, Northern Europe, Switzerland and Germany, etc.
Life-wide Learning (Including Five Essential Learning Experiences to be Provided through Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc.) : Our School treasures each student as a unique individual. Along with cultivating their academic faculties, we strive to develop students' potentials in different fields. We have 25 vibrant clubs and societies organizing a rich variety of functions and activities. These co-curricular activities boom under a three-way development: intellect, interests and social services. Each student joins at least one and no more than three clubs. Different other learning experiences will be arranged by teachers and recorded in the Student Learning Profiles (SLP).
Others : Our Science teachers have received the honour of Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence (CEATE) in Science Education Key Learning Area. They have fostered biodiversity conservation through a series of teaching-related workshops by utilizing resources from online knowledge platform and Environmental Trail of our campus.
