We even offer English handouts in cultural subjects. 2. We offer in senior forms the subjects of History, Geography, Economics using English as MOI. We organize English Speaking Day in every teaching cycle and we encourage students to speak more English in campus with presents. 3. We also stress on Chinese and Putonghua. We offer lessons of classical Chinese in order to quip students with necessary knowledge to study HKDSE Chinese. However, our Chinese lessons are conducted in Cantonese only. |
| (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies | : | 1. Bridging course to assist students to adapt EMI in F.4. 2. We always require students to prepare for lessons. 3. Pooling more resources to award students who are making progress. 7. We promote Self-Regulated Learning. 8. "Learning attitude" grades (by subjects) shown in student's report card. 9. | Student Support | ||
| (1) Whole School Approach to Catering for Learner Diversity | : | Most subjects incorporate group activities to cater to learners' diverse needs. Group leaders guide slower learners and facilitate group learning activities. |
| (2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education | : | We adopt a whole school approach to implementing integrated education. Student Support Team has been established, consisting of the principal, vice-principal, special educational needs coordinator, special educational needs support teachers, school-based educational psychologists, speech therapists, subject teachers, school counsellors, social workers, and teaching assistants. This team supports students with special educational needs. We utilize the Learning Support Grant and other resources to provide a wide range of support services for these students, including social development groups, group and individual counselling, and after-school learning programs. We also address students' learning differences through curriculum design, diversified teaching strategies, and adjustments to homework and assessments, thereby enhancing the learning outcomes of students with special educational needs. Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) are implemented for students with more significant learning, emotional, and social difficulties. To identify students with special educational needs early, our school has established a referral system and collaborates closely with professionals, such as school-based educational psychologists, to conduct regular individual meetings and student assessments. We value home-school collaboration and have established regular communication channels to discuss and review student support strategies and their effectiveness with parents through student support summaries, face-to-face meetings, and electronic platforms. |
| (4) Measures to Provide Adaptation for Learning and Assessment | : | 1. We implement the Minimum Promotion Requirement. In order to get promoted to another form, our students must attain a certain standard in their conduct, attendance, English language and academic subjects. 2. 2 uniform tests and 2 examinations. All subjects have continuous assessment. Students' learning attitude is assessed and shown in report cards. 3. "Assessment for Learning" - to reduce the ratio of summative assessment. |
